1956 Chevy Nomad in very good condition. This is a beautiful driver with a stock 350 four bolt main block, big
heads, w/nice cam, Edelbrock carb and intake w/headers (installed at 98,000 miles, so no more than 3,220 miles on
rebuilt engine, Tuned by Bob and Nick Jennings in So.Cal), backed by a 700r overdrive transmission (rebuilt and
installed with less than 1,000 miles), with glass-packs out the sides. The stunning matador red/(orange) paint is
around 15 years new and always garaged. It does have a couple small spots blistering in the front lower fenders,
the rear tailgate and lift gate area have not been restore completely. The interior was restored to 100% stock
condition two years ago from the metal up, with zero rust on the inside metal (except for the wheel well, which was
repaired when the body was painted), everything was sealed with POR 15, new head liner, new seats with new seat
belts where installed, new door panels, new window regulators, new door locks, all the interior chrome was
re-plated, new carpet with insulation, and a new electrical harness under the dash. The only thing not stock is the
stereo with speakers in the kick panels. Michelin tires have lots of tread (215/75/15) with Rally Rims all the way
around . Most of the outside chrome was re-plated, but some exterior pieces have light pitting as seen in the
photos. Windshield is crazing a little on the lower left driver side (see photo). This car starts fast with the
electric fuel pump, runs, drives, stops, and is a "quick" fun cruiser. This was my grandfathers car, and he
purchased it in 1957 from the first owner. Clear title with zero accidents.

Next Chevy Volt will be 2016 model and ride on new chassis
Fri, Mar 7 2014What do we know about the 2016 Chevy Volt? Well, for now, all we can do is try to put the puzzle together without the box. Thankfully, a new batch of pieces has arrived from a new report in Edmunds, which says that the 2016 model year will introduce the second generation of a car that hasn't been dramatically updated since it went on sale in 2010. The new Volt is getting an "evolutionary styling change" and will ride on a new front-drive platform that has been developed by General Motors. GM's Kevin Kelly told AutoblogGreen that he has "no comment on future products," but he did acknowledge that Chevrolet is working on a second-generation Volt, "but I can't say anything about timing." Everybody already knew that a next-gen Volt is coming, so that's not a surprise. What we don't know is any real concrete information on the car itself. The few tidbits of information we do have help define the outlines of the next version of Chevy's halo car, but they're not confirmed yet. For the record, they range from the eye-raising (a $10,000 price drop) to the logical (20 percent more electric range). We can't see the whole picture yet, but the pieces do point to the 2016 Volt, which would be released next year sometime, being a much bigger deal than the last update, when the Volt's range was increased by three electric miles thanks to a battery capacity increase of 16 kWh to 16.5.
General Motors Recalls Nearly 780,000 Cars To Fix Deadly Problem
Thu, Feb 13 2014General Motors is recalling nearly 780,000 compact cars in North America because the engines can shut down unexpectedly and cause crashes. The company says six people have been killed in crashes related to the problem. The recall affects Chevrolet Cobalts and Pontiac G5s from the 2005 through 2007 model years. U.S. safety regulators say the weight of the key ring and rough roads can move the ignition switch out of the run position, cutting the engine and electricity. If that happens, air bags may not work. GM says there have been 22 crashes from the problem. All happened at high speeds. Dealers will replace the ignition switch for free. GM says owners should remove nonessential items from key rings until the problem is fixed.
