Listed is my 1969 Chevelle.  I am selling the car with all extra parts that I have acquired over the years.  As it sits, the car has a small block 350 that is .30 over.  Forged Crank, 4 bolt main, .630 solid roller comp cam with DART heads.  Victor JR intake with Holly 750 Double pumper carb.  This is a very solid 10.5/1 motor that runs 8.0 in the 1/8th mile with street tires.  Turbo 350 transmission with full manual valve body behind a Hughes Performance 3000 stall.  12 bolt rear end with 4.11 Posi.  3" exaust running through Cherry Bomb Race Mufflers that goes to the rear bumper.  I have an X pipe that will come with it but has not been installed.  Parts included that need to be installed or sold....  4 wheel power disk brake set up.  454 block, heads, cam, tunnel ram, 2 850 holly double pumper carbs.  The 454 top end just mentioned is a matched set of Rectangle port heads that have been port matched to the intake and came out of a Drag motor that broke a rod.  I have the the 4 bolt block and crank from that motor as well but they need some machine work.  extra 350 and 400 transmission.  Engine stand, Hoist, and 305 small block engine as well.  Many other parts I am forgetting.  Time to get out of the hot rod hobby.  If it is car related and not a tool in my garage, it goes.  The body on this car is very solid.  Minor Rust behind front wheel wells.  Floor pans are in very good condition.  You will not be disappointed with this car for a restoration project.  My dad bought me this car in 1987.  Good Luck and I will try to answer any questions I can.  Please note that Milage is not actual.  This car has been rebuilt and is not original.

Car Club USA: Louisiana Mudfest

Tue, Jun 16 2015

There's nothing quite like mudding. Big tires, huge power, and crazy-wild gearheads that like to throw down on a mud pit almost as much as a thirty rack of Coors. In the latest, and some might argue greatest yet episode of Car Club USA, we head to Louisiana to throw some dirt at Mudfest. As Louisiana's one and only Mouth of the South puts it, "If you don't mud ride... go to Texas I guess." Joining The Mouth and friendly rivals The Most Hated Mud Sluts, we dive in. Beyond the obvious V8 blasting and tractor-tire spinning, those who know best describe Mudfest as, "Good cooking, good friends, good fun, and a lot of partying." It's a motorsport spectacle unlike any you're likely to find up North or out West, though no less impressive to behold. Follow along with the fun, the impromptu drag racing, the trash talking, and the mechanical madness. And find out why, at Mudfest, "if we don't tear it up, we ain't done it right." Each Car Club USA episode features a different car club or event from across the US, where passionate owner communities gather to share automotive experiences and embark on incredible adventures. From Main Street cruises to off-road trails, catch all the latest car club activity on Autoblog. Chevrolet Ford Jeep RAM Truck Off-Road Vehicles Car Club USA Videos autoblog black

Chevy working on production Impala Midnight Edition

Sat, Dec 13 2014

To put together the Impala Blackout concept for SEMA, Chevrolet didn't need to go much further than its accessories catalog. The in-house connection is what could make it possible for Chevy to get a production version of the Blackout into dealers this model year, with its few bits of chrome trim and dark detailing on the 19-inch aluminum wheels set into an abyss of gloss black paint, black Bowtie, grille surround, rear spoiler and mirror caps. The interior is black leather, with stainless steel for the sill plates and pedals, and an 11-speaker Bose audio system, and it gets the optional 305-horsepower, 3.6-liter V6. The brand's marketing director for cars and crossovers, Steve Majoros, told Edmunds that it could come in late spring, and that it will be called "Midnight Edition." Majoros didn't give any indication of pricing or if the production car will be spec'd out like the concept. If you simply don't want to wait for late spring, you could work your DIY mojo by putting one together the same way Chevrolet did: give the accessories catalog a workout. Related Video:

Vert-A-Pac train cars kept your Chevy Vega's price in check

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

Our apologies to those who've seen this before, but for the rest of the class, how awesome are these pictures of the Vert-A-Pac shipping system General Motors came up with to ship the Chevrolet Vega back in the 1970s? Developed along with Southern Pacific Railroad, GM was able to double the amount of Vega models it could ship by packing them into the unique storage cars vertically.
At the time, rail cars could fit 15 vehicles each, but Chevrolet was able to lower shipping costs by making it possible to ship 30 Vegas per rail car, in turn allowing the price of the Vega to remain as low as possible. Each rail car had 30 doors that would fold down so that a Vega could be strapped on, and then a forklift would come along and lift the door into place. All the cars were positioned nose down, and since they were shipped with all of their required fluids, certain aspects had to be designed specifically for this type of shipping, including an oil baffle in the engine, a special battery and even a repositioned windshield washer reservoir. See for yourself in our image gallery above.
