This is a rare 500 sedan, 3 owner, original low mileage, no rot, complete car that I purchased form the second owner 15 years ago, who happens to be a life long friend.. It was originally owned by a woman from Newport, R.I. She sold it to the care taker of her estate. It was stored in her very clean and dry garage for many years after she stopped driving. She sold it to the caretaker in the early 90's. He drove it for about a year then stored it in his barn with intentions of restoring it. He never did. As such he sold it to myself in 1998. I bought it with the original paint intact, except for one minor accident to the front drivers fender-frontend. the fender, hood, and front end were painted. I have photos from the day I brought it home showing it's original paint and near perfect interior. I had it restored with a full bare metal paint job, including, trunk detail, 5 steel wheels, and interior gold dash and door tops painted as well. The windshield and back glass were removed, cleaning minor surface rust and resealed and replaced. Everything in the interior is original and in near perfect condition, except the new carpet which was put in replacing the 500 trim rubber floor coverings. All is in working order, including the gauges, AM radio, horn, lighter, heating, et. The engine is original, never overhauled, complete, detailed with all original components, including distributor, starter( rebuilt), alternator(rebuilt), fuel pump, carbs(rebuilt)with tags. I have numerous receipts of parts and services to get the car in it's condition it's in today. Complete tuneup, springring battery cables, new NOS coil, thermostat bellows, sending units, exhaust, shocks, rubber suspension parts, new gas tank and sending unit, wheel bearings, speedo cable, et. Transmission is original and serviced by Cotrofelds in Vermont. This is a show winning, magazine featured, beautiful car that was awarded Gold at the 2012 CORSA convention in Sturbridge, MA. Making it a senior class car to be judged with the best of the best. Since I have owned it, it's never driven in the winter and barely ever driven in the rain. I have put less than 6000 miles on it in 15 years. Always garaged, (HEATED). I've never washed the car in 15 years! It's only been dusted, polished and detailed. Included in the sale is an extra set of Kelsey Hayes steel wheels I purchased from the Corvair junkyard in PA., with like new Goodyear Radials and a set of 4 original Chevy Mag wheel covers, along with the like new whitewall radials currently on the car. Will not separate! A $1000 value alone. I am selling the car due to lack of interest in the hobby. I have recently sold other cars from my collections as well. The winning bidder will have to PayPal a non-refundable $500 deposit immediately upon purchasing the car. This auction can be canceled at anytime as the car is also advertised on Craig’s List. Transaction types allowed are bank-to-bank wire transfers, US Postal Money Order, PayPal, or Cash. Cashier's checks and money orders are too easily counterfeited - Sorry! You may contact myself, Kerry (seller) at 401-230-2669 with any additional questions you may have. Thanks and good luck with your bidding!

MotorWeek's 80's GM muscle coupe roundup includes Regal GN and Monte Carlo SS
Thu, Jan 29 2015Even with just four brands in the family, General Motors still represents a performance powerhouse. Between the Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Camaro Z/28, Cadillac CTS-V and ATS-V, The General can still deliver plenty of thrills. The 1980s, though, saw the brand go even crazier with performance. While the Camaro and Corvette were still around back in the day, GM had a number of other interesting performance offerings. The Bowtie was complemented by the long-deceased Monte Carlo SS, while the now-defunct Pontiac and Oldsmobile offered the Grand Prix and thumping 442, respectively. And Buick, which isn't short on performance with its Regal GS and Verano Turbo, offered a much more serious vehicle, in the form of the Grand National (not to mention the Darth Vader-spec GNX). MotorWeek, in its hugely entertaining retro flashbacks, looks back on these three long-lost GM performance icons, and it's just as good as you might expect. eBay Find of the Day: 1990 Chevy 1500 454 SS with just 7 miles
Sun, Jan 4 2015When trawling the classifieds either on a buying mission or merely a time-wasting mission, we spend a lot of time poring over photographs comparing the seller's idea of "Like New!" with our idea of it. It's hard to argue with seven original miles on the odometer, though, which is what this 1990 Chevrolet 1500 454 SS has. It's being sold by Country Chevrolet on eBay, the same dealer who sold the truck to its one and only owner 25 years ago. The purchaser bought two of them and left this one in a garage under a car cover, said garage being less than seven miles away from the showroom floor. Better yet, you can buy with confidence because the seller "has collected all records," which we expect would be the slimmest manilla folder in the history of receipt-keeping. For those unfamiliar, the 454 SS was a half-ton, regular cab, 2WD pickup powered by a 454 cubic inch (7.4-liter) V8 with 230 horsepower and 385 pound-feet of torque shifting through a three-speed transmission. This was at the same time the Chevrolet Corvette used a 5.7-liter V8 producing 250 hp and 350 lb-ft. The pickup rode on exclusive wheels and only came in black with red cloth inside. The only extra-cost option on this example is an $18 locking fuel filler cap, which, according to the 454ss forum, means it should have cost about $18,460 out the door, the equivalent of about $34,000 today. At the time of writing there are zero bids, but proceedings open at $45,000 and Country Chevrolet wants $49,000 if you have to have your time capsule right now.
Anti-purist 1963 Ferrari GTE sports hot rod Chevy V8
Thu, Oct 8 2015I remember reading a story around the time Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift came out. It focused on one of the star cars of that film, a 1967 Ford Mustang fastback that started the film as a shell, and in a pinch, was transformed into a modified masterpiece, complete with the RB26DETT engine from a Nissan Skyline GT-R (which started the film under the hood of an S15 Silvia). There was a genuine (and in our minds, absurd) fear in the article that taking a piece of classic American iron and fitting a twin-turbocharged JDM engine would result in some awful trend in the classic car community. If you thought a GT-R-powered classic Mustang was sacrilege, though, this car will probably make you vomit. For the rest of us, it's a neat piece of engineering. Shown above is a 1963 Ferrari 250 GTE, and yes, that's a 302-cubic-inch, small-block Chevrolet V8 under the hood. On top of that, it uses the six-speed manual transmission from a Viper, a nine-inch Ford rear end, and Mitsubishi-sourced paint. So yeah, it's a FrankenFerrari. Check out Road Heads' interview with this custom GTE's owner, which is followed by a brief test drive. And of course, head into Comments afterwards, and let us know what you think. Is this Yankee-powered 250 GTE blasphemous or badass?
