1970 1/2 Chevrolet Camaro 454 big block, 4 speed project car |
1970 1/2 split bumper Camaro RS
This is a factory 4 speed, power steering and power disc brake car. The original 350 engine and 4 speed transmission are no longer with the car, although the clutch pedal, trans hump and Z bar assembly are still there. The engine supplied with the car is a virgin 454 big block, casting # 361959, with standard bores, standard crank journal sizing and two bolt mains. The cylinder heads are the desirable 781 passenger car (not truck) oval port heads. This was a running engine when it was dismantled. This is obviously a project car that has already had some major work done, and some expensive parts bought, with a view to creating a mean spirited pro-tourer.
A Detroit Speed and Engineering mini-tub kit has been partically installed. The sale also includes a new Chassis Works cage, the factory 10 bolt and a spare 12 bolt rear housing, factory low back seats, and much more.
The car has been completely dismantled in preparation for a total modified restoration. The body has been stripped to bare metal and sealed in epoxy primer, and currently rests on a custom built jig, which is included in the sale.
The parts alone in this car are easily worth the asking price!
We are determined to keep this package together as a car, so we are not willing to part it out and sell items separately.
Please note that this car is a totally disassembled restoration project. It is sold 'as is, where is', with no warranty of any kind being offered by the seller. We have clear Texas title in hand.
Please contact Brian Collins at Classic Jaguar with any questions or for an appointment to view.

GM recalling 118K Colorado, Canyon pickups over missing hood latches
Thu, 20 Dec 2012General Motors has announced a recall of 118,800 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks due to the possibility of secondary hood latches not being installed at the time of manufacture. The affected vehicles are from the 2010, 2011 and 2012 model years, all of which were built between November 9, 2009 and August 28, 2012.
According to the official National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report, these trucks fail to "comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 113, 'Hood Latch System.' The hood may be missing the secondary hood latch." In other words, owners of these trucks could find their vehicles' hoods opening unexpectedly while driving.
The official recall campaign is expected to begin on January 17, 2013. Dealers will inspect the affected pickups and if a secondary hood latch is not present, one will be installed free of charge. Scroll down to read the official NHTSA report.
Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept blends the past and the future
Wed, 19 Nov 2014The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo is the rare concept car that salutes a seminal moment in history, yet also borders on science fiction.
Revealed Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the concept uses the name of one of Chevy's historic racing partnerships, with Chaparral Racing, which dates to the 1960s. Chaparrals raced successfully at a range of levels, including IndyCar, Trans-Am and SCCA competition.
But the history ends there, as the concept's main purpose is as a racecar in a downloadable update for the PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo 6.
More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1
Thu, 28 Feb 2013During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.
