1963 Corvair Monza Spyder 90% original,3 owner adult owned non-smoker/pet in great condition. This vehicle is finished in Palomar Red Metallic with black interior and black top.I am the 3rd owner has been a weekend cruiser and driven to car shows as it's primary use.It is a numbers matching vehicle with no mechanical issues, there is no white smoke at start up or anytime, transmission is automatic power glide that shifts smooth, always starts no hesitation. The floors and rocker panels are solid,no trace of rust anywhere on the body and the under carriage is solid, seats have fading from being original but no rips or tears, top is practically new as is the rear window.Work i have done on it since owned,
New carpeting 2012
Weather stripping 2013
Valve cover gaskets 2012
Serpentine Belt 2012
Whitewall tires 2013
Rhino spray liner used in trunk area 2012
The car was painted by the previous owner in 2010 and it looks great as you can see in the pictures,a few scratches on passenger door but red makes it more obvious, this is not a 10 foot or 5 foot paint job it was a expensive job and done pretty well(thus 90% original). She has 57,000 miles but the title states exceeds mechanical limits.Due to the previous owners spouse checking the wrong box, when i went to correct it at the DMV i was told the vehicle is exempt since it's over 25 years old. When i asked why not put exempt on it instead?,i was told to make any changes to a title i need notarized statements from all owners.Well the first owner is deceased so that is impossible,so for leery feel free to believe it has 157,000 but as original and sturdy as this car is i strongly know this is a 57k mile vehicle. We have won numerous trophies with her at Chevy shows and good guys.
What would i suggest doing over the years?
Re chrome some of the small interior trim eg top release latches, small piece near gas cap opening,a few touch ups put a better tire on the spare.
Is this a Barret Jackson show car? not yet
Is it a restoration project fixer upper? absolutely not.
What all is included in auction?
2 sets of keys(2 for trunk and 2 for ignition)
Service manual
3 more manuals and 2 history brochures
2 sets of floor mats
extra side view mirror
serpentine belt
Original Laminated bill of sale from 1963
This would make a great daily driver or weekend cruiser or show car and needs nothing except whatever the next owners personal preference would be.I will do a No Reserve auction, but please keep in mind i have a local offer of 4900 which i feel is giving it away and if the bidding does not come close to that i will end the auction. My buy it now is 9,Serious bidders only please if you have 0 feedback and are the highest bidder in the last 24 hours contact me or i will retract your bid.I am a very honest person feel free to message me with any questions or if you would like to have the vehicle inspected or look at it in person. Thanks for looking and happy bidding.

GM slashes prices in China as sales falter
Thu, May 14 2015Buying a vehicle from General Motors' stable of brands might be a lot cheaper in the near future – at least for customers in China. The effort comes as GM hopes to keep sales there growing, and the decision alludes to yet another sign that the Asian country no longer has the booming auto market of past years. GM and its Chinese joint venture partner SAIC are slashing prices by as much as the equivalent to $8,700 on 40 models from Buick, Chevrolet, and Cadillac, according to The Detroit News. Across all of automaker's nameplates, the overall sales dipped in China in April by 0.4 percent to 258,484 vehicles. Among the drops, Buick was down 8.5 percent, and Chevy shrunk 5.6 percent. Caddy's numbers increased 4.6 percent for the month, though. Buick remains a popular brand in the minds of Chinese consumers, but according to The Detroit News domestic automakers there are starting to eat into the dominance of foreign companies in the market. The country remains important for GM, though. Late last year, it outlined a future strategy that included China as a major pillar, including a $14 billion investment to build five new factories and boost sales. Bring back the Bronco! Trademarks we hope are actually (someday) future car names
Tue, Mar 17 2015Trademark filings are the tea leaves of the auto industry. Read them carefully – and interpret them correctly – and you might be previewing an automaker's future product plans. Yes, they're routinely filed to maintain the rights to an iconic name. And sometimes they're only for toys and clothing. But not always. Sometimes, the truth is right in front of us. The trademark is required because a company actually wants to use the name on a new car. With that in mind, here's a list of intriguing trademark filings we want to see go from paperwork to production reality. Trademark: Bronco Company: Ford Previous Use: The Bronco was a long-running SUV that lived from 1966-1996. It's one of America's original SUVs and was responsible for the increased popularity of the segment. Still, it's best known as O.J. Simpson's would-be getaway car. We think: The Bronco was an icon. Everyone seems to want a Wrangler-fighter – Ford used to have a good one. Enough time has passed that the O.J. police chase isn't the immediate image conjured by the Bronco anymore. Even if we're doing a wish list in no particular order, the Bronco still finds its way to the top. For now (unfortunately), it's just federal paperwork. Rumors on this one can get especially heated. The official word from a Ford spokesman is: "Companies renew trademark filings to maintain ownership and control of the mark, even if it is not currently used. Ford values the iconic Bronco name and history." Trademarks: Aviator, AV8R Company: Ford Previous Use: The Aviator was one of the shortest-run Lincolns ever, lasting for the 2003-2005 model years. It never found the sales success of the Ford Explorer, with which it shared a platform. We Think: The Aviator name no longer fits with Lincoln's naming nomenclature. Too bad, it's better than any other name Lincoln currently uses, save for its former big brother, the Navigator. Perhaps we're barking up the wrong tree, though. Ford has made several customized, aviation themed-Mustangs in the past, including one called the Mustang AV8R in 2008, which had cues from the US Air Force's F-22 Raptor fighter jet. It sold for $500,000 at auction, and the glass roof – which is reminiscent of a fighter jet cockpit – helped Ford popularize the feature. Trademark: EcoBeast Company: Ford Previous Use: None by major carmakers.
GM tinkering with Silverado, Sierra model mix amidst strong early sales
Mon, 04 Nov 2013Variety, as they say, is the spice of life. That's a lesson that is currently being taught to General Motors, because despite a strong showing from its 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, the General's pickup sales still can't best those of cross-town rival Ford.
With 59,163 trucks moved, GM fell just over 1,000 units short of toppling Ford, and one of the main reasons for that, according to GM's chief sales analyst, was due to a lack of variety in the engines and body styles available on dealer lots. "We are still over-weighted toward crew-cab V8 trucks. Our light-duty mix will moderate over time as our launch progresses," said Kurt McNeil.
Loading dealers with the popular combination of the 5.3-liter V8 and the four-door, Crew Cab body style was intentional during the truck's launch, but as supplies of leftover 2013 models, which are being sold at heavy incentives, are beginning to wane, both budget-conscious and high-dollar buyers are looking elsewhere instead of at the volume model pickups.
