Up for sale is this immaculate and recently restored numbers matching 1973 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. This is a rare model Z/28 because it has factory A/C, (which does work). This is the first year for a Z/28 to offer A/C as an option.

The 2-year restoration was completed in early 2019 and the Z/28 has only been driven approximately 4000 since then

The car was totally disassembled, and soda blasted before any work was performed. In the way of bodywork both the
trunk & interior floor pans were replaced, a section of the rear frame, and the right rear quarter panel. The body
was then put on a rotisserie and painted in a 2-stage urethane black w/silver stripes (under the clear). Although
not an original color, the black definitely shows off the quality of the work and straightness of the body.

The entire suspension was taken apart, painted, and had polyurethane bushings added. New shocks, springs, brake
system, and 15” powder coated wheels w/ B.F. Goodrich T/A radials 235 x 60R x 15

The interior had new carpeting, upholstery & foam, and headliner. The original gauge cluster (which does come with
the car) was replaced with a Dakota Digital unit. The speedometer and other gauges function normally except the
odometer. Please note that some of the plastic interior pieces were not replaced and show a little age. Items
like the shifter cover, face of the gauge cluster, and some of the window trim.

All of the wiring is original, and the lights turn signals, etc. function normally. LED headlights were added.
The originals are included. As mentioned, the A/C does work and blows cold air, but the switch works only on two
positions. Off and high

As far as the 350 c.i./175 h.p. engine, Turbo 350 transmission, and 10-bolt rear differential, they appear to be
numbers matching to the car and documentation shows they were rebuilt by the prior owner and have approximately
15000 miles on them.

Some of the additional new equipment include new hoses, flushed radiator, rebuilt A/C compressor, power steering
pump, battery, gas tank, fuel lines, fuel pump, Edelbrock air cleaner, carb, & intake (original carb is included
with the car), in-line fuel filter, and an MSD distributor.

Additionally, a set of 4.11 posi-traction gears were added by one of the prior owners. Speedometer has been
calibrated for this gear ratio.

Amelia Island 2013: Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray from concepts to split windows

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

While this year marks 60 years of the Chevrolet Corvette, the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance focused on one of the coupe's most sought after models, the 1963 Sting Ray. General Motors design boss Ed Welburn was on hand to show off the all-new C7 Corvette, but even the hard-edged styling of the 2014 Stingray couldn't take away from the beautiful 1963 models sitting out on the field.
In addition to the original Sting Ray and the 1959 Sting Ray Concept, some of the other classic 'Vettes included "Big Tank" racecars, an interesting cutaway coupe, a right-hand-drive Z06 and the attention-grabbing 1963 Corvette Rondine by Pininfarina. Another impressive Corvette was the 1964 Corvette XP-819 rear-engine prototype. Owner Mike Yager had the car finished as a driving chassis for this year's show, but promises the car will be back to its original glory in time for next year's event.

GM finds steering flaw, decides it doesn't warrant a recall

Tue, Apr 14 2015

Guess what? General Motors is back in the spotlight for not recalling something. This time, though, not only does the company have an argument against a recall campaign, but its position is supported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. According to The New York Times, over 50 owners of GM vehicles have reported instances of stuck or seized steering after driving long distances without moving the wheel. One owner complained to NHTSA that the "locked" steering of their 2013 Buick Verano caused a collision with a concrete barrier in a construction zone. Along with the 2013 to 2014 model year Verano sedans, Chevrolet Cruze and Malibu sedans are also affected. Considering the popularity of those models, GM needs to have a reason for not issuing a recall, right? "Based on a very low rate of occurrence – ranging from less than one half to less than two incidents per thousand vehicles – and the fact that the condition is remedied when the wheel is turned, GM determined this was not a safety issue," spokesman Alan Adler told The Times. The company has, however, issued a technical service bulletin for owners that complain of the problem. The fix is nothing more than a software update that is covered for 10 years or 150,000 miles from new. NHTSA cited GM's actions, along with descriptions of the problems from customers, in its decision not to issue a recall, with spokeswoman Catherine Howden saying, "the symptoms described would be a brief, perceptible change in steering feel that has little to no effect on the driver's ability to safely steer the vehicle." "When terms like 'notchy,' 'stick,' 'slip' or 'feel' are used, it does not indicate a meaningful increase in steering effort," Howden told The Times via email. What do you think? Is GM in the wrong here? Should there be a recall, or is the issue so limited as to not warrant one? Have your say in Comments. Watch this time-lapse build of the Chevy SS for NASCAR

Fri, 08 Feb 2013

There's only about a week left until we get our first look at the production version of the 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan, but Chevrolet NASCAR teams have been looking at the race version of the car all winter. Autoweek has posted a really neat time-lapse video showing just a portion of what it takes to build one of NASCAR's new Gen6 stock cars.
Though the video is quite brief, it does show almost the entire build process starting with just the car's nose, and it gives us a good look at how integral the template is to the final product. As a bonus, Hendrick Motorsports also provided some videos showing two of its teams performing pit stop tests over the winter. The second video shows some of the more detailed aspects of the racecar's rear end, including the stock-looking trunk cutout and a newly mandated rear bumper extension that will be used on super speedways like Daytona and Talladega.
To see what Team Chevy has been up to all off-season, check out all three videos posted after the jump.
