This Corvair will not be of interest to the numbers correct crowd but she does deserve her stripes. Her special options include a very functional gas heater, a 4 carb remanufactured 140 hp flat six, original rebuilt radio with aux. input,. 14 inch wheels, and quick shift set up.

I bought this car 5 years ago with its current paint job and convertible top. I didn't like the smell of the heat from the engine (no longer a problem: new engine). And the defroster didn't work well. So the first thing I did was add the gas heater. Now both heaters work well and your ready for the next ice age. FYI - I have a gas heater in my Greenbrier and have done them for about 5 other corvair owners since this one. Three years ago I had a new engine made for it, rebuilt clutch, rebuilt 4 speed transmission, and quick shift added. I chose a 327 differential ratio for highway speeds; this car cruises at 70 mph with the rpm's at 3100. And yet from a dead stop, this car gets up and goes, with the foot to the floor the secondaries kick in and it takes off. I added 14" early Mustang wheels due to the difficulty of getting the correct 13" tires and I like the look. The radio and speaker are new with aux input, the sound quality is as good as original but not as good as modern technology. I have included pictures of bubbling along the bottom of the doors and rockers. As the pictures show the interior is in very good shape and the engine and trunk compartment are well maintained. Tires, shocks, brakes, suspension are all in excellent, or new condition. My reason for selling this beauty is a numbers correct 64 convertible Corvair Spyder has caught my eye.

I'd like to add, it gets 21 mpg with a lead foot and gas heater being used 50% of the time.

Woodward Dream Cruise Photo Gallery | Classics and American muscle

Sun, Aug 21 2022

The 2022 running of the Woodward Dream Cruise just went down, and we were there from morning to evening drinking in the sweet sights and pre-emissions exhaust fumes. Yes, it’s a little smelly on Woodward Ave. this time of year. Just like always, the Dream Cruise invites all comers to cruise their machines on Woodward from Ferndale, MI to Pontiac, MI. Everybody is invited, but the original intent of the Dream Cruise was to highlight classic American muscle cars. YouÂ’ll see plenty of those in our mega gallery above, but weÂ’ve sprinkled it with a bunch of other vehicle types, such as modern muscle and other intriguing American vehicles. Similar to years past, though, sometimes the classics arenÂ’t the most entertaining thing to look at on Woodward. ThatÂ’s why weÂ’ll have other mega galleries coming soon, highlighting the weird cars and (great) dogs of the Cruise, all the imports and exotics you can imagine and a special one for all the trucks of Woodward — perhaps even more so than in years past, the truck population on Dream Cruise day was quite high. Click through above to see all the classics you wouldÂ’ve seen had you been roadside on the day of the cruise. And if you missed this yearÂ’s event, make sure you check out what happens next year. You wonÂ’t be alone, as itÂ’s estimated that over 1 million people attend the Dream Cruise to either watch from the side of the road or to sit in the most glorious traffic jam in the world. Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th

Tue, 15 Apr 2014

It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.
