1990 Chevrolet Camaro Rs 5.0l 5-speed Manual T-top on 2040-cars
Pinole, California, United States
Hello I'm selling this 1990 Chevrolet Camaro RS T-top 5.0 Engine, manual 5-speed. It has a lot of power and sounds great. Car is being sold AS-IS. The car has been modified, which makes it nearly impossible to pass a California Smog Test. Starting bid is $1000 with no reserve.
Car Fax: I just ran a carfax report on this car, vin# 1G1FP23E6LL111673 which showed the mileage as 221,445. There has been no accident/damage reported to CARFAX. I was informed the previous owner sold the car to Pick n Pull because of speeding tickets and the potential cost to switch back to stock to get it to pass a California smog. Also they said the previous owner drove the car to Pick N Pull (it was not towed to their location). It was on their lot for less than 24 hours, before I bought it. History: It appears the previous owner was setting this car up to race. For example he switched it from a throttle body to edelbrock 1406 carburetor and performer intake. It has an electric fuel pump and smaller after market gas tank. Also, there's modified exhaust system and no catalytic converter on the car. Radio has been removed from car. It has a ton of potential. But I don't have any use for it. I need a reliable family car. My experience: Transmission shifted fine for me. The wheels look nice in the picture, but they don't look that good in person. Also the wheels appears to be too big for the car. This car should be sold to someone who knows how to work on cars. It has some dings here and there which is why I listed it at a low price with no reserve. If I was into racing I would definitely keep this car but I need a reliable family car right now. It's a California car. DMV:The issue with this car (in California) is being able to get it to pass smog. The way it is set up now, it's not able to pass smog (catatylic converter must be added, sensors to the engine has been disconnected) so the modifications would have to switched back to stock to pass a smog test. If you have a stock engine for it, then that's great too. The previous owner had a clean title on this car. However, car was sold to a salvage yard, therefore the has a "salvage title". Check the Car Fax and you will see the Car has never been reported for a major accident. If you want to see the car fax I can mail it to you. Also you can see for yourself, here's the If you have any questions please ask. Thanks. Notes: Car is being sold as is. New owner is responsible for making arrangements to have the car shipped to his/her location. I completed all paperwork with DMV yesterday. Therefore I should have Title in hand within 10 days. |

Mark Reuss: GM can't afford product 'misses,' has 'thought about' CT6 V-Series
Thu, Apr 9 2015Mark Reuss is a busy man. He oversees General Motors' global product portfolio, an all-encompassing task for a company that sold more than 9.9 million cars and trucks last year. When GM launches a well-received product, like the road-going rocket ship that is the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 – he gets credit. When the company stumbles with the slow-selling Chevy Malibu or grapples with fallout from the decade-old Saturn Ion and its flawed ignition switch, he gets blamed. GM owners, the press and sometimes the federal government, demand answers. Bob Lutz famously held the job before Reuss. So did Mary Barra, who's now GM's chief executive. There's a New GM, but the lineage is connected to a long history. When he's not thinking product, Reuss, an executive vice president, also runs the purchasing and supply chain for the company, which is still one of the largest industrial empires in the world. We caught up with Reuss on the floor of the New York Auto Show, where GM had just rolled out two crucial new products: the 2016 Cadillac CT6 and the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. Speaking with a small group of reporters, Reuss delved into a variety of subjects, including the new Malibu, Cadillac's future (he thinks the ATS-V is going to "flame the M3 and M4"), and other topics. On fixing the Malibu: "We can't miss. We can't have those kinds of misses [like the previous generation] on our cars and crossovers and trucks. We can't do that. If we do that, we give a reason for someone to go buy something else. It's that simple. "On a car like the Malibu we have a chance to really fix all of that, which we have, and then lead. Then you've got a real opportunity there. So that's what we've really been focused on here – to fix those things." He later added: "We need that car here to transform Chevrolet desperately because it's the heart of the market. And when you think of Chevrolet, people will come back and think about what we did with the [new] Malibu and the Cruze... It's hugely important to us." On Cadillac: "If we go out and try and out-German the Germans, it's probably not going to work. We've got an opportunity here generationally where there's a lot of people younger than me that have parents that drove BMWs and Mercedes, and I think there's an opportunity there for those people to drive something different than what their parents did, and I think that's always been an opportunity in the auto industry if you look at the history of it.
GM puts e-commerce shopping in car dashboards
Tue, Dec 5 2017DETROIT — General Motors on Tuesday said it will equip newer cars with in-dash e-commerce technology, betting it can profit as drivers order food, find fuel or reserve hotel rooms by tapping icons on the dashboard screen, instead of using smartphones while driving. GM's Marketplace technology, developed with IBM, will be uploaded automatically to about 1.9 million model-year 2017 and later vehicles starting immediately, with about 4 million vehicles across the Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac brands equipped with the capability in the United States by the end of 2018, GM said. GM will get an undisclosed amount of revenue from merchants featured on its in-dash Marketplace, Santiago Chamorro, GM vice president for global connected customer experience, said during a briefing for reporters. Customers will not be charged for using the service or the data transmitted to and from the car while making transactions, he said. "This platform is financed by the merchants," Chamorro said. GM will get paid for placing a merchant's application on its screens, and "there's some level of revenue sharing" based on each transaction, he said. It is too soon to say how much revenue GM could realize from the Marketplace system, he said. The GM Marketplace will compete for customer clicks and revenue with hand-held smartphones, which offer a far richer array of applications than the GM system will at the outset. Amazon.com is partnering with other automakers, including Ford, to offer in-car e-commerce capability through Amazon's Alexa personal assistant system. For example, GM will launch Marketplace with just Shell and Exxon Mobil icons in the fuel category. The only restaurant available for in-car table reservations at launch is the chain TGI Fridays, GM said. In addition, there will be apps for parking, and ordering ahead at coffee shops and restaurants such as Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts and Applebee's. "We will be adding more vendors," with some coming in the first quarter of 2018, Chamorro said. In addition, he said GM plans to expand integration into its vehicles of music, news and other information services. GM also hopes to use its in-car Marketplace connections to expand purchases of products and services, such as additional access to in-car wifi, from its own replacement parts business and dealer network. Customers can "expect to see more service promotions coming through the platform," Chamorro said. Reporting by Joe WhiteRelated Video:
GM recalling 118K Colorado, Canyon pickups over missing hood latches
Thu, 20 Dec 2012General Motors has announced a recall of 118,800 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks due to the possibility of secondary hood latches not being installed at the time of manufacture. The affected vehicles are from the 2010, 2011 and 2012 model years, all of which were built between November 9, 2009 and August 28, 2012.
According to the official National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report, these trucks fail to "comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 113, 'Hood Latch System.' The hood may be missing the secondary hood latch." In other words, owners of these trucks could find their vehicles' hoods opening unexpectedly while driving.
The official recall campaign is expected to begin on January 17, 2013. Dealers will inspect the affected pickups and if a secondary hood latch is not present, one will be installed free of charge. Scroll down to read the official NHTSA report.
