1991 Chevrolet C3500 Silverado Crew Cab Pickup 2-door 5.7l on 2040-cars
Telford, Pennsylvania, United States
Being sold at no reserve! Mileage on truck: Apx 218,000 Engine: Goodwrench 350 Trans: 4 speed manual trans with LOW first gear Rear: 4.11 gears from what previous owner told me. Seems accurate Notes: Does not have current inspection Carb will need rebuild Driver side rocker has some rot Missing passenger side marker light (LMC truck has for pretty cheap) Passenger dually fender has piece missing on lower rear part Will need set of tires but can be driven home with the ones on it. Radio works Headlights and brake lights work Some windows roll down easier than others Truck has dings, dents, scratches and rust here and there. Grill on truck is missing a small piece below driver headlight. I have put a piece of metal tape on it to make the grill look all there. See pics. Bought this truck in 2011 and used it for about a year and it has been parked since then. I used this as a work truck and tow truck. Truck did have a 454 in it and previous owner swapped it for a Goodwrench 350. Oil pressure and water temp gauges do not work. I dont think they were hooked up when motor was swapped. Speedo works and so does voltmeter. Truck has stainless hub caps I took the truck out on the road the other day and it ran good and steered well. Stumbles on acceleration due to accelerator pump being clogged. I dont see a stream of gas squirting out when throttle is pushed. Like I said carb will need rebuild. I usually squirt some starting fluid in the carb and it starts right up. Truck has newer battery from 2013.Clean title in hand. Drive it away today. Do not bid unless you are going to buy. Do not come out and say "this truck needs work" or anything of the like. This is a work truck. It runs and drives. You can pick up the truck on Saturday between 9 and 12. Or any weekday after 5. This is when the title place is open by my house and when I am available. Must transfer title upon sale. Truck is sold AS IS. Tax tag and title fees are the BUYERS responsibility. Auction price is for truck only. |

GM slashes prices in China as sales falter
Thu, May 14 2015Buying a vehicle from General Motors' stable of brands might be a lot cheaper in the near future – at least for customers in China. The effort comes as GM hopes to keep sales there growing, and the decision alludes to yet another sign that the Asian country no longer has the booming auto market of past years. GM and its Chinese joint venture partner SAIC are slashing prices by as much as the equivalent to $8,700 on 40 models from Buick, Chevrolet, and Cadillac, according to The Detroit News. Across all of automaker's nameplates, the overall sales dipped in China in April by 0.4 percent to 258,484 vehicles. Among the drops, Buick was down 8.5 percent, and Chevy shrunk 5.6 percent. Caddy's numbers increased 4.6 percent for the month, though. Buick remains a popular brand in the minds of Chinese consumers, but according to The Detroit News domestic automakers there are starting to eat into the dominance of foreign companies in the market. The country remains important for GM, though. Late last year, it outlined a future strategy that included China as a major pillar, including a $14 billion investment to build five new factories and boost sales. Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.

IIHS gives good ratings to 4 of 8 midsize pickups in crash test
Wed, Sep 6 2017Versions of the Toyota Tacoma, Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon Crew Cab earned top ratings in a new crash test of midsize pickup trucks from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, while two versions of the Nissan Frontier earned marginal ratings. But the organization gave poor marks to all eight pickups tested for their dim headlights. Overall, four of the eight pickups evaluated earned good ratings for protecting occupants in all five crash test categories — the Tacoma double cab along with crew cab versions of the Colorado, Canyon and Tacoma. But the poor headlights and lack of an automatic emergency braking system blocked any of the pickups from qualifying for the IIHS's Top Safety Pick awards. The study looked at two pickup body styles using 2017 models: crew cabs, which have four full doors and two full rows of seating, and extended cabs, which have two full front doors, two smaller rear doors and compact second-row seats. It subjected each to five tests, and it evaluated the performance of front crash prevention systems and headlights. The Toyota Tacoma crew cab was the only pickup in that class that earned a good rating for structure in the small overlap test, which replicates what happens when a vehicle clips a tree, pole or another vehicle that has crossed the center line. The model's Access Cab extended-cab version was rated similarly, though its structure was rated acceptable. "This group of small pickups performed better in the small overlap front test than many of their larger pickup cousins," says David Zuby, the Institute's executive vice president and chief research officer. "The exception was the Nissan Frontier, which hasn't had a structural redesign since the 2005 model year." The extended-cab versions of the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon earned acceptable ratings, while both the Nissan Frontier king-cab and crew-cab models were rated marginal. Toyota says its 2018 Tacoma will feature upgraded headlights and a standard autobraking system that can detect pedestrians. "Headlights are basic but vital safety equipment. Drivers shouldn't have to give up the ability to see the road at night when they choose a small pickup," Zuby said.
