1969 Chevrolet Camaro Super Sport on 2040-cars

1969 Chevy Camaro Super Sport - Rally Sport
This car is visually stunning in every way. From the stance and hideaway headlights to the beautiful black body.
I hate to give it up
This was not a numbers matching car when i purchased it so over the last few years i have modified some items.
The engine is a built 396 with all new internals,
including a Thumpr series Comp Cam. It was built to cruise and draw lots of attention, but always starts right
up hot or cold.
I have cleaned up the engine compartment so that minimal wiring is seen. The spark plug wires are hidden under
the engine and the AC compressor is hidden
under the Alternator with the help of a March Serpentine belt system, keeping all the lines behind the fenders.
It has a smooth Gloss Black firewall that has been rubbed and buffed to conceal the hidden Vintage Air conditioning
system. The AC blows cold and works great.
Lots of billet and chrome for that wow factor when you open the hood. Polished Sheet metal valve covers and a
march serpentine pulley system. Polished Edelbrock performer intake with billet thermostat housing, aluminium
water pump and polished power steering pump.
A Polished 4 core aluminium radiator with a factory fan shroud and a 12" Electric fan with temperature control
keeps her cool in traffic all hidden under a Black closeout panel.
Power 4-wheel Disc brakes with chrome dual diaphragm booster and Power Steering.
The transmission is a Muncie 4-speed casting # 660 with a 11" bellhousing casting # 621 and the rearend is a
narrowed 9" with 3.55 gears.
American Racing VF518 Polished Two-piece Forged 18" Billet wheels set the car off.
Tubular upper and lower control arms and 1" front sway bar make it handle. The Frame was blasted and powder
coated gloss black.
Dakota Digital VHX dash with console gauges keeps you up to date on all functions, including Top Speed , 1/4 mile
time and speed, service engine and Low fuel to name a few.
Stock Deluxe interior with molded door panels and houndstooth seat covers make the interior stunning.
AM-FM stereo with ipod, MP3 , USB and hands free talking radio with 1200 watt amp in the trunk. Kenwood speakers
are in the custom kickpanels.
Detroit Speed electric headlights make the Rally Sport hidden headlights work super fast. All lights on the car
work including the reverse lights, horn and wipers.

Chevy to show redesigned Captiva in Geneva, will it come to US rental lots?
Wed, 27 Feb 2013Unless you're renting a car or driving through Orlando, Florida (the rental car capital of the US), you'll probably never see a Chevrolet Captiva - the rebadged, fleet-only version of the old Saturn Vue - on our roads, but this crossover is popular in many other parts of the world. As such, Chevrolet announced that the Captiva will be getting an update for 2013, which will be unveiled next week at the Geneva Motor Show.
Coming off a pretty extensive refresh in 2011, the 2013 model year will bring even more changes to the Captiva like LED taillights, new 18-inch wheels and revised fascias with a new grille and fog lights up front and inset chrome exhaust outlets at the rear. New interior features include heated rear seats, dual-zone climate control as well as available options on some of the upper trim levels such as leather seating and keyless entry and start. We have yet to hear back from Chevrolet as to whether or not the updated Captiva will be making its way to a rental lot near you, as the model is only available in the US to fleet buyers.
Alongside the updated Captiva, Chevy is also showing off its new Trax in Europe, where the subcompact crossover will go on sale this spring. GM's press release for these two Geneva-bound models is posted below.
Conquest and controversy conclude the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona [spoilers]
Sun, 26 Jan 2014If you don't wish to know who won the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona, you should avert your eyes right now. We'll even give you a double-space to skedaddle...
For those of you still with us, the first race in the United SportsCar Championship (USCC) is done, but the discussions about it certainly won't end for a while. Daytona Prototypes claimed the first four overall places, the top spot taken by the No. 5 Action Express Coyote-Chevrolet Corvette DP driven by Joao Barbosa, Christian Fittipaldi, Sebastien Bourdain and Burt Friselle. The 16th and final caution of the race bunched the field up for an eight-minute sprint to the flag, so the first place getter finished just 1.4 seconds ahead of the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Dallara-Chevrolet Corvette DP driven by Max Angelelli. Third place went to Brian Friselle in the No. 9 Action Express Chevrolet Corvette DP, 20 seconds down. Chevrolet power hasn't taken the overall win since 2003, eleven years later it scores a one-two-three-four. The No. 6 Muscle Milk/Pickett Racing ORECA-Nissan 03 scored fifth place, the top LMP2 finisher.
The Prototype Challenge class win went to the No. 54 CORE Autosport team of Colin Braun, Jon Bennett, Mark Wilkins and James Gue.
GM Design shows what could have been and what might be
Thu, May 27 2021We periodically like to check in with GM Design's Instagram account to see what they're cooking up. Even better is when we catch a glimpse of an alternate history of what legendary designers from The General's past were thinking, though those ideas may not have made it into production. This week, for example, the account posted some illustrations from George Camp, whose career at GM spanned nearly four decades, from 1963 to 2001. One of the renderings is of what appears to be a 1971-72 Pontiac GTO Judge, but with two headlights instead of the production unit's quad beams. The rear departs from the canonical version most dramatically, with a massive integrated wing. Other bits that didn't make the production cut include large side vents, a gill-like side marker and rectangular intakes below the headlights that wouldn't be out of place on a modern design today. Amazingly, from what we can make out of the date, it appears that the drawing was done sometime in 1965, which makes it quite prescient. View this post on Instagram A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) There's also a very aerodynamic interpretation of a Corvette ZR-1. To our eyes it splits the difference between the 1986 Corvette Indy concept and a fourth-generation F-body Pontiac Firebird, so perhaps parts of Camp's work on this sketch did make it into physical form. There's also a radical sports car concept from May 1970 that resembles the Mazda RX-500 concept from the same year, a Syd Mead-looking Cadillac coupe, and an Oldsmobile with a cool take on the company's trademark waterfall grille and elements of the Colonnade Cutlass at the rear. Other recent posts include a FJ Cruiser-like off-road EV, a sleek coupe with the Chevy corporate grille, and a rendering of a Silverado-esque pickup that looks far better than the current production version. View this post on Instagram A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) It's pretty easy to lose hours in the account, but it's always fascinating to see GM's visions of what could have been and what might be.
