My story on this car is ridiculously long, but I'll try to shorten it a bit. I bought the car out of New Jersey, it was last titled in 1973, was wrecked then, and left to sit in the bush and be picked over for parts. The body was in surprisingly good shape, other than the roof and upper cowl. I installed a new roof, upper cowl, upper dash, tail pan, and bought new sheet metal for the front. I repaired minor pin holes in the floor and trunk, but most is original sheet metal. The quarter panels were solid, but had been dented and then repaired with bondo. I soda blasted the entire car, and roughly dollied out the quarters, they still need some work to finish straightening, but I figured it would be better than Taiwan quarters. I bought good used RS inner fenders which are already finished in the proper matte black, and a California subframe which I've just freshly powder coated. I have new front fenders and cowl hood. I have purchased a ridiculous amount of parts for the car, because I planned on building show quality. I have a complete RS headlamp system, NOS RS grille and mldg, NOS rear spoiler, new tilt steering column, new centre console, complete new deluxe interior including black houndstooth seat material which I've already installed, restored instrument panel, complete new wiring harnesses, door handles, mirrors, emblems, lamps, steering wheel, good used tinted side glass, all told over $17000 in parts at today's prices. Most parts were purchased at Rick's Camaro (Eckler's), and most new. I have a set of 14" rally wheels as well as a set of American Racing Stics 5 15x8 wheels (look like Torq Thrusts). I had a 454 and a Muncie, but they have already been sold as they did not match the car. You will still need to purchase a motor, transmission, exhaust, windshield, back glass, seat belts, and some other small parts, but 90% of what you need I have. I have a 12 bolt posi rear with multi leaf springs, 4 spd trans crossmember, driveshaft, and used front disc brake setup, as well as the old original drum brakes should you decide that's what you want. I have the proper stamping numbered distributor, alternator, and a couple of pulleys. I also have a good used front bumper, and a new aftermarket (US made, not China) rear bumper. Lots of restoration manuals, and templates for placing antenna, stripes, rear spoiler, back up lamps, emblems, etc.

The car was originally a Butternut Yellow (less than 1% of 69's were painted Butternut before switching to Daytona Yellow, which makes it much more rare), with black vinyl top, RS and SS packages, 4 spd, 12 bolt, and a black standard interior. The only change I was going to make from original was the black deluxe houndstooth. I bought the car from the original owner so I know it is what I've said, but as it's a US car unfortunately I can't offer any more proof. I do have a copy of the original New York title, last registered in 1973.
I realize the price will scare some away, but that's ok, I don't have to sell it. Before all the self proclaimed "experts" offer their 2 cents, please realize.....
A new aftermarket body tub will cost you $16000
You would then need to find an ownership / title, or register the car as a current model year, and at that point it is worth nothing to 69 Camaro buyers.

About $10000 in small parts, which I've already purchased.
At that point you would have spent about $32000 to be at the point I'm at now, (not to mention whatever your donor title car cost you), and you'd still have an aftermarket tub worth half what the real thing is!
I have offered a buy it now option, but feel free to make me a reasonable offer as well.
I reserve the right to end the auction early as the car is also for sale locally.
Buyer is responsible for shipping, but I can deliver in Southern Ontario or to any of the Ontario / US border (Canadian side) for an additional fee.

The photos show some of the wrinkles still remaining in the rear quarters, everything on the shelf is for the car, the pic of small parts is just one tote, there are four more just like it!

At my best guess, you're probably looking at another $15000 to finish this car to show quality, but you should have $65000 piece when you're done.
To put it simply, those that know what it takes to build one of these cars will realize what's here, those that don't or can't afford it, please just move on, this one is not for you!

GM recalls nearly 340,000 large SUVs to fix daytime running lights

General Motors has initiated a recall campaign for more than 338,000 of its large SUVs to address a potential defect in the onboard computer software that controls the daytime running lights. In some cases, the DRLs may remain on even when the headlights are enabled, which creates additional glare for oncoming drivers at night and fails to comply with federal regulations for headlight performance.  "GM determined that the body control module (BCM) software in these vehicles, under a combination of certain pre-conditions, may fail to deactivate the DRLs when the headlamps are on," GM's recall report said. "A regulatory assessment was conducted to evaluate whether the condition presented a potential noncompliance with the DRL activation requirements in S7.10.5, Table I-a. of FMVSS 108. On October 27, 2022, GM’s Safety Field Action Decision Authority (SFADA) decided to conduct a recall for potential noncompliance with this standard." GM says the recall covers the 2021 model year GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, and 2021 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV. The company says all models produced within that operating window include the improperly programmed body control module, meaning all vehicles within the recall population may exhibit the problem. The issue was discovered by a GM engineer during validation testing in August, prompting a deeper investigation and eventually leading to the recall itself.   The module's software can be updated by GM dealers, so it should be a quick fix for customers. 2015 Chevy Silverado gets Custom Sport package

It's been on our mind for a couple of years that the Chevrolet Silverado could really use "a sophisticated monochromatic look." It is, at long last, a reality. Harking back to the Custom Sport Trucks the company produced in the 1960s, the 2015 Custom Sport package can be had in black or white on LT and LTZ models for those in search of "a touch of elegance." That means body-colored front and rear bumpers and grille surround, a black grille, and chrome applied to the door handles, mirror caps, side moldings and 20-inch wheels. The package, which will cost between $1,950 an $2,950, also throws in projector beam headlamps, tow hooks, and heated mirrors. LT trims can be had in black or white, LTZ trims - including Z71 - offer the choice of black or White Diamond Tricoat. The press release below has more information. Next Chevy Silverado could get this built-in tailgate step

General Motors just received patent approval for a tailgate step in a pickup bed. And given the timing, don't be surprised if you see this on the upcoming 2019 Silverado pickup (not the mention its GMC Sierra twin), expected to arrive in late 2018. According to the patent, granted in December of last year, the whole mechanism is housed in the tailgate assemble. The magic happens when a portion of the top half of the tailgate swings down and a step folds out. There's also a handle that locks into position to help climb up into the bed. As trucks get bigger and taller over the years, it gets harder and harder to access the cargo bed. Ford's solution with the 2009 F-150 was a step that slides out from the end of the tailgate. Back then, Chevy made an ill-advised ad highlighting the feature for Ford. And while Howie Long mocked the F-150's "man step" Ford saw almost a third of its trucks with the option in the first year. The GM design seems to improve on Ford's idea as it appears to be wider and has a back to the lower step. That is, you don't have to worry about stepping through the ladder-rung design as on the F-150. Ford's tailgate step later spread to the F Super Duty, and other cargo access assists have proliferated through the truck world. On the most recent redesign, the Chevrolet Silverado took a trick from the Avalanche and added cutouts to the corners of the rear bumper that act as a foothold. Ford also offers a deployable side step, Chevrolet has running boards that scoot rearward with a kick of the boot, and Ram offers fixed wheel-to-wheel side rails. Nissan is in on the game too, with an optional folding step that tucks under the rear bumper. We don't expect Chevrolet to comment on when or if we'll see this feature in the showrooms. But given that engineers are already hard at work on the next Silverado and the timing of this patent lines right up with the new truck's development cycle, we'll be disappointed if this patent stays in the file cabinet.
