I am selling a fleet truck. I am the second owner, purchasing from a timber company that buys these trucks for its fleet. These are custom ordered with rubber floors so that they are easy to clean (instead of carpet). This truck also has vinyl seats.

I have driven the last 25,000 miles in this truck without issue. I am selling as I have picked up another fleet rig.

This is an unusual truck in that it is a 2000 model, but it is not a Silverado, so it has the older body style, the 5.7 L Vortec, the older dash, and mechanical throttle instead of the newer electronic throttles. In my experience, this makes for a more reliable truck.

This truck has approximately 177,000 miles. It runs strong and I have not had any issues with the transmission or transfer case.

I am selling this truck with no reserve. As with all of my vehicle auctions, I list the good and the bad, to the best of my abilities.

BUYERS WITH ZERO FEEDBACK, DO NOT BID WITHOUT CONTACTING ME! Due to my experience with non-paying first-time buyers, if you do have zero feedback, your bid may be canceled.

Buyer is responsible for arranging for pickup or shipping. I work out of town and it is difficult for me to coordinate with shippers as they do not seem to follow a reliable schedule. So if you have this shipped, I need to have a firm date and time that I must be available to meet your shipper. If you are coming to get the truck yourself, we are about 1 hour south of the airport in Eugene, and about 1.5 hours north of the airport in Medford. We are 2.5 hours south of the Portland airport. Amtrak can bring you to Eugene, about 1 hour north.

Okay. Let's start with the good:
- Engine starts and runs - runs strong and smooth
- New battery
- Aftermarket CD Player with detachable face
- Heater/AC work good
- Recent oil/air filter change
- New fuel pump
- Easy clean interior - rubber floors and vinyl seats - great work truck
- 4x4 works great, hi and lo range
- Electronic brake control unit and tow package
- Clean Oregon Title and current registration
- Newer aluminum truck box! with key.

Now for the bad:
- The rear window on the passenger side broke out and has been temporarily replaced by plexi-glass with some black duct tape trim (actually looks okay!) See the pics.
- Burns some oil - does not seem to be leaking, but does go through some oil.
- Tread on tires is at about 25%
- Small dings and scratches on exterior. Nothing big, but this is a high miles work truck, so what should be expected.
- Some drill holes in dash from radios, phones, etc.
- Driver's side seat is sagged from large derriers sitting in it :)

Okay, that's all I can think of for now. Ask me questions and I will do my best to answer.

Good luck, happy bidding, and may the best bidder win!

Chevy Volt owners log half a billion electric miles, 2015 production starts

Thu, Jun 19 2014

As General Motors gets ready to start 2015 Volt production Monday, Chevrolet is looking back at some of the numbers that got the car to where it is today. The headline number is that Volt owners have collectively put more than a half-billion electric miles on their cars. The unsurprising upshot is that, if you went out and bought a Volt, you're pretty keen on getting as many electric miles out of it as possible. 90 percent of all Volt trips are done purely on electric power. The typical Volt driver goes 970 miles between fill-ups, GM says, and that means that 63 percent of all miles are done on battery power. General Motors executive director Larry Nitz gave AutoblogGreen a few more details on the usage habits of Volt drivers, including that 81 percent of commuting miles are electric. Two-thirds of US Volt drivers charge their vehicle 1.4 times a day, a clear indicator of drivers trying to maximize electric miles through opportunity charging. In fact, Nitz said, 90 percent of all Volt trips are done purely on electric power. GM also says that the Volt's official 35 miles of electric range is still doable for many owners who have had their car for more than 30 months. Looking ahead, we know that one upgrade for the 2015 Volt will be 4G LTE connectivity that can turn the car, like others in the GM family, into a mobile wifi hotspot. We're of course much more interested in when GM is finally going to start production of the next-gen Volt, but GM officials would only tell us that they're very excited about the still-secret vehicle, promising we'll be learning more "soon." Nitz did confirm that today's Volt drivers are most interested in three things from the next-gen model: more range, a lower price and a fifth seat. He did not say whether or not GM will be able to deliver on those requests. Chevrolet Volt Owners Surpass Half a Billion Electric Miles After 30 months of use, a sampling of Volts shows consistent all-electric range 2014-06-19 DETROIT – Since its launch in late 2010, Chevrolet Volt owners have accumulated more than half a billion all-electric miles. Additionally, based on a General Motors' study of more than 300 Volts in service in California for more than 30 months, many owners are exceeding the EPA-rated label of 35 miles of EV range per full charge, with about 15 percent surpassing 40 miles of range.

GM Recalling 370,000 Trucks For Fire Risk

Mon, Jan 13 2014

DETROIT (AP) - General Motors is recalling 370,000 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups from the 2014 model year to fix software that could cause the exhaust components to overheat and start a fire. The recall includes 303,000 trucks in the U.S. and 67,000 in Canada and Mexico. All of the trucks involved have 4.3-liter or 5.3-liter engines. GM said eight fires have been reported, but no injuries. One garage was damaged, the company said. All of the incidents occurred in cold weather. The company is asking customers not to leave their trucks idling unattended. GM dealers will reprogram the software for free. The company will inform owners starting Jan. 16. The major recall announcement, which came on Saturday, marred the Silverado's winning of the 2014 North American Truck of the Year Award at the Detroit Auto Show on Monday. Next Chevy Silverado could get this built-in tailgate step

Thu, Feb 2 2017

General Motors just received patent approval for a tailgate step in a pickup bed. And given the timing, don't be surprised if you see this on the upcoming 2019 Silverado pickup (not the mention its GMC Sierra twin), expected to arrive in late 2018. According to the patent, granted in December of last year, the whole mechanism is housed in the tailgate assemble. The magic happens when a portion of the top half of the tailgate swings down and a step folds out. There's also a handle that locks into position to help climb up into the bed. As trucks get bigger and taller over the years, it gets harder and harder to access the cargo bed. Ford's solution with the 2009 F-150 was a step that slides out from the end of the tailgate. Back then, Chevy made an ill-advised ad highlighting the feature for Ford. And while Howie Long mocked the F-150's "man step" Ford saw almost a third of its trucks with the option in the first year. The GM design seems to improve on Ford's idea as it appears to be wider and has a back to the lower step. That is, you don't have to worry about stepping through the ladder-rung design as on the F-150. Ford's tailgate step later spread to the F Super Duty, and other cargo access assists have proliferated through the truck world. On the most recent redesign, the Chevrolet Silverado took a trick from the Avalanche and added cutouts to the corners of the rear bumper that act as a foothold. Ford also offers a deployable side step, Chevrolet has running boards that scoot rearward with a kick of the boot, and Ram offers fixed wheel-to-wheel side rails. Nissan is in on the game too, with an optional folding step that tucks under the rear bumper. We don't expect Chevrolet to comment on when or if we'll see this feature in the showrooms. But given that engineers are already hard at work on the next Silverado and the timing of this patent lines right up with the new truck's development cycle, we'll be disappointed if this patent stays in the file cabinet.
