1991 Camero Convertible That Runs Great And Still Turns Heads! on 2040-cars
Wilmington, North Carolina, United States
This is a great example of a 1991 Camero Convertible. Red on Red was the hottest color package in 1991 and probably still today. You can't drive this car anywhere without turning heads! For whatever reason this vehicle draws the attention. The best thing about this car is IT RUNS GREAT! I drive it as a second car but often drive it to work and around town and with the relative low mileage it has become a very reliable extra car for my family. My son has driven it to college in Virginia from North Carolina on many occasions and it has NEVER left anybody high and dry! ; ) It has pretty new tires on it and it has been maintained mechanically very well. My son really wants me to keep this car because this vehicle is about to become a classic and should become much more valuable in the near future. So owning this car makes sense on several levels. I am tempted to keep it for this reason but we now have 6 cars for a family of 3 and it's getting a bit ridiculous in our driveway!?# This car is NOT in MINT condition. The seat belt buckles up front function but look like they have seen better days. There is a tiny bit of body work that could be done on the back spoiler of this car. But standing 10 feet away it looks perfect.. There are a few places where the paint is not perfect. But overall ...driving down the street with top down...this car has the look that gets attention...and it's fun to drive. It starts up every time and the engine has a respectable growl to it that lets you know it will get you where you want to go!

Looking back at the Citation IV concept that likely shaped the GM EV1
Wed, Aug 20 2014Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it. We're not sure how that applies to the GM EV1, but we'd still like to share something from Autoline Daily, an online automotive new show with our friend John McElroy. He's been covering the business for decades now and recently found something interesting: pictures of the 1984 Chevrolet Citation IV concept, seen above. Displayed half a decade before the first electric concept that would become the EV1 (inset), McElroy says it's now clear that the elegant, aerodynamic EV1 took a lot of styling cues from the Citation IV, which was developed in part thanks to GM's new-at-the-time Aerodynamics Laboratory. We agree with him that the spats over the rear wheels, the flush glass, and the covered headlights all bear a certain kind of similarity between the two cars. That the colors almost match is a nice coincidence. The Impact (the concept version of the EV1) looked "frumpier," McElroy says, because it wasn't as long as the Citation. You can read a lot more about the Citation IV here and check out McElroy's thoughts in the video below. Find the Citation starting at around 3:45. This content is hosted by a third party. Helicopter crashes on Top Gear Korea set while chasing Corvette ZR1
Mon, 11 Feb 2013The formula of Top Gear Korea is seemingly about the same as it is everywhere else in the world, including the flagship British original: involve interesting cars in fantastical situations with charismatic hosts. That prescription has proved to be pretty reliable over the years, and has lead to some truly memorable and exciting pieces of television.
Something like that was undoubtedly what the Korean producers were after when they lined up this segment - a drag race between a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and an AH1 Cobra military helicopter. The planners almost certainly did not expect the filming of the segment to go quite as wrong as it actually did, with the helicopter actually crashing into the dirt after the "drag race" had been completed. Thankfully, we're told that no one was seriously injured in the crash, but the footage, in the video below, is pretty damn chilling to watch, nevertheless.
