1971 Chevelle Ss 502 Efi Pro Touring Air Bagged 20"candy Coated Rotisserie Paint on 2040-cars
Woodinville, Washington, United States
AMAZING RESTO MOD NECK SNAPPER, EVERYTHING RESTORED I'm still working on locating original build photos that show everything being installed. I will post as I find them, but I can't guarantee I will. 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 502 EFI Fully Frame off, totally stripped and restored, every nut and bolt and done. Started with a rust free California Chevelle (I'm the 3rd owner) VIN: 136371L170085 Heart of the car is the aluminum head and intake crate zz502 EFI motor. Edelbrock ECU controller in cab for easy tune/adjustment Automatic TH 350 Transmission Front disc Wilwood Brakes House of Kolor Gold Flip Flop paint with Black Stripes. Full rotisserie paint job, all surfaces are sprayed. Paint job has never seen the rain it it's short life. Undercarriage highly detailed. Frame and suspension, highly detailed. Total powder coating. (I'm looking for build photos, but having a hard time locating them 12 bolt Posi Rear End w/ Strange Axles 3" Aluminized exhaust to rear dump (sounds perfect) Pro Touring car that is laser straight and so beautiful ,this is one of the best ss clones I've seen Under hood is highly detailed and completely painted to match body Aluminum Radiator by B Cool Tubular upper and lower front suspension control arms. All new Painless wiring with digital guages (note, builder never hooked up transmition to count mileage so it ready 0. I assure you this car rarely gets driving) All re-stuffed and wrapped interior. All new stereo with amps, American Racing 20" wheels in front and back an Z rated tires. All new weatherstrips throughout. Lots of attention to detail. On board air compressor and adjustable 4 way bags from cab remote or with key fob. You can adjust the car ride height to 100's of different positions to assure you always have the best look on the street or at the show. Pancake it out at the show or jack it up like a dragster. Controller allows for a custom preset ride height, so everytime you start car it goes to your preferred stance Trophy wining and quality throughout. I'm selling because new kids toys are taking over garage. One smaller not as showy car is all that space will allow, so I have to part with this absolute show car. It is only driven a 3-4 times a year and every time breaks necks and gets thumbs up from everyone young and old. I've truly loved this car and hate to see her go. I love just walking by it in the garage and admiring it. 2nd owner/builder did an absolute amazing job on everything on this car. I have misplaced all his original build photos, but still retain manuals for everything on the car. I have an appraisal from June 2006 that I used to insure the car at $75,000 In an effort to try and get this done right the first time I'm listing all issues with car: On mothers day I accidentally locked the keys in the trunk at the gas station. I tried to access by pulling rear seat, but amp and compressor mount wouldn't allow. I had to drill out trunk lock and drill bit just slipped a bit and there is a bee-bee size nick just around the trunk lock. (see picture) There is some slight paint burn on the fuel tank from exhaust. I've never tried to polish it out. I'm unsure of the correct way to address it. I'm not a motor-head and I really would only take the car out to drive, enjoy, wash and put back in the garage a few times a year. The battery that is currently in the car is a heavy crank lead battery. It has a polished aluminum mount and upper arms to receive an Optoma blue top gel battery. Since the car sat a lot, I went through 2 of the gel batteries because those type of batteries can't be brought down to 0% and back. They just die. The lead battery has been great, but to go to the show I would put a gel cap back in there because it just looks proper that way. Car also will come with a little pig tail 2amp trickle charging unit (not installed right now) that makes it fun for the show, where you can keep it plugged in and all the lights and stereo going while it is parked without losing the gel battery power. There is one very light paint chip at the top of the quarter panel where it meets the hood. Not from rubbing, and I have no idea when or how this happened it was like that when I purchased the car (see picture). Vehicle located in Woodinville, WA and open for preview before the auction ends (about 1 hr from Seatac international airport). This vehicle is sold as-is and where-is. $2000 PayPal deposit due 72 hours after auction end. Title is free and clear and vehicle is ready for transport. I'm available by e-mail, leave a phone number if you require a call back. Please enquire if you are serious and you plan on paying $$$ for the car. This isn't going to sell for $30,000, so don't inquire if that is your max bid. This isn't like the others on eBay this is done all the way around. If you can appreciate the extra $$$ put into chasis, body, motor and stance, then you can appreciate this car. Pictures of flaws and video (video is probably hardest it has been driven): |

Weekly Recap: BMW rolls out ambitious plug-in hybrid electric plan
Sat, Dec 6 2014"We believe that for the United States, this is going to be very important." – Julian Arguelles Let there be no doubt, BMW is serious about electric vehicles. The German automaker said this week it will make plug-in hybrid versions of all of its core models, an aggressive move that demonstrates its commitment to electric propulsion systems. BMW did not specify which vehicles will get the plug-in systems or provide a timeline for when they will arrive. But the announcement is clearly more than blustering, and the company revealed a 3 Series plug-in prototype this week at an event in France. BMW said the 3 Series uses a version of its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine (240 horsepower, 300 pound feet of torque) with an electric motor sandwiched between the engine and transmission in place of the torque converter. It has an all-electric range of 22 miles. A plug-in X5 with the same powertrain was also displayed alongside the 3 Series, though the X5 has been on the auto-show circuit for more than a year, including a recent stop in Los Angeles. Those two vehicles use "eDrive," and BMW's plans represent the first widespread transfer of its technology from development of the i3 and i8 models to more mainstream products. BMW said it's developing electric powertrains so they can be deployed rapidly across its range, and they are flexible enough to be used with fuel cells in future products. Enticingly, BMW is also working on a "Power eDrive" system, which debuted in a 5 Series GT concept at the event in France. This setup has two electric motors powered by a 20-kilowatt-hour battery pack, and when teamed with a four-cylinder turbo, pump out about 670 hp. Reinforcing BMW's commitment, the company will add more than 200 jobs at its factory in Dingolfing, Germany, to support electric-vehicle development. The moves come as BMW and other automakers diversify their portfolios while fuel economy and emissions regulations are getting tighter around the world. The United States has set a 54.5-mpg CAFE requirement for the 2025 model year. BMW said the electric vehicles were developed with an eye toward the US market, its government policies and its wide-ranging commuting styles. "We believe that for the United States, this is going to be very important," spokesman Julian Arguelles said. Ben Scott, a senior analyst in London with automotive research firm IHS, said BMW's moves are expensive – but necessary – to keep pace with the market.
Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit
Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
Chevy exec confirms SS production model reveal at Daytona on Feb 16
Wed, 06 Feb 2013The 2014 Chevrolet SS will make its racing debut for the 2013 Daytona 500, but the production version of the car will get its official unveiling on February 16 in Daytona, a week before The Great American Race. According to a report by Automotive News, the reveal has been confirmed by Jim Campbell, Chevy's US vice president of performance and motorsports. With the departure of the Dodge Charger, the new Chevrolet racecar will be the only competitor to feature a V8, rear-wheel-drive layout in both street and NASCAR form.
NASCAR fans will be able to see the new fullsize performance-oriented sedan on display in the festivities leading up to the Daytona 500, but the car won't go on sale until later in the year. The Australian-built Chevy SS will be a low-volume performance model, and it will be priced above the 2014 Impala, which starts at $27,535.
