I bought this Camaro in 2005 from a guy who lived locally here in Illinois. Solid body and no rust. So I drove it for a few years with the original drivetrain (180hp!) and then decided to disassemble entire engine, trans and diffy. The car simply had no power...in fact my Honda pilot was quicker. The new parts are endless so but here are the basics, 73k original miles, very clean inside and out, always garaged, hard to find color combo white ext black int, original paint still looks great (not a perfect ten) fenders all original and like new! Tires are in like new condition, shocks , brakes all around including rotors are new, interior is very nice no rips, tears, or cracks, headliner is a "10", radio is not original, the block was tanked, bored 30 over, 750 holley street avenger carb, edelbrock performer rpm air gap intake, pro comp aluminum heads, 200cc intake runners and 2.02 inch intake valves, 1.60 exhaust, hypereutectic pistons, comp cam hydrolic flat tappet xtreme, 240 intake, 246 exhaust, 110 lobe separation, cast steel crank, 7 quart morosso oil pan, 11-1 comp, runs cool at 190 degrees all day. Complete rebuild turbo 350 transmission to withstand 650hp, 2600 stahl and shift kit. New rear end, 411 gear, new posi. Frame has frame connectors, air induction flappers work! Looks harmless at the car shows till you fire it up.450hp, pump gas. I don't get to drive or enjoy the car much, have three little kids know and must make room in garage, this car is fun, fast and a very reliable street car that just sounds amazing at any rpm!! Thanks for looking and happy bidding. ps. I have no feedback because I never bought or sold anything on ebay, still I think this is better than having a friend sell it for me...if you have any questions call or text me at 815-474-9299.

GM isn't liable for punitive damages in ignition switch cases
Wed, Nov 20 2019NEW YORK — A federal appeals court said General Motors is not liable for punitive damages over accidents that occurred after its 2009 bankruptcy and involved vehicles it produced earlier, including vehicles with faulty ignition switches. The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan said on Tuesday that the automaker did not agree to contractually assume liability for punitive damages as part of its federally-backed Chapter 11 reorganization. GM filed for bankruptcy in June 2009, and its best assets were transferred to a new Detroit-based company with the same name. The other assets and many liabilities stayed with "Old GM," which is also known as Motors Liquidation Co. Tuesday's 3-0 decision may help GM reduce its ultimate exposure in nationwide litigation over defective ignition switches in several Chevrolet, Pontiac and Saturn models. It is also a defeat for drivers involved in post-bankruptcy accidents, including those who collided with older GM vehicles driven by others, as well as their law firms. The ignition switch defect could cause engine stalls and keep airbags from deploying, and has been linked to 124 deaths. A lawyer for the drivers and their law firms did not immediately respond to requests for comment. GM had no comment. Circuit Judge Dennis Jacobs said GM's agreement to acquire assets "free and clear" of most liabilities excused it from punitive damages claims for Old GM's conduct. He also noted that the judge who oversaw the bankruptcy concluded that the new company could not be liable for claims that the "deeply insolvent" Old GM would never have paid. The decision upheld a May 2018 ruling by U.S. District Judge Jesse Furman in Manhattan, who oversees the ignition switch litigation. Drivers have sought a variety of damages in that litigation, including for declining resale values. GM has recalled more than 2.6 million vehicles since 2014 over ignition switch problems. It has also paid more than $2.6 billion in related penalties and settlements, including $900 million to settle a U.S. Department of Justice criminal case. GM cutting back on powertrain warranty citing lack of interest
Thu, Mar 12 2015Generally, when a manufacturer offers a long, high-mileage warranty, it's a sign that it stands behind its products. On top of that, it's generally a selling point for consumers, who can rest easy knowing that any catastrophic failures will be picked up by the manufacturer. Considering those facts, it does seem rather strange that General Motors is slashing the mileage warranty on model year 2016 vehicles from Chevrolet and GMC. Instead of offering consumers a 100,000-mile warranty, GM will now only offer a powertrain warranty up to 60,000 miles. The five-year warranty period, though, remains unchanged. GM will also cut the number of free services being offered to Chevy and GMC owners, as well as Buick drivers, from four to two. "Through research, we have determined that when purchasing a new vehicle, included maintenance and warranty rank low on the list of reasons why consumers consider a particular brand over another," explained a memo sent to dealers by Chevrolet VP Brian Sweeney and his GMC counterpart, Duncan Aldred, and obtained by Automotive News. "As a result, we have benchmarked our competitors, reviewed our current offerings and have concluded the following modifications to align closely with our customers' needs and expectations." While the move might seem odd, Sweeney and Aldred are right – according to Automotive News, Ford, Honda and Toyota each offer a five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty. As for what the money saved by trimming the powertrain warranty will go towards, a GM spokesperson simply told AN that the company will "reinvest the savings we will realize into other retail programs," some of which have been requested by consumers. What are your thoughts? Would a 40,000-mile reduction in a new vehicle's powertrain really turn you off from buying one? Even if it matched its competitors? Is GM better off spending its money elsewhere? Have your say in Comments.
