1995 Chevrolet Caprice 9c1 Lt1, Unmarked Police Package, 89k Low Miles, Rare!!! on 2040-cars
Canal Winchester, Ohio, United States
|
This is one of the last of it's kind available anywhere. This 1995 Chevrolet Caprice Classic 9C1 is an original, low-mileage car that is in good shape for it's age. It is finished in Medium Adriatic Blue Clearcoat Metallic, one of the most desirable colors available on the Caprice. If you are searching for the ultimate Chevrolet Police Package vehicle this may be the only opportunity you have to find one with this kind of mileage...
You are viewing an extremely low-mileage, always unmarked, loaded 1995 Chevrolet Caprice Classic with the coveted "9C1 Police Package". The 9C1 includes all of the heavy-duty and performance options, in addition to a lot of "police specific" items. This vehicle is highly sought after and they are known to last for hundreds of thousands of miles. The fuel economy is fantastic (26-30 mpg on the highway) and with all of the heavy-duty components, will outlast nearly any vehicle in the world if maintained properly. These were, perhaps, the most famous police cars ever manufactured and have been rated by many as the best police car ever built. They are blindingly fast, and capable of speeds in excess of 150 mph. When these cars were introduced, they changed the entire game. Recently out of service from the State of Ohio, Department of Mental Health, where it was used very little it's entire time in service, with only 89,942 actual, documented miles on it. This car sat more than it was used, according to the State of Ohio. It was the only car that they still owned that was this old, and they had no idea it was even still in their fleet when it was turned in. This is a decent example of a very rare, hard to find car in the most "in-demand" color. The original finish is in good shape and this vehicle has an absolutely spotless Carfax report. It has never been involved in any accidents and has never had any paintwork or damage repaired. This car is far from perfect, so do NOT expect a new car...it is a nearly 20 year-old car that was just taken out of service last fall. Recent work that was done on the car (within the last couple of hundred miles) includes; brand-new front brakes, new "Optispark" distributor, newly re-programmed computer, new fuel pump, fresh oil change, complete coolant system flush and re-fill, new brake master cylinder, new spark plugs, new spark plug wires, and new coolant temperature sending unit. The fuel gauge operates erratically and may have a loose ground, the A/C functions and is complete but does not blow very cold, and it does have a slight exhaust leak which is probably a muffler that will need replaced. There is wear on the driver's side carpet (as with most Caprices) but overall, the interior is pretty decent. These are the deficiencies we have noted, but as with any used car there may be other items that need attention that we are unaware of. The car runs and drives great, there are no "check engine" lights or otherwise on, and I have personally put a few hundred miles on it myself over the last couple of weeks. It runs cool, smooth and fast and the transmission shifts perfectly. Overall, a decent example of a hard to find car. It is NOT a show car, nor is it in "mint" or "perfect" condition, it is an original, unmolested survivor that should be preserved and driven, or restored to perfection if someone wants to someday...of course, enjoying it as it is would be what I would do for now. This vehicle had a spotlight, which was removed when it was placed into service, and the hole was sealed (this could be replaced easily if you desire). It never had a light bar or decals installed anywhere. It has never been in regular police service. There is one hole drilled with an antenna mount on the rear 1/4 panel. I can place an antenna on the mount if the winning bidder so desires. This unit includes all of the options you would expect on a 9C1 Caprice...power mirrors, power windows (with driver's window "express down" feature), rear window defogger, power locks, full body side moldings, factory AM/FM stereo, driver and passenger side airbags, cruise control, full-factory carpeting, Medium Blue bucket front seating with matching rear bench seat. These items, of course, are just the beginning of the list of equipment on this car. It is finished in the factory Medium Adriatic Blue Clearcoat Metallic finish with Medium Blue interior. This is one of the most beautiful colors available on the Caprice. All of the factory manuals and all of the documentation from the State of Ohio are included with the vehicle, and are in place in the glove box. The original, full size spare tire is in place in the trunk with the factory spare tire cover still present. This unit is also equipped with, of course, the full "9C1" police package which includes the 5.7-liter LT1 (350 cubic-inch) H.O. V8 engine, 4-speed overdrive heavy-duty