85 Chevy 1/2 Ton 4x4 On 1 Ton Chassis. Fresh 454, Trans, Transfer Case And Diffs on 2040-cars
Saint Clair Shores, Michigan, United States
Hi everyone, I'm selling my 85 chevy "1/2" ton 4x4. It currently sits on a 1 ton suspension with 8+ inches of lift. The engine is a fresh 454 big block with a performance RV cam, Edelbrock intake and Edelbrock 750 cfm carb. Blaster coil. Roller rockers! All the good stuff pushing around 450hp.Trans is a freshly rebuilt automatic with 2200 RPM stall. Transfer case was rebuilt at the same time. Rancho shocks all the way around. 14 bolt detroit locker rearend with fresh 4:56 gears. Front diff just had new seals and fresh 4:56 gears installed also. Hedman headers into dual exhaust. Runs strong! With the 37x12.5x15 Super Swampers, she'll climb up and through nearly anything you throw at her. B&M floor shifter gets that annoying lever out of your way while heading of road. Though it has been off road it has never ben beat on! Brakes are good all around!
The body is very solid for a 28 year old truck...but it does have a couple of areas that rust have set in. I will include pictures of these areas. Rockers are solid! Just the very end of both doors and right behind the rear tires...but nothing beyond repair. Truck still presents very well. I would recommend different tires if you plan to drive this truck on the highway. Interior has 2 racing bucket seats with 5 point harnesses. Full gauge cluster and tach. Awesome running truck. Heater has been deleted...but I have everything to install heater back in place. As much as I hate to part with it...the wife needs a new car since the arrival of our grandson. If you have any questions please feel free to ask and I'll answer them as quickly as possible. I will not deliver...local pick up only. However...I will work with any shipper you arrange. No warranty offered or implied Good luck and happy bidding everyone. Would entertain trade or partial trade for nice Jeep Wrangler...extended cab diesel 4x4...or nice nova. |

Valet mode captures joyride in red Corvette
Thu, Dec 18 2014A man in California is among the first to catch a valet behaving badly in his 2015 Corvette using a controversial built-in recording feature. Dan Cowles told KTLA 5 when he bought his dream car, a 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, he opted for the Performance Data Recorder. The Corvette PDR uses a high-definition camera mounted in the windshield header, a microphone in the cabin and a GPS receiver that record and track the sports car's movements and sounds. They work together to produce a video with telemetry overlay, so you can see acceleration rates, lap times and g-forces. The system can be customized to show extensive performance data, or simply video of your drive like a traditional dash cam. It also comes with Valet Mode, which locks the glove box, disables entertainment and records video. The audio recording feature ran afoul of several state's recording consent laws, but this video has no audio, indicating the fix may have been as easy as turning off the microphone. Cowles dropped off his hot red 'Vette with the valets at the Segerstrom Center for the Performing Arts in Costa Mesa, CA. When he got his car back he checked the PDR and discovered footage of the valet taking a short, but intense, joyride in the garage. In the video, the valet finds a straightaway in a tiered parking garage and pushes the car to 50 miles per hour in five seconds before quickly stopping. He then parks the car without incident. The valet then gets out of the car and takes one more admiring look at the front. The valet company has yet to commented on the video, according to Fox News, but valets everywhere should be on notice; that little red Corvette you have your eye on may have its eyes on you. Recharge Wrap-up: EVs poll well in Portland, Tesla seeks office space
Tue, Aug 5 2014In a poll of drivers in Portland, more than 80 percent said they would be driving an EV in the next 10 years if they weren't already. The poll was small and not scientific, with just 218 votes cast, but it does reflect a slice of a certain population with changing attitudes toward electric mobility, and 80 percent is an impressive figure. Additionally, 43 percent of respondents planned to have an EV in the next five years, and only 18 percent said they prefer gasoline-powered vehicles. With EVs in many ways repeating the adoption process that hybrids went through a decade ago, the five- or ten-year timeframe for more widespread use seems only natural. Read more at the Portland Business Journal. San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee parks like an idiot, or rather, his security detail does. His Chevrolet Volt has been ticketed for parking six times since he took office. Granted, those street-sweeping signs are tough to keep track of, but his car has been photographed blocking at a bus stop while grabbing a burrito (who hasn't sinned in the name of a delicious burrito?), and was even caught parked in a crosswalk. The tickets were all dismissed. Read more from the SF Gate. Tesla is looking for office space in Silicon Valley. As the electric car company continues to search for a place to build its $4- to $5-billion battery Gigafactory, it also needs some real estate to expand its operations near its Palo Alto home. Tesla has expanded from 3,000 to 6,000 California-based employees since the end of 2012, and plans to add 500 more by the end of the year. It is currently looking for 200,000 to 300,000 square feet of office space close to its Fremont factory, according to sources in the real estate industry. Chevy Trax engineer says GMC version possible
Mon, Dec 8 2014The Buick Encore is doing so well and its platform-mate the Chevrolet Trax has such good reviewer vibes going for it already, that a GMC version hasn't been ruled out. During the recent press launch, Automotive News asked lead engineer Al Manzor if the Trax could wear a GMC-branded suit, to which Manzor replied, "I think that is certainly possible." That's a long way from telling us anything about the probability of a GMC version of the Trax, and a legion of questions would need to be answered before it could happen. How would a GMC version be priced to leave room for the $26,465 GMC Terrain but not eat into sales of the $20,995 Trax or the $24,035 Encore? Or would that matter? Could it primarily be considered to encourage a new faction of The Yukon Set at the compact end, GMC buyers being famously committed to the marque? And of course, would there be a Denali version? It'll probably be a long while before we have any kind of answers, but if you want to see it happen, the door to your campaign of persuasion is at least ajar.
