1972 Chevrolet Cheyenne 4x4 Long Bed W/ 16,000 Original Miles on 2040-cars
Pagosa Springs, Colorado, United States
Up for Auction is a 1972 Chevrolet Cheyenne K 2500, 3/4 ton 4x4 pick-up with only 16,000 original miles on it. That's right 16,000 not 116,000 miles. I called and confirmed the mileage with the fire department that purchased and owned the truck This truck was ordered as a cab and chassis with no bed by a small Fire Department in Ohio. I have the original build sheet. My understanding is that this truck was used as a vegetation fire fighting truck with a flat bed on it. With a small skid mount pump and tank. Obviously it was not used very much. There is some surface rust on the frame none on the body. I replaced the single exhaust system with a dual exhaust system while retaining the stock exhaust manifolds. It has a stock 350 c.i. engine with a 4 barrel. carb. and the transmission is automatic 350 turbo-hydro-matic. The truck has power steering and power disc brakes from the factory. The dash is wood grained, with a stock in the dash tachometer, and gauges. No idiot lights. I replaced the stock AM radio with a Custom Auto Sound radio with USB, and MP-3 inputs. I also added kick panel speakers, and a new stock center dash speaker. The stock A/M radio goes with the truck also. The seat is in good condition with some stitching starting to break. So I installed an Indian style seat cover with front pouches. I purchased a used bed that was rust free with saddle tanks. The saddle tanks have not yet been installed but go with the truck. I then had any body work that was needed done. The body work was to fill the small holes that the fire department had put in it to mount antennas and a light a bar on the roof. I left the two Unitrol spot lights in place on the "A" pillars. I had the truck repainted the original colors with two stage paint. That way the bed and cab had a perfect match. I can not find any evidence of ever any collision damage. All glass appears to be original w-factory rear sliding window. The 16" steel wheels are original and I put 4 new 10 ply BF Goodrich Commercial tires on them. The spare is a used tire in good condition on a new LMC mag. wheel. I replaced the Alternator and removed the regulator. I installed the needed pigtail to eliminate the regulator. The original Alternator also goes with the truck. This truck spent it's life in a Fire Department Apparatus Garage heated and being wiped down daily. The reason for selling the truck is I have another project waiting to be finished. The truck runs and drives well and is currently registered in Colorado. The buyer is responsible for shipping or pick up in person. A $1000.00 deposit is required. I will not disclose the Reserve Price, so please don't ask. This Truck is a Real Head Turner, it gets attention everywhere I go. Good Luck Bidding!

This is your 2014 Chevrolet SS
Sat, 16 Feb 2013Think you've waited long enough for this? If so, then you'll want to savor the high-res photos we've so far been given of the 2014 Chevrolet SS, the first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from The Bowtie in 17 years.
We all know its our version of the brand new VF-model Holden Commodore, but what's under the hood that earns the appellation "performance?" A 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine producing 415 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. That's 35 hp and lb-ft less than the same engine is expected to produce in the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. Chevrolet says the sedan will get from 0-to-60 miles per hour "in about five seconds."
Shifting comes courtesy of a six-speed automatic with paddles on the steering wheel, while stopping arrive via four-piston Brembo calipers up front, a single sliding piston in back. The forged aluminum wheels are 19-inchers all around, each set supporting right around 50 percent of the sedan's weight, and the aluminum hood and trunk are meant to keep the center of gravity low.
Indian tuner turns Chevy Optra into Mustang 'Eleanor' replica
Fri, 03 Aug 2012If you are a big fan of automotive oddities, this may come as a little treat. If you are a Shelby or Mustang diehard, prepare to have your sensibilities violated.
The master fabricators at BigDaddyCustoms are the minds behind what you see above. At first, it appears to be a slightly misshapen custom Mustang, modeled after "Eleanor" from Gone In 60 Seconds, but upon further examination, something appears to be amiss. In fact, the custom shop, based in India, has created an Eleanor replica grafted upon a lowly Chevrolet Optra. While it may take a second for the Optra to ring a bell, you should recognize its badge-engineered sibling, the Daewoo Lacetti, used on Top Gear.
We don't know what star would opt for the Reasonably Priced Car in Shelby's clothing, but it's clearly someone more concerned with the aesthetic than the performance credentials of this automotive mash-up.
Race Recap: 2013 Indianapolis 500 better than Bollywood; all the emotion, none of the music [spoilers]
Mon, 27 May 2013If the 2013 Indy 500 were a movie it would be the one expected to win all the little statues come awards season, and if it were an athlete it would have made spectators watch in awe as it broke record after record. And this kind of talk comes after last year's race was considered one of the best ever - the last lap hijinks in 2012 and Takuma Sato's crash leading to a podium ceremony straight out of a Golden Globes tearjerker.
But this year's race delivered more than anyone expected, from the 250,000 fans to the commentators to the IndyCar series itself and, finally, to the guy who hopped through a two-mile window on Lap 197 to take the lead and keep it until the end.
