Your bidding on a 1969  Chevelle SS 396 clone that is exact in every way except a date coded drive train and documentation.  this car was purchased in Arlington Texas in 1995 where it had been sitting in a barn since 1979.  So the car had only been driven 10 years before I purchased it.  the car has been road worthy since 2011.  Since  then I have put about 3500 miles on it.

the car was originally a Malibu that was Butternut Yellow and a black interior.  I changed that to Monaco Orange (aka higher Orange) and a parchment interior.  chrome trim is mostly original to the car except the 3 horizontal grill moulding .  All window trim is original and has been polished, NOS wheel well trim and fender emblems were used as well.  the front bumper is a reproduction while the back one is a rechromed original.

Paint:  chroma base DuPont with clear applied in 2009.
Engine:  454 bored .030 with forged domed pistons built by "Ohio" George Montgomery.
Trans: 400 Turbo
Rear end:  12 Bolt With a new Eaton posi traction and new 3.73 ring and pinion.
Interior:  Bucket Seats and console. Seat covers and door panels by Legendary Interiors.
Brakes: All new lines, master cylinder, brake booster, rotors, caliper, dust shields, distribution block, rear drums and hardware.
Rubber:  All rubber seals have been replaced.
Wiring:  All electrical wiring harnesses have been replaced with M&H and AAW.
Wheels&Tires:  Wheels are the 1969 YA code with original caps and trim rings.  BFGoodrich 245x60x14 with 3/4 tread left.
Instruments:  Factory Tach and Gauge Cluster restored by Specialty Instruments.
Suspension: control arm bushing front and rear, all components of the front suspension replaced, new gear box, GM rear sway                      bar with boxed control arms.

The car drives good and runs great.  Oil pressure when warmed up is about 45-50 at steady cruise on the highway and at rest in gear has about 30-35 psi at 750 rpms at idle.  if I can answer any questions you might have call me at 937-750-0223.  I will gladly answer them.  I don't want to sell this one but I have another project that is waiting in the wings because of limited space and funds and letting this one go to a good home would help that one as well.

If dealers call me I don't think your going to like my bottom price so you can sell it for a major profit.  No trades and I will not sell to anyone that is outside the borders of the US.

General Motors Recalls Nearly 780,000 Cars To Fix Deadly Problem

Thu, Feb 13 2014

General Motors is recalling nearly 780,000 compact cars in North America because the engines can shut down unexpectedly and cause crashes. The company says six people have been killed in crashes related to the problem. The recall affects Chevrolet Cobalts and Pontiac G5s from the 2005 through 2007 model years. U.S. safety regulators say the weight of the key ring and rough roads can move the ignition switch out of the run position, cutting the engine and electricity. If that happens, air bags may not work. GM says there have been 22 crashes from the problem. All happened at high speeds. Dealers will replace the ignition switch for free. GM says owners should remove nonessential items from key rings until the problem is fixed. Next Chevy Silverado could get this built-in tailgate step

Thu, Feb 2 2017

General Motors just received patent approval for a tailgate step in a pickup bed. And given the timing, don't be surprised if you see this on the upcoming 2019 Silverado pickup (not the mention its GMC Sierra twin), expected to arrive in late 2018. According to the patent, granted in December of last year, the whole mechanism is housed in the tailgate assemble. The magic happens when a portion of the top half of the tailgate swings down and a step folds out. There's also a handle that locks into position to help climb up into the bed. As trucks get bigger and taller over the years, it gets harder and harder to access the cargo bed. Ford's solution with the 2009 F-150 was a step that slides out from the end of the tailgate. Back then, Chevy made an ill-advised ad highlighting the feature for Ford. And while Howie Long mocked the F-150's "man step" Ford saw almost a third of its trucks with the option in the first year. The GM design seems to improve on Ford's idea as it appears to be wider and has a back to the lower step. That is, you don't have to worry about stepping through the ladder-rung design as on the F-150. Ford's tailgate step later spread to the F Super Duty, and other cargo access assists have proliferated through the truck world. On the most recent redesign, the Chevrolet Silverado took a trick from the Avalanche and added cutouts to the corners of the rear bumper that act as a foothold. Ford also offers a deployable side step, Chevrolet has running boards that scoot rearward with a kick of the boot, and Ram offers fixed wheel-to-wheel side rails. Nissan is in on the game too, with an optional folding step that tucks under the rear bumper. We don't expect Chevrolet to comment on when or if we'll see this feature in the showrooms. But given that engineers are already hard at work on the next Silverado and the timing of this patent lines right up with the new truck's development cycle, we'll be disappointed if this patent stays in the file cabinet. GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title

Thu, 12 Sep 2013

General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.
