FEEL FREE TO MAKE AN OFFER ANYTIME AND I CAN MAKE A DEAL AT ANY TIME DURING THE AUCTION. I CAN TALK VIA PHONE ALSO AND CAN HELP WITH THE SHIPPING PROCESS. 1968 K20 CHEVY 3/4 TON 4X4. This truck is in original condition and is a great candidate for restoration. It has the original engine and paint. Most of the truck is original. The body is very solid on this truck, but has some of the rust normally associated with '67-72 gm trucks. It is better than most though. I bought this truck from the grandaughter of the original owner. Here are all the details. Many more pics in the listing and I can email even more. I would like to put a link in here for them, but ebay doesn't allow it anymore. There is also a video of it running in my link. Email address for more pics: TUDDY5@MSN.COM
MECHANICAL
The chevy has the original 240 horsepower 4-barrel 327 V8. It runs great and doesn't smoke at all. Has good oil pressure and runs cool. It has good tires with about 50% tread. This has
manual steering and brakes. Brakes work good. Parking brake works. Original radio. Everything on the interior appears original. Original broadcast sheet/build sheet is still in the glovebox. Jack and handle are behind the seat and appear original. No a/c. Four speed manual works as it should. Throw-out bearing has a little noise but not bad. It's completely driveable. No major leaks but has the usual seepage. I was told the engine could have low miles on a rebuild. I have no paperwork though. It does run very strong and starts right up. It has a performer RPM intake. It sounds like it may have an RV cam. Exhaust sounds good. Has good power and is probably closer to 300hp now. The truck needs no major mechanical work. I'm sure a tune-up/fluid change wouldn't hurt but it doesn't really need it. Drives good down the highway. The headlights, taillights, turnsignals, horn, parking brake and wipers work. Original radio doesn't come on. BODY The body is very solid for an unrestored truck of this
vintage. These trucks are known for having bad rust problems. This truck has no rust in the box. Drivers fender is nice. Passenger has tiny amount of pinhole rust starting in the low corner. Hood has minor rust but another better hood is included. Inner fenders and frame have no rust. Header, firewall, roof and dash are fine. Cab has the usual rocker rust. Has floorpan rust close to the rockers but not too bad. Will need to be fixed though. Usable as is and no worry about your feet falling out. One cab corner needs repaired. The other one looks ok but I would do both if you do the one, because it's most likely thin if the other is.Minor rust on bottom of the doors. Paint appears original and from my experience, I'm confident that it is. Original 8000 gvw sticker is still on the box on the drivers sidee. No signs of bondo. Original owner sprayed primer here and there to cover surface rust. Most of it's faded off now though. Box is mostly straight but has a couple wrinkles to be fixed. Tailgate opens/closes and latches, as do the doors and hood. INTERIOR This is pretty basic and the pics tell the story. It all looks original and it is usable but needs restored. OVERALL This is a very cool chevy project. How many do you see
at car shows? I see lots of custom shortbox stepsides, which I like, but it's
cool to seen an original restored 4x4. I would personally drive it as-is and it would be nice to put an original set of hubcaps on it. Feel free to ask questions and make an offer. I can talk via phone if
you'd like. SOLD AS-IS |

Weekly Recap: Racing legend Jim Hall explains Chevy's futuristic Chaparral concept
Sat, Nov 22 2014"I said our cars are built to be winners." – Jim Hall Racing legend Jim Hall never thought he'd be a video game consultant, but when Chevrolet asked for his advice to create a futuristic Chaparral for the Vision Gran Turismo series, he was eager to help. He reviewed early sketches and suggested some changes that made it onto the concept, including the addition of a camera that's mounted onto a mast over the cabin to aid the driver. The Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept was revealed this week at the Los Angeles Auto Show and will be part of a downloadable update for PlayStation 3's Gran Turismo 6 in December. Theoretically, at least, it uses a laser-beam propulsion system and an air-powered generator to produce 900 horsepower in the video game. It's capable of sprinting to 60 miles per hour in 1.5 seconds en route to a top speed of 240 mph. Those gaudy performance specs – even in the virtual world – came at Hall's urging. "I said our cars are built to be winners," Hall told Autoblog on the floor of the Los Angeles show. The 79-year-old drove Lotus racecars in Formula One before launching the successful Chaparral Cars in the 1960s. Like his innovative Can-Am racers, the Vision Gran Turismo project has an eye toward the future. It also introduces the iconic Chaparral name to a new generation of fans, and hopefully, Hall says, gets them excited about engineering and design. "It emulates what we did in the '60s," he said. And what they did back then still resonates. Chaparral Racing and Chevy partnered more than 45 years ago for development work on the composite monocoque chassis, lightweight alloy powertrains, automatic gearboxes and active aerodynamics. "He [Hall] walked right back into this and was able to apply thinkings and learnings," said Clay Dean, General Motors executive director of advanced design. The Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept was created at GM's North Hollywood advanced design studio, and it will be on display at the show through November. Is Buick's surprise Detroit concept a Camaro-sized coupe?
