MUST SEE Restored to Show Condition, 3 Owner Southern Car, Factory Build Sheet, 84K Original Miles, 260 DETAILED PICS & HD VIDEO. Put together at the Baltimore GM Plant and delivered to Lustine Chevrolet, this Chevelle has been garaged its entire life in North & South Carolina by 3 private owners, including myself as one. My Chevelle is a classic example of flawless preservation and care. In the photos, I have presented the flawless, original, clean, and rust-free floor pans and interior sheet metal still painted the original Ascot Blue from the factory. Even the factory sound deadening material was perfectly in tact. The original build sheet was still housed under the rear seat, albeit in pieces. With the door and rear quarter window panels off, take a peak inside and throughout and I show near flawless sheet metal still in factory condition. It has a gorgeous, solid, original trunk pan and awesome unharmed sheet metal on the exterior, repainted to show quality in its original Ascot Blue color. The body is straight as an arrow. With near perfect original floor pans, it is restored and very clean underneath as well. Bound for a true collectors garage, it can easily take far beyond its selling price to get it to its current restoration quality and functionality. Hands down, this true 1971 Chevelle in its current condition is one of the cleanest and finest in these parts. Many dealer and owners can claim they have a clean 2nd generation Chevelle and advertise their cars as such but how do you really truly know what youre buying? I have provided photo after photo and a complete video of this car piece by piece to demonstrate just how clean this car really is. From drivetrain, to body, to interior this car drives, looks, and is preserved just as the engineers at GM would have wanted. Ill be sad to see her go but I am extremely proud of the condition of the car Im selling.

Other Features:
I personally rate the drivetrain a 9. It has a professionally built, balanced, and blueprinted 350 cubic-inch V8 easily running at 325-350HP (not the original motor) mated to the original turbo-hydramatic 350 (has the B162390 stamp on it to match the VIN) and the original 2.73:1 GH code 10-bolt rear end. It is a really nice balance of street power and good fuel economy and is perfectly synchronized even to 90mph + with great throttle response. Modern upgrades include electronic ignition, Holly 650 CFM carburetor, Holley Aluminum Intake, mild cam, headers, roller rockers and glass pack dual exhaust. It is all housed in a very clean, restored engine compartment.
I personally rate the body and paint a 9. The body is very straight due to the solid original sheet metal. Professionally repainted back to the original Ascot Blue. I have waxed this car over and over and have yet to find even 1 chip in the paint. Nicely painted underneath the trunk and hood and in all jams. It is one step below Barret Jackson showroom quality, which means you can still win your class at any car show without the stress of having to be an absolute trailer queen. Non-factory add-ons include the vinyl top, white racing stripes, and cowl hood. I have the original hood in near perfect condition if someone desires to eliminate the SS-only stripes.
I personally rate the interior an 8.5. The beige interior color is a perfect complement to the Ascot Blue exterior. Very hard to find interiors this clean and well put together with only minute flaws. The smallest details in excellent condition are what set it apart.
Factory C60 code A/C (per build sheet) and Heat (A/C taken out for service/charging when I photographed the car. The unit is complete)
Factory Power Steering
Factory Power Brakes
Mechanical items (See Video) from speedometer to fuel gauge to lights to door handles to locks to windows to wipers, to heater, etc. all work
All exterior chrome trim is in excellent condition, including front and rear bumpers.
Very few miles on the Cooper Cobra radial tires sitting on perfect Keystone Mag Wheels
The glass on this car is flawless and contains no scratches. There is a tiny crack on the front windshield the size of a small marble from a rock.
Weatherstripping and seals are flawless.
Suspension and brakes are all operational and the car drives extremely straight and smooth.
VIN 136371B162390
Original transmission code stamped w/ partial VIN B162390. Build sheet also has CBC TRAN on it, which is the Chevrolet-Buick Combined 350 so this was a factory 350 and the original is still on the car
Rear axle code stamped GHC0402, which stands for GH=2.73:1 ratio 10-bolt, C= Ohio Plant, 040 = 40th day of the year (February 9), 2 = 2nd shift. Build sheet also has the common G97 code and says 273 ratio axle next to it.
Engine code I cannot tell what car this engine came out of. The engine stamp and associated partial VIN looked to have been decked during the machining process when the motor was being put together. It is a 74 block.
Other build sheet options: U35 code electric clock, U63 AM Radio, and U76 Antenna in windshield, power steering, C60 Air Conditioning.

