For Sale is a restored Chevy 3/4 ton K20 4x4 factory air, factory tach, triple tank. tilt  PS, PB with disc's in the front.  Motor is a BBC 402 NOM stock bore completely rebuilt, new edelbrock 750 electric choke, 3 inch exhaust, HEI.  Truck has perforamce chevy's dual electic fans.  Transmission is a 700r4 completely rebuilt to withstand the torque of a BB truck to the tune of $1700 with a manual 4th gear torque converter lockout switch.  NP205 transfer case completely gone through.  Truck was taken down to the frame, only the cab remained on during the restore, i did replace the body mounts new poly mounts.  Frame was fully cleaned and POR15'd.  Completel y new front suspention, including all new energy suspention bushings.  All new bearing, tie rods, ball joints.   New warn professional 3/4 locking hubs.  A/C systems was upgraded with classis air componets now running R134.  I removed the behind the seat tank and replaced the 2 saddle tanks with ABS 16 gallon tanks.  Each tank has it's own sending unit and is controlled by a switch on the dash.  The factory floor tank selector is still intact and works perfectly.  17 inch wheels with 33 inch Hankook all season radials.  Truch had a 1 inch lift, with no rubbing for bottoming isssues at all.  Paint and body work was complete when I bought the truck, the truck had never been in a wreck, the frame is without any damage and is lazer straight.  The rockers look to have been replaced, the paint is of very good quaility, buffs and shines really nice.  I would call it very good driver quality, it is close to show but there are a few small blems that keep it from 100% show quality.  I would rather under sell the truck then try to over state it.  Bed was shot with Raptor bed liner and is in excellent shape.  Interior has a very nice custom audio system, and newer chevy suburan middle seats have been fabed in.  Seats are very comfortable and enhance the ride of the truck.  The driver wind window is inop and the volt meter needs replace other than that the truck is and drives like new.  I wouldn't hesitate to drive it across counrty.  It drives and runs well enough to be a person's only truck, or it would make an execellent weekend warrior and show truck.  I build alot of first gen camaro's, this being my first truck, it was fun to build and the few times I haved taken it out I get more looks and completments then some of my 69 camaro's.  Truck has about 300 miles on it sense complete, barely broke in, and it drives nicer than it looks.

Star Wars Car Drives To The Dark Side Of Comic Con

Tue, Jul 22 2014

When it comes to designing coveted collectible toys for sale at Comic-Con, the annual celebration of pop culture lifting off Thursday in San Diego, the sky's the limit for the designers at Mattel. Fittingly, the building where Mattel's dreamers conceive of their limited-edition playthings is just down the street from the Los Angeles International Airport. Inside the colorful design center - a Hot Wheels-themed shuttle bus transports employees from Mattel's parking garage - the designers have spent the past year working on 10 toys created especially for the Comic-Con crowd, including a replica of the Batmobile from the upcoming game "Batman: Arkham Knight" and a 9-inch-tall action figure of Superman killer Doomsday. "We don't have to worry about retail. We don't have to worry about margins," said Doug Wadleigh, Mattel's senior vice president of global brand marketing for boys and entertainment. "We don't have to worry about operational efficiencies. We only have to worry about creating the coolest toys for our fans. Period." It also offers some escape from Mattel's reality these days. Like other toy makers struggling in this digital, video-centric age, the company is trying to remain relevant in the retail world. Core brands like Barbie have seen less of a demand, with a 14 percent drop in sales in the first quarter of this year. Mattel had a net loss for the first three months ending March 31 that totaled $11.2 million. But things will at least seem rosier at Comic-Con, where eager buyers for the toys await (the only other place they will be sold is on the Mattel collector's site). Mattel's exclusives this year run between $20 and $85, but elite toys can fetch much more when they're put up for auction. The crown jewel for Wadleigh and his team this year is a Darth Vader die-cast car, the first official collaboration from Hot Wheels and the "Star Wars" franchise. The car - imagine if a Chevrolet Corvette C5 and the villainous Sith lord's helmet had a baby - comes in a sleek black box and encased in a replica of Vader's lightsaber, complete with a swooshing sound effect. "We've been trying to partner with Lucasfilm and Disney on this property for a long time," said Wadleigh. A full-size working replica of the Vadermobile will be on display at Mattel's booth at the massive San Diego Convention Center.

NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.

Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray

Fri, 25 Oct 2013

We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.