transmission, 3.08 rear axle ratio, Good Year Eagle RS-A 225-70VR-15 police-spec, ultra-high performance radials mounted on the factory, heavy-duty, 15" vented police wheels with factory bolt-on police center caps, dual exhaust, 4-wheel disc brakes, severe-duty suspension, heavy-duty cooling, heavy-duty frame, engine oil cooler, power steering fluid cooler, transmission low-gear blockout, certified police speedometer, silicone radiator and heater hoses, instrumentation light shut-off ("blackout") switch, and much, much more. For those of you who know Chevrolet police cars, you are probably already aware that the Caprice police sedans were the cars that the Impala SS's were based on. They were known to be better performing and have actually become harder to find as not many survived. Caprices like this one are becoming nearly extinct, so here's your opportunity if you've been looking for one in a rare and desirable color combination with low mileage. These are the Caprices that aficionados lust after, and this is an unmolested example. It is very responsive, smooth-shifting and, of course, very fast. This unit is in good overall condition and has less than the normal wear and tear you would expect to find on a used police vehicle. This vehicle, as most used police vehicles do, however, will have imperfections...this typically includes; scratches, chips, nicks, dings, rust, etc....that being said, this car has no known major mechanical defects and it runs and drives good. Please, keep in mind, we strive to find the nicest used vehicles possible, but they are still used vehicles. This 1995 Chevrolet Caprice 9C1 will sell to the high bidder at the end of the auction, this is a NO RESERVE AUCTION. Please complete all inspections BEFORE bidding...if you win the auction, you own the vehicle. I welcome any and all questions you might have prior to bidding on this Caprice. I do reserve the right to end the auction early if the vehicle sells locally prior to the end of auction (please call if you like). I am a law-enforcement officer as well and as such, work long hours so you are free to call me as late in the evening as you like. I can be reached anytime at (614) 893-3857. I will take calls 24/7 up until the end of the auction.Winning bidder agrees to forward a 25% partial payment (unless a lesser amount is agreed upon PRIOR to the end of the auction) at end of auction via direct bank wire transfer or by overnighted cashier's check, money order or certified funds. Balance will be due within seven days of end of auction or at time of pick up or delivery, whichever comes first. I will help in any way possible to arrange transportation. I can store the vehicle for up to 90 days, until pick up can be arranged, as long as it's paid for in full. I may be able to deliver this vehicle personally, depending on your location, at a reduced rate. I have been buying, selling and driving unique, specialty vehicles for over ten years now and take pride in offering only low-mileage vehicles that are not "run of the mill", beat-up cars and trucks. I specialize in the hard to obtain cars, SUV's and trucks, Dodge Hemi Charger and Ram 5.9 Cummins Diesel trucks, Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor and 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel trucks, Chevrolet Impala and Caprice 9C1 and 9C3 police vehicles, collectible and rare cars, trucks and vans. If there are any questions at all, again, please don't hesitate to call me at (614) 893-3857. I will answer all e-mails as quickly as possible. Thanks and good luck! Because of people who bid and do not contact me or pay, I am being forced to implicate a rule pertaining to low-feedback bidders. ANY BIDDER WHO BIDS, WITH A FEEDBACK OF 5 OR LESS, WILL HAVE THEIR BID RETRACTED IMMEDIATELY unless they contact me first, prior to bidding. I hope everyone understands, and I thank our hundreds of happy customers, but a few bad apples have spoiled the proverbial bunch. Thanks for understanding. Please remember, this is a used government vehicle and it is not new. It is, however, in better condition than most like vehicles you will see. As such, it will have flaws consistent with the miles and age of the vehicle, and with government use. That being said, it is in good shape and runs & looks good. It is not what you would typically expect, or what you will find elsewhere for sale. Please, if you want to come and look at it, do so BEFORE bidding...or call me, as always, at 614-893-3857 or e-mail me and I will answer any questions you may have. Thanks! |

Volvo and GM team with Amazon for in-car deliveries
