1990 - Chevrolet C/k Pickup 3500 on 2040-cars

1990 Chevrolet one ton 4x4. It has a 1986 gmc front clip on it, I liked the way the grill and headlights look better than the 1990 setup. It has a 1992 intercooled cummins 5.9 turbo diesel 12 valve. Turbo on it is off of a 2001 dodge manual 24 valve. Has boost and pyrometer gauges. All gauges in the instrument cluster work. Cruise control is not working, needs a servo mounted and hooked to throttle linkage. I just drove 1700 miles round trip to visit my parents and it performed great, cruised about 80mph most of the way. Gets about 18mpg. The air conditioner blows ice cold.Frame was notched for a/c compressor clearance. Overhead console and middle console out of 1990 suburban. Has power windows and door locks. All power windows work. Tilt steering.Has 4 inch springs in front and 4 inch springs in rear with no block. Has a 2 inch body lift. New CM bed has gooseneck hitch in it and wired for 7 pin and 4 pin. Has trailer brake controller. It has a list of new parts. Parts, Rebuilt getrag transmission with BG syncroshift fluid, new clutch, new uprated injection pump, new 40hp increase injectors, new radiator, new valve cover gaskets, new voltage regulator, new CM flatbed , new underbed toolboxes, new 35x12.5x16 tires and wheels, new receiver hitch, new 31 gallon fuel tank and sending unit, reupholstered front and rear seats, new carpet, new door carpet, new dash mat, new steering gear box, new boost and pyrometer gauges, new front calipers and pads, new rear shoes, drums and hardware. Driveline redone. New radiator. Lots of money into this pickup. New headliner. New sunvisors. New drivers side power window motor. New 4 inch rear springs. New exhaust. New stereo that ipod goes into, new speakers in dash and behind seat, all from a stereo shop not wally world. It is a fun pickup to drive. It could use a few little finishing touches, dash board is cracked and has holes from where it must of had switches at on time. The window sweep rubber could use replacing. When you turn on the left turn signal the cancel cam wont turn it off you have to do it manually, to the right works fine. The speedometer is working but way off, it just needs a little gear box from PTC that will correct it, it costs 65, I have been using my gps. I am selling the pickup because I want to get a 2007-2009 chevy or gmc crew cab 4x4 1/2 or 3/4 ton gasser pickup with a 6 inch lift. I still have a dodge diesel to tow with. Our favorite mid-engine Corvette theories and rumors
Tue, Sep 13 2016The mid-engine Corvette! We just saw blurry photos through the foliage, and are hearts are all aflutter because it means that this car is real. And it's the most " never before" Corvette since 1984. Which leads us to all kinds of wacky theories and speculation. Everybody knows something or heard from a guy. None of those guys (or gals) from GM are talking to Autoblog, to be clear. But that won't stop us from stirring the pot. Let's go over a few point-by-point. The pushrod engine will be replaced by an overhead-cam V8 Car and Driver has repeatedly reported that an overhead-cam engine will come after the mid-engine Corvette's debut with an old-school pushrod. We've heard the same thing firsthand, albeit from a source with no connection to the development of the Corvette or powertrain. "At some point two valves can't pass future emissions regulations," said the guy we know. While the pushrod engine is compact, the design makes it difficult - if not impossible - for sophisticated variable valve timing (and lift) systems that control combustion with more precision. Hasty conclusion: The pushrod engine has a finite life in front of it. This one's a lock, it's a just a matter of when. Bowling Green's new paint shop is really the mid-engine assembly line Credit to Reddit for this one. Like we said, everybody knows a guy. But let's look deeper. The new paint facility costs $439 million dollars and adds 450,000 square feet, almost half the size of the existing plant. Plus GM announced another $290 million in upgrades at Bowling Green Assembly. That sure sounds like a lot of money, but you can actually spend that much on a paint booth. Porsche spent 500 million Euros (about $561 million dollars) to add the Macan assembly to its Leipzig, Germany plant in 2014. Chrysler shelled out $850 million for a paint shop in Sterling Heights, Michigan. GM spent $600 million for a new paint shop at the Fairfax (Kansas City) plant. Honda, on the other hand, is working on a thrifty $210 million project in Marysville, Ohio that includes a 300,000 square foot expansion, and the low-volume Acura NSX facility only cost $70 million. Hasty conclusion: The square footage and cost could easily mean a new assembly line instead of (or in addition to) a paint line. And if the NSX plant was really that cheap, GM could have hidden a similar sum in its existing announcements.
GM announces 3 new recalls affecting 1.7M vehicles in North America [w/video]
Mon, Mar 17 2014Still embroiled in the ongoing ignition switch recall, General Motors announced today three more discrete recalls, affecting a grand total of 1,546,900 vehicles in the US. The Detroit News reports that some 1.7 million vehicles are affected overall in North America. The first and largest of the trio of new recalls concerns some 1.18-million Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia crossovers from the 2008-2013 model years, Chevrolet Traverse from 2009-2013 (pictured above) and Saturn Outlook vehicles from 2008-2010. All of the crossover utilities may have an issue with the wiring harness for their seat-mounted side airbags. Apparently, the vehicles are equipped with a Service Air Bag warning light that, if ignored, "will eventually result in the non-deployment of the side impact restraints." Those restraints include the side airbags, a front-center airbag if the vehicle is so equipped and seatbelt pretensioners. Dealers of affected vehicles will be instructed to remove driver and passenger side airbag wiring harness connectors, and then "splice and solder the wires together." The second recall affects 303,000 Chevrolet Express (pictured right) and GMC Savana vans from model years 2009-2014, and with gross vehicle weights under 10,000 pounds. Said vehicles do not comply with a head impact requirement for unrestrained occupants, and will need a reworking of the instrument panel material to be sent back on the road. It doesn't sound as though there's a quick fix for this one, as the GM press release states: "Unsold vehicles have been placed on a stop delivery until development of the solution has been completed and parts are available." Finally, the third recall affects 63,900 Cadillac XTS luxury sedans from model years 2013 and 2014. A brake booster pump may be susceptible to corrosion by way of the relay, potentially causing and electrical short, overheating, melting of plastic components and even engine fires. GM says it is aware of two engine fires in unsold XTS models and two cases of melted parts. Repairs for the issues affecting the XTS have not not mentioned by GM in the release. The Detroit News is also reporting that along with news of the triple-recall, GM is taking a $300-million credit to help pay for the repair costs, and to deal with the ongoing costs associated with the ignition switch recall. In an attempt to explain just what GM has been doing in the face of these very serious issues, newly minted CEO Mary Barra has addressed the issues in a new video.
Stolen '57 Chevy Returned To Owner After 30 Years
Fri, Feb 21 2014Three decades after it was stolen, a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air has been returned to a Northern California man - in better shape than when he originally owned it. The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports Ian "Skip" Wilson was shocked to get a call from the California Highway Patrol informing him that his long-lost Chevy was taken off an Australia-bound cargo ship. The 65-year-old says the car has had a lot of work done on it since it disappeared from his Lake County home in 1984. It was returned with a monogrammed interior, 17-inch racing wheels, rack-and-pinion steering and a 350-horsepower V-8 engine. The retired mechanic says the two-door was in sorry shape when he bought it for $375 in 1975 with plans for fixing it up.
