Frame off 1970 SS 454 Chevelle convertible project..I've owned this car for 30 plus years. The car was sold new at Schonlaw Chevrolet in Hollywood California in May of 1970.The trim tag is missing but the car was originally red on the exterior with  pearl white bucket seat interior.
I have restored many car over the years and have just to many projects right now.  I have decided to put this car up for sale at this time. The frame was completely disassembled ,sand blasted and  all parts were repainted in detail. When I bought it I was told it was a LS5 car. The car does not have any papers to prove the LS5 option but does appear to be a real SS car. It has all the correct OEM F41 SS suspension. Original rear sway bar and boxed lower trailing arms. Original SS Big Block front springs and sway bar. Factory disc brakes and F41 lower A Arms.
The engine is a  1970 3963512 block with the correct 3964290  LS5 heads .The engine was running when I bought the car but I removed the top end and was going to rebuild it. The transmission is a M21 and works fine.It does have a nice clean 12 bolt rear end but not original to the car.
The wheels have been blasted and repainted correctly with new caps, rings and lug nuts.Tires are not brand new but but nice.
The  complete floors were replaced with a 1 piece floor including the rockers all the way from the firewall to the back bumper. Both quarters were replaced as well as the inner wheel houses. The front fenders and hood are also brand new..The doors are  OEM rust free originals.
I do have a lot of small parts that go with the car.
Included in the sale is.
All side glass.
Nice 4 core radiator
Complete  512 long block LS5 engine
Bell housing w/clutch and pressure plate
Original SS dash wiring
Complete convertible top frame.(needs top front header bow, sold new)
M21 transmission
Windshield trim and rear pinch trim.
Front bumper is a fresh rechromed OEM bumper.
Back bumper is a older rechromed original but very nice yet.
I'm sure there a few thing I have forgotten to mention that go with .
This car is in the stages that you could  paint it any color or build it anyway you want it.
When I get a car to this point and after the body is painted and set on the frame with the engine  mounted in the frame, it takes me 2 weeks by myself to  have it reassembled and driving down the road.|
My reserve is way less than what I have into the car.
You can email with any questions.

Auction ends Monday evening the 15th

On Sep-10-14 at 18:19:18 PDT, seller added the following information:

Somebody mentioned the car cant be a SS  because it doesn't have the Big Block steering shaft in the picture so I added the picture of the  Big Block Shaft I removed off the car.

8 cars we're most looking forward to driving in 2015

Mon, Jan 5 2015

Now that 2014 is officially in the books, it's time to look ahead. And following our list of the cars we liked best last year, we're now setting our sights at the hot new metal that's coming our way in 2015. Some of these, we've already seen. And some are still set to debut during the 2015 auto show season. But these are the machines that keep us going – the things on the horizon that we're particularly stoked to drive, and drive hard. Jeep Renegade Not the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Not the Ford Mustang GT350. Not the new John Cooper Works Mini. Nope, I'm looking forward to the adorable, trail-rated Jeep Renegade. And that's because I really, really, really like our long-term Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. I do not, however, care too much for the Cherokee's looks, and I really don't like its $38,059 price tag. The Renegade Trailhawk, meanwhile, promises much of the same rough-and-tumble character as its big brother, but at what we expect will be a more reasonable price (I'm personally wagering on the baby Jeep's off-road model starting at no more than $23,000). With a 2.4-liter four-cylinder and a nine-speed automatic, it should also be a bit easier to fill than the V6-powered Cherokee. Also, I can't help but love the way the Renegade looks. It's like someone took a Wrangler, squished it by 50 percent and then handed it off to George Clinton for a healthy dose of funk. The interior, with its bright, expressive trims and color schemes should also be a really nice place to spend some time. I'll be attending the Renegade's launch later this month, so I'll have a much shorter wait than my colleagues. Here's hoping the baby Jeep lives up to my expectations. – Brandon Turkus Associate Editor Mazda MX-5 Miata Here's an uncomfortable truth: I'd rather spend a day driving a properly sorted Mazda MX-5 Miata of any generation on a winding road than I would nearly any other vehicle, regardless of power, price or prestige. It's not just that I prize top-down driving and enjoy the Miata's small size because it gives me more road to play with. I just find there's more motoring joy to be had with high-fidelity handling and an uncorrupted car-to-driver communication loop than I do with face-distorting power or grip – let alone valet-stand gravitas. But perhaps most of all, I love Miatas because they can deliver that level of feedback and driver reward at modest speeds that won't put the locals on edge or endanger lives – you can use more of the car more of the time.