Tue, Apr 24 2018Volvo and GM are the first automakers to pair their vehicles with a new service from Amazon that lets owners have their packages delivered inside their cars, without them having to be there. The service will initially be rolled out in 37 U.S. cities at no extra charge to Amazon Prime members with a Volvo On Call or OnStar account, and it works with same-day, two-day and standard shipping. It's intended as an alternative for people who don't want to risk having their package stolen from their front porch or receive deliveries at their workplace, and both automakers say it's an example of how they're embracing innovation as a way to make their customers' lives easier. Volvo released a video (above) showing how the service works. Users download the Amazon Key App (or " Ama-zin," as the narrator pronounces it) and link their Amazon Prime account with their Volvo On Call account — or OnStar, in the case of GM-branded vehicles. Once they register their delivery location in a publicly accessible location, users can select the "In-Car" option at checkout. They get a notification when the delivery is en route and once it's completed and the car is relocked. Volvo has been offering in-car delivery in certain European countries since 2015 through its Volvo On Call platform, which enables services like the ability to send calendar-based navigation destinations directly to the vehicle, find nearby gas stations and help locate the vehicle when you forget where you parked it. Volvo says the platform is now available in roughly 50 countries and covers more than 90 percent of its global sales. The service is compatible with 2015 or newer Volvo, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC vehicles. Volvo says it's available to the majority of Volvo owners, while GM says more than 7 million vehicle owners can qualify. The service is expected to roll out to more cities later. You can check eligibility at amazon.com/keyincar. Related Video: Buick Cadillac Chevrolet GM GMC Volvo Technology Infotainment Amazon connected car volvo on call e-commerce
GM recalls 638,000 U.S. SUVs, trucks for unintended braking
Sat, Nov 2 2019WASHINGTON — General Motors is recalling 638,000 U.S. sport utility vehicles and pickup trucks because a wheel-speed sensor could fail and cause unintended braking, it said Thursday. The recall covers 2015-2020 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, and Yukon and 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles equipped with a 5.3-liter engine, a 3.08-ratio rear axle and four-wheel drive. The sensor failure could result in unintended activation of the driveline protection system, and cause unintended braking of the wheel on the opposite side of the failed sensor. That could cause the vehicle to pull to one side unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash, the Detroit automaker said. GM said it was not aware of any crashes relating to the issue but found 150 field claims alleging the condition caused unintended braking or lateral vehicle motion. A GM dealer in May submitted a warranty report relating to the issue in a 2018 GMC Yukon, and two days later, a GM brand quality manager submitted the report to GMÂ’s Speak Up For Safety program that tracks potential safety issues, which prompted a GM investigation and testing. Detroit 3 to implement delayed unified towing standards for 2015
Tue, Feb 11 2014Car buyers have a responsibility to be well-informed consumers. That's not always a very simple task, but some guidelines are self-evident. If you live in a very snowy climate, you generally know a Ford Mustang or Chevrolet Camaro might not be as viable a vehicle choice as an all-wheel drive Explorer or Traverse, for example. If you want a fuel-efficient car, it's generally a good idea to know the difference between a diesel and a hybrid. But what if it's kind of tough to be an informed consumer? What if the information you need is more difficult to come by, or worse, based on different standards for each vehicle? Well, in that case, you might be a truck shopper. For years, customers of light-duty pickups have had to suffer through different ratings of towing capacities for each brand. For 2015 model year trucks, though, that will no longer be a problem. According to Automotive News, General Motors, Ford and Chrysler Group have announced that starting with next year's models, a common standard will be used to measure towing capacity. The Detroit Three will join Toyota, which adopted the Society of Automotive Engineers' so-called SAE J2807 standards way back in 2011. The standard was originally supposed to be in place for MY2013, but concerns that it would lower the overall stated capacity for trucks led Detroit automakers to pass. Ford originally passed, claiming it'd wait until its new F-150 was launched to adopt the new standards, leading GM and Ram to follow suit. Nissan, meanwhile, has said it will adopt the new standards as its vehicles are updated, meaning the company's next-generation Titan should adhere to the same tow ratings as its competitors. While the adoption of SAE J2807 will be helpful for light-duty customers, those interested in bigger trucks will still be left with differing standards. There is no sign of the new tow standards being adopted for the heavy-duty market.
