1971 C10 4x4 Truck Short Bed Chevrolet 454 Big Block Cheyenne Restored Hot Rod on 2040-cars
Louisburg, Kansas, United States
1971 chevyrolet 4x4 pickup truck that has been restored with the original theme in mind with a touch of chrome and horsepower! The truck runs and drives great, I would say you could drive it anywhere. The restore is fresh with less than 500 miles since complete restore. The 454 big block has been bored out to a 468ci and runs excellent. Elderbrock carburetor, intake and valve covers give the engine a nice look. The interior is all new deluxe Cheyenne, with a black/white hounds tooth seat. The cluster and glove box cover are out of a original Cheyenne super truck. The paint is DuPont base coat clear coat and is polished to perfection! The body is straight and body lines are excellent. This was a rust free truck before the restoration started. All new Cheyenne moldings upper and lower, new tailgate band, new chrome grille surround, new headlights, new front and rear bumpers, spray in LINEX bed liner, LED tail lights all new inner and outer door handles, etc etc. you can get the idea. This truck was built to grab attention! To say the least it screams look at me! The most important thing is its drivability, it drives great and has excellent road manners. The 35x12.5x15 BFG mud terrains give it a tough look but this truck has not been on a dirt road since restore. This 71 bad boy was not a budget build, all parts used were the best money could buy! Parts and labor alone was enough to make anyone raise both eyebrows! These trucks are becoming very desirable so I understand this may not be for everyone but if its the truck you are looking for, please bid to win! I just asked to have your funds ready to go. If you have questions please email me, I am very busy in the day as you probably are to but I will get back to you as soon as I can. I have the truck listed locally and will sell early if opportunity arrives. Thank you for looking.
On May-01-14 at 08:12:20 PDT, seller added the following information: Just to clarify the glove box lid is original to the tuck but I added the wood grain trim piece to the outside, this is not a decal or sticker and is original gm part. The paper tag on the inside of the glove box lid is still on with the 115 wheel base and the vin that matches the body tag, along with options of the truck. |

Driving Granatelli's turbine-powered 1978 Chevy Corvette [w/video]
Thu, Jan 8 2015With its curvy snout and feminine haunches, the third-gen Chevrolet Corvette looks like a dreamy – if dated – exemplar of Sports Car Fantasy 101 when viewed through modern eyes. This particular specimen circa '78, clad in silver and black paint with red pinstripes, appears to be a well-preserved example from the era. Apart from its low-profile Pirellis, slightly raised and slotted hood, spacious stance and a certain hand-painted descriptor alongside its crossed flag logos, you'd never guess there's a Space-Age propulsion unit powering this Coke bottle-bodied ride. Climb inside, and you're presented with aircraft gauges and big, colorful square buttons in the center panel. It takes a push of the "Ignitor" button, a tap of the starter button, and a slide of a T-handle for this nearly 40-year-old sports car to start sounding like Gulfstream G650 ready for takeoff. Yep, you're sitting in an 880-horsepower, turbine-powered Corvette, the only one of its kind in the world. Welcome to the whoosh. What The...? Built by Vince Granatelli, son of Indy 500 guru Andy Granatelli, this curious Corvette came into being by cramming a Pratt & Whitney ST6N-74 gas turbine engine into the donor car's lengthy front end. The same type of Jet A-burning mill powered Granatelli Senior's STP-sponsored racecar at the 1967 Indianapolis 500, where it famously led most of the 198 of 200 laps until a $6 transmission bearing failed, knocking it out of the race. The idea of turbine power usurping internal combustion was so threatening that Indy's governing body restricted turbine performance into obsolescence thereafter. A turbine-powered Corvette sounds excessive because it is. But there are also things about this 880-horsepower, 1,161-pound-feet monster that might surprise you. While it smacks of futurist exoticism and cost a then-dizzying $37,000 in 1967, the Canadian-built powerplant uses 80 percent fewer parts than an internal combustion V8 and will run on virtually anything combustible – whiskey, diesel, even Chanel No. 5. Though it's triple the length of a V8, the Pratt & Whitney beast weighs only 285 pounds. It's also one hell of a robust workhorse, typically serving as an auxiliary power unit for commercial aircraft or a generator in oil fields, where it can run for tens of thousands of consecutive hours before needing an overhaul. To adapt the Chevrolet for jet duty, the nose section was gutted and a sub-frame was built to compensate for the loosey-goosey front end.
Next-gen Chevy Cruze caught cruising in the cold
Wed, 13 Feb 2013Spy photographers have caught what looks like the next-generation Chevrolet Cruze out on snow patrol. The camo could be tricking our eyes, but it look like it has an even tidier, more rounded front end and even lower fenders in relation to the top of the hood. And either a chunk of camo has been wedged between the side mirrors and the doors, or the mirrors are up for revision, too.
The door handles have been moved up the side of the car, leading the way to a rear end that grows a bit in length. If the rumors are true, the coming second-generation Cruze sits on the new D2XX platform that will replace the Delta and Theta platforms at General Motors. A global architecture, the Cruze will be the first to get it, but it will underpin everything from next Chevrolet Volt to the Equinox and could be responsible for 2.5 million units by 2018. The next Cruze is expected to begin production in GM's Lordstown, Ohio plant in the third quarter of 2014.
China's rise, global restructuring wither GM's Korea division
Wed, Jan 7 2015An article in the Daily Kanban suggests the sun is setting on GM Korea, and it could already be well into dusk. GM Korea came about when General Motors, along with co-investors SAIC and Suzuki, bought Daewoo Motors from parent company Daewoo Group in 2001; it had a previous tie-up with GM, a joint venture that ended in 1992, although Daewoo cars were based on GM cars until 1996. Over the decade following the purchase, it became such an important part of operations that it was renamed GM Korea in 2011, "to reflect its heightened status in [the] global operations of GM." Just two years later, the printed rumors were that the subsidiary responsible for a fifth of Chevrolet's global production could be shutting down. The division's sales were down almost 21 percent through November of last year, counting domestic South Korean sales, exports, and CKD – Complete Knock Down – products. That makes the labor strife, already an issue for four years, even more acute, reports say the subsidiary will lose $36 million a year if it can't get the job and wage cuts it wants, and government concessions can't make up for the losses. And it gets worse, so head over to Daily Kanban to read the rest of the story.