Ford Police Interceptors dominate Michigan State Police testing

Tue, Nov 1 2016

Once again, Ford Motor Company builds the fastest police vehicles. The Blue Oval touted the news in an official release following Michigan State Police and Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department testing. Ford did very well. Except for one acceleration metric – zero to 10 miles per hour – the Blue Oval's Taurus and Explorer-based cop cars were the quickest, with particular praise coming for the EcoBoost-powered models, which bested Chevrolet and Dodge's V8-powered variants. Dearborn's products also posted the fastest average times around MSP's vehicle dynamics course. But it wasn't all positive for Ford. The only four-cylinder in the contest, the 2.0-liter, EcoBoost Ford SSP Sedan, had both the lowest top speed, 120 mph, and the slowest acceleration figures. It was also the slowest in track testing. Ford's products also failed to match the braking and top speeds of its rivals from Detroit and Auburn Hills – the rear-drive Charger Pursuit posted the best braking stats of the entire test, while the V8-powered Chevrolet Caprice hit the highest top speed, at 155 mph. Ford did score a top speed award, among SUVs, but at 132 mph, the naturally aspirated Police Interceptor Utility had to share its award with the equally fast, rear-drive Chevrolet Tahoe. The LA County Sheriff's timing isn't publicly available, but according to Ford, the EcoBoost-powered police cars put on a similarly impressive show for cops on the West Coast. We've assembled a spreadsheet on Google Docs that offers an easy to browse comparison of the different stats assembled by the Michigan State Police, and divided the vehicles between standard V6-powered sedans, high-performance sedans (EcoBoost and V8 models), and SUVs. You can check it out here. Related Video:

2018 Autoblog Technology of the Year finalists

Wed, Jan 10 2018

After months of prepping and several days of testing, we narrowed the field for Autoblog's 2018 Tech of the Year award to the Nissan Rogue with ProPilot Assist semi-autonomous driving system, the Lexus LC 500h and its new hybrid powertrain, and the Chevy Colorado ZR2 and its trick Multimatic spool-valve off-road shocks. Three very different cars with very different technologies duking it out for the award. Look for news of our winner at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. We hand out this award every year to the technology or feature that we feel moves the bar forward for the automotive industry. Read more here on how our testing process works. We discuss, debate and count up score sheets, judging each vehicle and technology on a few different criteria. Is its purpose noteworthy? Does it work well? Does it advance the industry? The Nissan Rogue with ProPilot Assist was actually a prototype, as the technology will first debut in the 2018 Nissan Leaf. Still, we're here to test the tech and not the car. ProPilot Assist combines adaptive cruise control system combined with lane-keeping assistance. The system uses sonar, radar and a number of cameras for some light semi-autonomous driving and enhanced safety. While these systems aren't new individually, Nissan's system is affordable, intuitive, and coming to a mainstream product — democratizing the tech in a novel way, if you will. That's why it's here. The Lexus LC 500h uses a new powertrain that Lexus has dubbed the Multi-Stage Hybrid System. Basically it combines two types of transmissions — a CVT and a four-speed automatic — in a single unit mated to a naturally aspirated V6. That's complex and unorthodox technology, and Lexus engineered it to give drivers the efficiency of a CVT without sacrificing driving enjoyment. The package is subtle, working in the background to create a nearly seamless driving experience. It's engaging in a way most other hybrids can only dream of. The fact that it's wrapped in such gorgeous sheetmetal only makes things better. The Multimatic spool valve shocks in the Chevy Colorado ZR2 might seem low-tech compared to ProPilot Assist and the Lexus Multi-Stage Hybrid, but they represent a completely novel application of a technology that several years ago was so expensive that it was reserved for top-tier race cars. Like the LC 500h, these shocks really change your perception of how a vehicle like this should drive.
