I am selling my weekend cruiser. You are looking at a pearl red 1971 Chevy Malibu 350. I purchased it from a gentleman in California earlier this year. It has a small block Chevy 350 v8, a 4 barrel Edlebrock Carb, hei distributer, chrome valve covers, custom chrome air cleaner, and headers. THIS CAR HAS WORKING AIR CONDITIONING!!!! The ac system is the new r134 system and it preforms well. The exhaust is dual with chrome tips and I believe flow master mufflers(she purrs like a kitten...not too loud..but loud enough to get attention) The suspensions front and back are oem style with power steering. The front suspension was completely rebuilt at the local John Keating Chevy Dealership less than a month ago and drives great! The Malibu rides and drives as it should and is a lot of fun. The interior is a nice newer black carpet and seat upholstery front and back. The headliner is not perfect but looks great for the age. The dome light works... however, it does need a new cover (most auto parts stores have them in the help section for around $7). The sun visors are nice and match the headliner. The radio is a newer cd player. The speakers in the rear are 6x9 and the front ones are, I believe, 3in mounted below the dash(you can see in the pics).    It has   a nice after market performance steering wheel. This model Malibu came from the factory the idiot warning lights...so for piece of mind it has  water temp, oil pressure, and  volt gauges installed as seen in the pictures below the dash. Yes,these gauges work and are reliable. The paint is nice someone did a great job! Its is a older paint job it looks fantastic ! It doesn't hurt the car only has 58000 original miles on it. The only thing I would fix is the slight ding on the passenger rear quarter panel. It can be seen in the pics and was there when I bought the car. I have not seen any bad rust or areas bubbling up. All the chrome and logos look nice. Wheels and tires are new..Bf Goodrich Ta radials front and back rapped around new American Racing Torque Thrust mag wheels. The wheels have the correct offsets so they do not rub and look great! They have no curb rash or scratches. The engine starts fine and I have  had no problems with it. The transmission is a turbo 400. The transmission works great pulls through all the gears smooth and shifts correctly. I have probably only put about 150 miles on it since I bought and it gets lots of attention every it goes..a real crowd pleaser! Floor boards look good ...as I said before this was a Cali car and its really solid. This would be a great start to a SS clone or a pro touring car. I am only  selling this car do personal life issues and it is  not practical for me to keep it at this time.

Please feel free to call and ask any questions.

I can send any pics you would like to see and I will help with coordinating shipping if needed.

My name is Rik and I can reached at 832-618-8269.

The car is here in Houston area and is for sale locally. I reserve the right to close the auction if it sells in my local adds.

These classics are getting harder to find every day and climbing in price.  $$$$$$$

I have a clear title in hand....

The Malibu is ready to roll. Buy it and drive home today!

Here's why automakers roll out those Texas-themed pickup trucks

Thu, Sep 29 2016

Every year, automakers with a full-size truck link make a big show of the Texas State Fair, usually involving a reveal of a new model. Sometimes they show a whole new truck, and other times a special edition centered on the Lone Star state. While some people might write this off as a quirk of the industry, others might be wondering, "What's the big deal with Texas?" As it turns out, part of the big deal with Texas is big truck sales. According to Dave Sullivan, product analysis manager at AutoPacific, Texas buys more trucks than any other state in the country. It's not a small margin either. Edmunds.com, one in five trucks sold in the US are sold in Texas. The state also accounts for 15 percent of the country's large truck sales, which is more than twice that of California, the second largest truck market in America. Even when you break down sales only in Texas, trucks are a huge piece of the pie - Sullivan says that a quarter of new vehicle sales in Texas are trucks. One in five trucks sold in the US are sold in Texas. But it's not just sales that make truck builders give attention to Texas. As Sullivan explained, "Pickups are life in Texas." Both he and Hugh Milne, marketing and advertising manager for the Chevy Silverado line, said that trucks are key fixtures in Texas society, as both work trucks and luxury vehicles (or Texas Cadillacs as Milne called them). Milne said Texas is so important in the truck market that if you want to be successful in the rest of the country, "you've got to be successful in Texas." As for the State Fair, it has become a prime location for reveals in part because of the importance of the Texas market and because of how big the fair is. Milne also revealed that the State Fair also hosts its own auto show, so it's an ideal venue for a vehicle introduction. So there you have it. Why do truck builders obsess over Texas? It's because Texas obsesses over trucks. When you have one market that loves your product that much, you give it the attention it deserves. Why 2015 is going to be a huge year for trucks

Thu, Jan 22 2015

Nissan chief executive Carlos Ghosn took center stage to introduce the 2016 Titan last week at the Detroit Auto Show. He spoke of the truck's new features, impressive Cummins V8 diesel engine and the extensive amount of time and money required to build a modern, competitive pickup truck. "We have done all of this because we see opportunity – an opportunity in the unmet needs of today's American truck customers," Ghosn said. He was speaking about the Titan, but his thoughts echo the industry's mindset: When it comes to trucks, find an opportunity and attack. Even with CAFE regulations looming and fickle consumer preferences, investing in trucks is a no-brainer for automakers. Some consumers will always need a truck for their job or lifestyle. And some people will always want one, whether they need it or not. With that in mind, here are four reasons why the pickup-truck sector is more important than ever and poised for growth in 2015. View 24 Photos The Nissan Titan Is Back Okay, it never left, but the Titan hadn't been redesigned since its launch in 2003, and Nissan sold more NV200s than Titans in 2014. It's an understatement to say the truck was languishing. That all changes with the 2016 model. The Titan will come in two variants, a traditional fullsize competitor and the Titan XD. The XD will lead the market launch, and it arrives late this year. It's pitched as a "whitespace" offering, Nissan sales and marketing vice president Fred Diaz said. The idea is to offer something in the general size and price range of a fullsize truck, but also have some of the capability of a heavy-duty truck. The XD uses a fully boxed ladder frame, the chassis design from Nissan's commercial division, and the wheelbase is about 20 inches longer than other Titan models. The XD, which Nissan is calling the flagship of the line, will be the only model with the 5.0-liter Cummins turbodiesel V8. It produces 310 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque, while being able to tow 12,000 pounds. V6 and V8 gasoline models will also be offered on the Titan XD and the standard, non-XD model. When production ramps up, the Titan will be sold with several cabs, beds and trims. New features include trailer sway control, an integrated trailer brake controller, more storage options in the cabin and even laminated front and rear side glass to reduce outside noise. All of this has given Nissan fresh confidence in an area where it admittedly has been lacking. "We can compete," Diaz told Autoblog.

So, how do you actually pronounce that automaker's name?

Thu, Jan 21 2016

You probably have that friend who always says Porsche wrong, or maybe it's someone who keeps reminding you it's actually two syllables. Whichever side of the pronunciation debate you fall on, you'll find someone to root for in the video above. And before you ask, this was all the video team's idea. So don't get mad at me for being the voice of reason. BMW Chevrolet Hyundai Nissan Rolls-Royce Videos Original Video nissan qashqai