Sun, Jan 10 2016Tomorrow night marks the unofficial start of the 2016 Detroit Auto Show. Keep your eyes peeled for a number of reveals, including a surprise debut from Buick. Yes, Buick. And we think it's going to be something really hot. According to a report from Bloomberg, the Tri-Shield's secret car could be a Camaro-sized sport coupe concept. As Bloomberg explains, it'd certainly gel with the impression the company is trying to put out – that it's no longer a brand for those with one foot in the grave. Introducing a sports coupe, even as a concept, could certainly reinforce that message. And if it happens to make production – which is not a certainty, Bloomberg's secret source says – it could certainly help Buick drive its average buyer age down from 59. Bloomberg doesn't offer any speculation on Buick's new coupe, but we have no problem making educated guesses. Our most reliable conjecture is this: it will ride on General Motors' Alpha platform, which underpins both the Camaro and the Cadillac ATS. And with a certain twin-turbocharged V6 in the GM stable, we've got an idea of what kind of engine could be shown. That speculation will have to suffice for now. But don't worry, we'll have official details, live images, and video tomorrow when Buick unveils its new concept in Detroit's Eastern Market.
Cadillac could base its entry-level sedan on the Chevy Cruze [UPDATE]
Wed, Apr 27 2016UPDATE: Cadillac spokesperson Donny Nordlicht tells Autoblog , "The post speculating on a future Cadillac model derived from the Chevrolet Cruze is completely false." Premium automakers Mercedes-Benz and Audi have seen plenty of success with new small front-drive-based sedans. The CLA-Class had its best January ever this year, while Audi moved more of its new A3 in 2015 than its predecessor sold in 2005 through 2010 combined. The fact that Cadillac wants a piece of that pie is no surprise, then. There's a new rumor that GM's luxury brand could launch its own compact – possibly called CT2 – to battle the Germans. Cadillac, a brand that's pushed hard to rebuild its rear-drive reputation, could develop a new entry-level model based on the front-wheel-drive 2016 Chevrolet Cruze's D2XX platform. Go ahead and make your Cimarron jokes. Sources are telling GM Inside News that a Cadillac built on the Delta platform would ditch the Cruze's turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder for a 1.5-liter turbo in base models. General Motors' well received 2.0-liter turbo four would serve in higher-end models. According to GMIN, the Delta-based Cadillac would likely command a $6,000 to $9,000 premium over the Cruze, so figure $23,000 to $26,000 on the low end to $30,000 to $33,000 for something at the top of the range. As much as we dislike the kind of badge engineering that brought us the Cavalier-based Cadillac Cimarron in the '80s, the company has done an admirable job of distinguishing vehicles on shared platforms lately. A Delta-platform Cadillac would at least have a good basis – the new Cruze is surprisingly comfy. That said, we question GM's rationale if this rumor is indeed true. Put simply, Cadillac needs another sedan like I need another student loan payment. The company has four sedans, three of which overlap two segments, and none of which are selling very well. That's not because they're bad, but because customers want crossovers, of which Caddy has but one – the new XT5. Spending the time and money to add a fifth sedan to the mix when the company desperately needs to flesh out its CUV range would be a tremendous mistake. As much as we hate to say it, if Cadillac really wants to add a small, entry-level car to its range, it'd better be a crossover. Related Video:
