Beautiful Mulsanne Blue Restomod

Art & Speed is proud to present the newest addition to our inventory an absolutely stunning 1971 Camaro RS 350.

This Restomod is a ground-up restoration on a rust free, Southern car. The pictures will show that there was absolutely no stone left unturned on this restoration. Premium quality components abound throughout this car. And in addition to all the attention to detail, this car comes with some very well deserved, and very recent prominence...this car is a 2013 Super Chevy Winner!

As you glance through the pictures, you will quickly be drawn to the beautiful lines that are accented so well by the show quality Mulsanne Blue base coat / clear coat finish with black Z28 stripes. Every inch of chrome is of the highest quality, with the original show-chromed GM bumpers still accenting the front and rear of this ride.

Every single piece of this car is either original or GM sheet metal, which adds to not only the nostalgia of the car, but the pride with which this ride was built. Riding on custom chrome plated "fat-lip" American Racing Torq-Thrust wheels, its lowered stance adds that extra bit of detail that lets the driver and everyone lucky enough to see her know that this car is all about aggression.

The interior is not your typical second-generation Camaro. Its truly a sight and pleasure to see. Starting with the brushed billet steering wheel with custom engraved horn logo, you will immediately be drawn to the details. The gauge panel is accented with custom carbon fibre and gauges that are absolutely striking. Everywhere you look, you will see more billet, more custom products, more attention to detail, more technology, and pure exhilaration!

As if the exterior and interior weren't enough, now we get to the main attraction...what's under the hood. So, before you ask...yes, you'll find over 400 horses all exploding out of a 383 stroker V8. Complete with performance cam, Holly four barrel, Edlebrock intake, and Turbo Hydramatic Transmission, this car is mean and nasty in all the right ways. Trust us... just listening to this car idle is a true delight thanks to the headers and dual FlowMaster exhaust. From the second this car fires, you can tell that it was made for performance and power... two of our most favorites things here at Art & Speed.

This car is an absolute pleasure to drive. It's a pleasure to admire. It's a pleasure to hear. Everything about this Camaro is pleasing to every sense. In this vehicle, quality meets tradition, and old meets new. This car has everything you're looking for. She won the first show that she entered, and there are surely many more to come. It is truly our pleasure here at Art & Speed to offer this beautiful Camaro RS... and it will be your pleasure to own it!

'84 MotorWeek Cherokee, Bronco and Blazer comparison indulges your SUV nostalgia

Fri, Jan 16 2015

These days, truck-based, full-frame SUVs are somewhat of a rarity on the auto landscape due to the rapid rise in popularity of easier-driving, car-based crossovers. Although, without the gradually building popularity of these chunky, high-riding vehicles decades ago, it's unlikely that America's roads would be filled with so many CUVs today. In its latest dig into the archives, MotorWeek has found a 1984 comparison test of a trio of these early Sport Utility Wagons, as long-time host John Davis called them, that helped get acceptance of this segment going. This is a red, white and blue test of the SUVs from American automakers at the time and pits the Chevrolet Blazer, Ford Bronco and Jeep Cherokee (specifically in Wagoneer guise) against each other. Driving manners and interior usability are considered in the evaluation, but Motorweek actually takes these vehicles off road, too. Among the bigger revelations is the improvement in on-road ability in the past 30 years. While specific 0-60 times aren't given, all three models take around 10 seconds just to get to around 50 miles per hour in the 500-feet on-ramp acceleration test. Check out this clip to see just how far this segment has progressed in the past three decades or just get a blast of nostalgia from these now vintage models. Chevy Bolt wins 2017 Green Car of the Year

Thu, Nov 17 2016

We knew that a plug-in vehicle was going to win the 2017 Green Car of the Year award this year, given that all five finalists have a way to charge up. And when Ron Cogan, the editor and publisher of Green Car Journal, announced the winner – the 2017 Chevy Bolt EV – he said that the car itself represents one of those times in the auto industry when everything is about to change. Similar to the invention of the starter motor, things are about to get different. For now, though, the fact that the Bolt EV won an award sounds like the same old thing all over again. Just this week, it was named Motor Trends Car of the Year and to the Car And Driver Top 10 list. The other four finalists for Green Car of the Year included the Toyota Prius Prime, the Chrysler Pacifica, the Kia Optima (including hybrid and plug-in hybrid models) and the BMW 330e iPerformance. Last year, the winner was the 2016 Chevy Volt. Did Green Car Journal make the right selection this year? See the award ceremony below.

Watch Evo pick its 2015 Car of the Year in this epic video

Mon, Dec 7 2015

With just a few days left in 2015, it's the perfect time to check out Evo's annual Car of the Year test to determine the greatest performance vehicle of the last 12 months. The writers' picks for the 11 finalists spanned a breadth of engaging models and included: Peugeot 208 GTi by Peugeot Sport, Lamborghini Aventador SV, Seat Leon Cupra Sub8, McLaren 675LT, Porsche 991 GT3 RS, Porsche Cayman GT4, Honda Civic Type R, Ferrari 488 GTB, Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, Lotus Evora 400, and Mercedes-AMG GT S. For the venue to test the mettle of these performance machines, Evo stuck close to home this year and visited the twisting roads at the beautiful north coast of Scotland. Racing brothers Marino and Dario Franchitti also came along for the ride to provide two more voices in the competitive challenge to determine a winner. Evo's video explains why each model deserves to be among such rarified company but doesn't gloss over their faults either. There can be only one winner, though. We don't want to spoil it, so check out the clip for magnificent views of these performance machines through the Scottish countryside.
