1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Ss Project Car Pro Street Tubbed on 2040-cars
Belmar, New Jersey, United States
67 Chevelle SS clone X race car, tubbed, caged, ladder bar suspension. This car is in great shape, had new quarters and floors put in ten years ago, garaged since. Has some bubbles on front fender corners and door corners, easily fixed, has scratches and chips, but looks good. Hood is glass, and can be hinged. Trunk is metal pin on, but I would replace or repair it. Has been changed over to ladder bar suspension, reinforced frame, 456 brute strength 12 bolt posi. Motor is a 400 plus horsepower 68 350, punched 30 over, has a big, lumpy cam, aluminum manifold, Edelbrock 750, electric high volume racing fuel pump, fuel cell, trunk mounted battery, worked turbo 350 with stahl converter. Car runs awesome, Motor and trans came out of a friends Nova, has very low miles, over $3000 invested in just the motor. Have new SS chrome dash ribbed panel for above the glove box and new black SS dash center instead of wood grain, and comes with a pair of 67 Chevelle bucket seats that need re done. Car was raced for past 25 years, was turning it into a PRO STREET car. Car needs wiper setup, rear tail light harness, horn, exhaust to be street legal. This car will snap your neck off the line, needs a nice set of gauges, does have a nice Monster tach. Car is not perfect, needs work to be street legal, but runs, stops and steers great. Any questions, feel free to call or text me during normal business hours 908-907-2414. If you win, I want a call right away at the end of the auction, please do not bid unless you know you can take delivery of it. Clear NJ title

GM dealers unhappy about pickup prices
Mon, 21 Oct 2013The backlash is beginning. Following General Motors' price hike of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra last week, dealers across the country are expressing their ire over increasing prices in the face of rebates and discounts on trucks from Ford and Ram.
Speaking to Automotive News, Sam Pilato, the general manager at Dimmitt Chevrolet in Clearwater, FL, Silverados are "selling very poorly." W. Carrol Smith, the president of Monument Chevrolet in the heart of truck country, Texas, said, "[GM's] position is that the vehicle stands on its own and it doesn't need a bigger rebate. That's not what the market is telling us."
According to AN, that's the general attitude amongst Chevy and GMC dealers across the country, where the twin pickups are getting butchered in sales by competitors offering up to $9,000 off their sticker prices. Part of the problem for GM is that its trucks are arriving on the market near the end of the current F-150's lifecycle, a fact that Ford has taken advantage of.
Looking back at the Citation IV concept that likely shaped the GM EV1
Wed, Aug 20 2014Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it. We're not sure how that applies to the GM EV1, but we'd still like to share something from Autoline Daily, an online automotive new show with our friend John McElroy. He's been covering the business for decades now and recently found something interesting: pictures of the 1984 Chevrolet Citation IV concept, seen above. Displayed half a decade before the first electric concept that would become the EV1 (inset), McElroy says it's now clear that the elegant, aerodynamic EV1 took a lot of styling cues from the Citation IV, which was developed in part thanks to GM's new-at-the-time Aerodynamics Laboratory. We agree with him that the spats over the rear wheels, the flush glass, and the covered headlights all bear a certain kind of similarity between the two cars. That the colors almost match is a nice coincidence. The Impact (the concept version of the EV1) looked "frumpier," McElroy says, because it wasn't as long as the Citation. You can read a lot more about the Citation IV here and check out McElroy's thoughts in the video below. Find the Citation starting at around 3:45. This content is hosted by a third party. Chevy Crossvolt name kept alive in new trademark application
Fri, Dec 26 2014In April 2011 General Motors submitted a trademark application with the US Patent and Trademark Office for the word "Crossvolt." In November of this year, the application expired for lack of a statement of use. But in August of this year, GM applied again for the same trademark, leading some to believe that it intends to apply the name to a vehicle. That vehicle could explain the mule in sliced-and-diced Chevrolet Orlando bodywork caught in several spy shots this year, theorized to be some kind of Toyota Prius V or Ford C-Max Hybrid competitor; or it could be a production version of the Chevrolet Volt MP5 concept showed off at the Beijing Motor Show in 2010, which was about the same size as the Chevy Orlando. Or it could be none of those things – but the fact that Chevrolet is keeping it current makes us believe it will be... something.
