1966 Chevy Caprice 2 Door Hard Top 283 3sp Manual On The Tree! on 2040-cars
Mancelona, Michigan, United States
"We welcome international bidders and will work with your shipping company and give you all the time you need to arrange for transport with free storage at our facility!"
Original 1966 Chevy Caprice 283, 3 on the tree! First year of the Caprice! Texas body original. Three speed standard on the column! Rare Aztec Brown on Aztec Brown color, see the vinyl, top nice. This car has literally been in a time capsule since the 80's when it was put in dry storage! It is as original and untouched as they come. See some light rust around rear wheels. The trunk, frame, and floors solid. It has a 283, three on the tree, with 88,000 original miles. Was brought out of storage and a new clutch, alternator, battery, and all the little things to make it run like new were professionally installed. We have put over 200 miles on it since all the work was done and it is a true firm, quiet, vintage, cruiser , we went over 100 miles at 70 mph plus. There are no fluid drips, or funny noises no smoke white or black coming out of the very quiet exhaust, it can be driven off the lot to anywhere in the country without a doubt. Radio and clock does not work and blinkers have to be used by hand up and down to flash. All the lights work otherwise. Needs a latch for the middle front seat console. It has original paint, interior, everything as this 1 owner car originally came with, see door jams and interior! Headliner tight with one small quarter size hole. Dash a couple of splits, really not bad, drivers side windshield has a crack running down it on far left. Its not perfect, but it is pretty nice, see pics and ask questions. Great car to frame off restore or just drive it like it is this summer and restore it as a winter project, we recently took this on a 100 mile test run at speeds up to 80mph, no mechanical issues whatsoever! Note: $200 down payment required within 24 hours of auction close, balance due within 1 week. |

Mary Barra reportedly confirms GM's electric pickup truck plans
Tue, Apr 30 2019According to Motor Authority, CEO Mary Barra confirmed General Motors' intentions to build an electric pickup truck this week. Whether or not it would be an all-new vehicle is unknown. The news comes not even a week after Ford announced a $500 million investment in electric-vehicle startup Rivian. First, electric powertrains were integrated into cars. Then came the crossovers and the SUVs. Naturally, then, the next wave will be pickup trucks. Ford is set to produce an electric F-150, Rivian has the R1T, and now General Motors has reportedly confirmed its plans to introduce a competitor into the field. The article says the topic was brought up in a recent investor call as part of a brief overview of the automaker's electrification strategy. That's where the details end, however, as there is no indication of a timeline, what GM brand would carry the truck, or whether it would be an entirely new product or an adaptation of a current model. The latter seems most likely, which points to the Chevrolet Silverado or the GMC Sierra as possibilities. Chevrolet has been GM's electrification leader this decade with the Bolt and Volt, so an electric Silverado would align well with that messaging and branding. However, an electric pickup would likely be a pricier premium product, which could align it better with GMC. Autoblog has reached out to GM for comment and will update this space when we get a response. GM recalls 3.6 million vehicles for airbag-software problems
Fri, Sep 9 2016The Basics: General Motors is recalling 3.64 million vehicles across its lineup for an airbag-related issue. The recall covers the 2014-2015 Buick LaCrosse, Chevrolet SS, and Spark EV; 2014-2017 Chevrolet Corvette, Trax, Caprice PPV, Silverado 1500, Buick Encore, and GMC Sierra 1500; and 2015-2017 Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, Silverado HD, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, Sierra HD, Cadillac Escalade, and Escalade ESV. The Problem: Affected vehicles have a sensing and diagnostic module that controls the airbags and seat-belt pretensioners. The software it uses has a defect that can prompt the module to run a diagnostic test under specific driving conditions, which will also deactivate the front airbags and pretensioners. This means that it would be possible for those safety systems to not activate in a crash, potentially leading to injury or death. Injuries/Deaths: General Motors began an investigation that led to the recall after a 2014 Silverado was involved in a crash in which the airbags did not deploy. No information was given as to injuries or deaths. The Fix: Owners can bring their vehicles to a local General Motors dealer where a software update will be installed to fix the issue. The fix will be free of charge. If you own one: General Motors will contact owners of affected cars, and owners can check whether their vehicles are affected by visiting entering their vehicle identification numbers at either the GM Owner Center website or the NHTSA website. Owners can then schedule a time to have the update installed. Related Video:
Next-gen Chevy Cruze caught cruising in the cold
Wed, 13 Feb 2013Spy photographers have caught what looks like the next-generation Chevrolet Cruze out on snow patrol. The camo could be tricking our eyes, but it look like it has an even tidier, more rounded front end and even lower fenders in relation to the top of the hood. And either a chunk of camo has been wedged between the side mirrors and the doors, or the mirrors are up for revision, too.
The door handles have been moved up the side of the car, leading the way to a rear end that grows a bit in length. If the rumors are true, the coming second-generation Cruze sits on the new D2XX platform that will replace the Delta and Theta platforms at General Motors. A global architecture, the Cruze will be the first to get it, but it will underpin everything from next Chevrolet Volt to the Equinox and could be responsible for 2.5 million units by 2018. The next Cruze is expected to begin production in GM's Lordstown, Ohio plant in the third quarter of 2014.
