Up for sale Is a 1993 Chevy crew cab dually 4x4 with an 2005 lly duramax motor and allison transmission swapped into it. You will not run across another project like this. The motor and transmission have 60k miles on them and run and drive great. This is a project but the hard work is done. The entire wiring harness for the truck is out of the 05. Along with the dash, steering column, fuel tank, transfer case, front diff. The rear end is a dana 70 and the gears have been changed to match the 373's in the front. The body of the truck is in good shape with only a few small dings around. The hood is dented but i was going to put a cowl hood on it anyways. Has duramax style towing mirrors installed. All the glass is good, the windows are tinted and the power windows work. I started mocking up a 4 gauge pillar in with autometer phantom 2 gauges ($800 alone for guages) I have not hooked them up yet besides boost but all of the sending units for gauges are included. There is a new double din dvd player installed. I have the adapter that makes it so all of the steering wheel controls work with the new deck. All of the AC equipment is installed but needs to be charged. New carpet is installed. I was going to put all leather in the truck. I have a charcoal leather seat out of a denali for the rear and leather front leather panels. There are seats currently installed but they arent in the best shape. Most of the wiring is completed on the truck. Cruise control is hooked up. Automatic Headlights work, tail lights work. The motor is stock besides a 4 inch exhaust turbo back, egr blocked off and an ats intake horn. The yolk for the allison was professionally welded onto the rest of the 93 drive shaft and balanced.
I have a clean colorado title for the truck, registered as a 94 so everything is very cheap to register Remember that this is still a project Things this truck needs Carrier bearing starting to go out Alignment 4x4 swich rear bumper mounting front grill front maker lights installed wipers hooked up the front drive shaft installed rear brake lights hooked up The check engine light recently came on, I scanned it and it came up with the baro sensor being bad. You basically are getting a 4x4 crew cab dually long bed Custom duramax project, with the hard work done. I have driven the truck about 6k miles since the swap. The truck runs and drives fine the way it is now career path is changing and I don't have any time to finish the truck If you have any questions about the truck please call me prior to bidding This is a steal for a duramax swapped truck with low miles and 4x4 NO RESERVE Brennan 720-205-7000 Thanks |

GM recalls Chevy Express, GMC Savana over rollaway concern
Mon, 21 Jan 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall notice for a small number of General Motors fullsize vans due to possible rollaway concerns. On certain 2013 Chevrolet Express and 2013 GMC Savana models, it is possible to remove the key from the ignition without the shifter being in park.
Only 980 total units are being affected by this recall, and GM is fixing the issue by replacing the ignition cylinder and associated keys. Affected Chevy vans were built during most of November and December while its GMC counterpart was only built for a week in November. The recall goes into effect on January 23, and to find out if your vehicle applies to the recall, the GM and NHTSA contact numbers can be found on the official recall notice, which is posted below.
Chevy's 6.6-liter Duramax is pretty much all new
Thu, Sep 29 2016To say there's a heated battle in heavy-duty pickups is an understatement, with Chevrolet, Ford, and Ram constantly trading blows of increased torque, horsepower, and towing capacity. The latest salvo is the revised, more powerful turbo diesel 6.6-liter Duramax V8 in the 2017 Chevy Silverado. It has 910 pound-feet of torque, an increase of 145, putting it nearly level with the Ford Super Duty. Here's a closer look at where those gains come from. How exactly did Chevrolet add all that torque plus 48 horsepower? The automaker essentially took a fine-tooth comb to the entire engine. Chevy says it changed 90 percent of the V8, and the cumulative effect of those small changes adds up to big increases. As you might guess, the turbocharger is updated. The larger unit features electric actuation of the variable nozzle turbine (VNT), and what Chevy calls a double axle cartridge mechanism that separates the VNT moving parts from the housing. That helps with heat performance as well, with a claim that the exhaust side of the turbo can run continuously up to 1,436 degrees Fahrenheit. Helping that cause are six exhaust gaskets made of Inconel - an nickel alloy that contains chromium and iron – and upgraded stainless steel for the exhaust manifold. Despite having the same cast iron cylinder block, albeit with some minor enhancements, the engine has new cylinder heads, pistons, piston pins, connecting rods, and crankshaft, which have all been upgraded to handle 20 percent higher cylinder pressures. Alongside the increase in pressure, Chevrolet also increased the cylinder head's structure with a honeycomb design. The pattern features high-strength aluminum with dual layer water jackets that not only improve strength, but also optimize water flow for better cooling. For 2017, the cylinder head also benefits from integrated plenum that aids the engine in getting more air under heavy loads. The cylinder head isn't the only component to get a minor update, as the pistons have a larger diameter pin for improved oil flow. The same detailed improvements has been bestowed to the humble connecting rods (second in our hearts only to the inanimate carbon rod). The new design has the bolts oriented roughly 45-degrees to the rod instead of parallel. The angle split design, as it's called allows for easier passage through the cylinder.
NHTSA closes 4-year GM investigation, issues common sense advisory [w/video]
Thu, Apr 9 2015Since January 2011, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has been investigating a possible problem with corroding brake lines in General Motors' GMT800-platform models, like the Chevrolet Silverado and Suburban and GMC Sierra, in states with salt on their roads in the winter. However, as opposed to launching a full recall of millions of vehicles, the government is issuing a common-sense safety advisory to all drivers in snowy states to keep their vehicle's undercarriage clean. It even has a video explaining things. "Older-model vehicles, often driven in harsh conditions, are subject to corrosion over long periods of time, and we need owners to be vigilant about ensuring they, their passengers, and others on the roads are safe," said NHTSA Administrator Mark Rosekind in the announcement of the end of the investigation. The agency was clear in its report that "brake line corrosion seen in the GM vehicles was not unique," and the government "has not identified a defect that would initiate a recall order." Instead NHTSA is advising drivers, especially those of vehicles from before 2007, to wash their vehicle's undercarriage in the winter and spring to remove salt or other de-icing chemicals. It also recommends regular checks by a mechanic to make sure everything is in proper order. According to the investigation documents, for just the GMT800 platform models, NHTSA found 3,645 complaints of brake line corrosion, which included allegations of 107 crashes and 40 injuries. The issue was found to be more common in vehicles over 10 years old. GM has released a statement (embedded below) that the company "supports the consumer advisory from NHTSA urging regular maintenance and care of brake lines on older vehicles." NHTSA Closes Investigation into Brake-Line Failures NHTSA 13-15 Thursday, April 9, 2015 Agency issues safety advisory on preventing undercarriage corrosion WASHINGTON – The Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) today issued a Safety Advisory and consumer video encouraging owners of model year 2007 and older trucks, SUVs and passenger cars to inspect brake lines and thoroughly wash the underside of their vehicles to remove corrosive salt after the long winter in order to prevent brake-line failures that increase the risk of a crash.