I know that few, if any, sellers will show this much sheet metal and detail upfront but Ive been a buyer/bidder and always wished I could REALLY TRULY know what I was getting upfront. I HAD 260 PHOTOS POSTED IN THE AD BUT THEY WERE SLOWING DOWN THE AD TOO MUCH. INSTEAD IVE POSTED 25 PHOTOS HERE AND 260 COMPLETE AND DETAILED PHOTOS (4 PAGES) ON FLICKR. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO VIEW THESE PICTURES IF YOU WANT TO BID ON THE CAR - ESPECIALLY THE LAST PICTURES, WHICH SHOW THE FACTORY SHEET METAL AND FLOOR PANS. http://www.flickr.com/photos/78972186@N06/sets/72157639129950323/

If you're burnt out on musings about the Chevrolet Corvette, you'll want to go ahead and skip this post. Motor Trend reports General Motors is hard at work on a low-cost version of the seventh-generation sports car for 2015. Rumored to be called the Corvette Coupe, the car will forgo the Stingray and skip the 450-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine in favor of a 5.3-liter V8 with under 400 ponies. If you're keeping track, that's a shade of the same engine found behind the headlights of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. The report also suggests the Coupe will receive a number of aesthetic tweaks to separate it from the Stingray, including different front and rear fascias as well as new front fenders and a rear diffuser. Motor Trend says the point of all this is to cut the car's price tag, which means we may see a Corvette on showroom floors for less than $50,000 if this car comes to fruition.
Despite the fact that the 2013 Chevy Sonic is a fun, plucky little thing - especially in ever-so-slightly hotter RS guise - it is not, in fact, a skateboard. But don't tell that to rapper Theophilus London. In General Motors' latest spot for the Chevrolet compact, London needs to make a quick run to the store for some milk. And even though, once again, the Sonic is not a skateboard, it ollies, pops and gets air because, you know, it's just so much fun to throw around. If this video looks familiar to you, it's because this is the full ad that we first got a preview of in Chevy's longer, full-line spot, where the brand's "Find New Roads" tagline was introduced. Scroll down to see this dedicated Sonic spot, along with the older ad, and remember, the Sonic is still - still - not a skateboard.
For in the 1985 model year, General Motors began selling Chevrolet-badged Suzuki Cultus hatchbacks in California. Sales of the cheap three-cylinder econobox in the rest of North America followed soon after (with the Canadian version known as the Pontiac Firefly), and did pretty well considering the crash in gasoline prices during the middle 1980s. Starting in 1988, the facelifted Sprint became the Geo (and, later on, Chevrolet) Metro. Here's one of the very first Cultuses sold on our shores, found in a San Francisco Bay Area car graveyard. Amazingly, the primitive rear-wheel-drive Chevrolet Chevette remained available all the way through 1987, competing with the thriftier front-wheel-drive Sprint in the same showrooms. For 1988, Pontiac started selling a rebadged Daewoo LeMans, so the Sprint/Metro never lacked for intra-corporate competition. Inside, you'll find the same stuff most mid-1980s Japanese econoboxes got: tough cloth upholstery and long-wearing hard plastics. Suzuki quality in 1985 wasn't quite up to Honda or Toyota levels, but you weren't paying Honda or Toyota prices for the Sprint. MSRP on this car started at $4,949, or about $12,000 in 2020 dollars. The cheapest possible 1985 Chevette cost $5,340, while a new no-frills Ford Escort would set you back $5,620. Subaru, however, could have put you in a punitively unappointed base-model Leone hatchback for just 40 bucks more than the Sprint that year. I think I'd have sprung the extra for a $5,348 Toyota Tercel, a $5,195 Mazda GLC, or best cheap-commuter deal of all that yearΒ the $5,399 Honda Civic 1300 hatchback. I was 19 years old and driving a Competition Orange 1968 Mercury Cyclone that year, and I recall feeling pity for Chevy Sprint drivers, new-car smell or not. Still, these weren't bad cars for the price, though a Sprint with an automatic transmission was a real character-builder. Got three cylinders and uses 'em all! 48 horsepower from this hemi-headed SOHC 1-liter. The Turbo Sprint Β yes, such a car existed Β had a howling 70 horsepower. The hood-latch release is a rectangular button that resembles a badge. 1985 Chevy Sprint Commercial The highest-mileage, lowest-priced car you can buy. 1985 holden barina commercial The Australian-market version was the Holden Barina, and the TV ads featured the Road Runner. 1983 SUZUKI CULTUS Ad In its homeland, this car got screaming guitars and a drive through New York City for its TV commercials.
