I didn't think I would ever sell her but here it she is! A supurb Kentucky '94 K1500 4x4 short wheel base with the desired and somewhat rare (in 1500's) Heavy duty NV4500 manual transmission and great color! This tranny is usually found in 2500 and 3500 rigs paired with big blocks and diesels, but GM did put some into 1/2 tons during those years. It also is a Silverado that is built a little different with super hard to find factory color keyed vinyl floorboard and roll up windows for deceased maintenance that many desire in older trucks. This truck has 9/10 or higher camel color interior that is nearly flawless! Headliner looks great and dash is not cracked anywhere! The truck is rust free and has only one dime sized dimple that I had a difficult time capturing in photo. Paint or clear coat is not peeling anywhere. Body is super straight and paint looks good. Engine is strong and has good oil pressure. This trucked was owned by same fellow and wife for over 10 years and remained in his family after passing away. Then brother traded it in after keeping it a while due to not liking the stick shift.  I've had this truck for 2 1/2 years and used it as daily driver. Its always has been garage kept and serviced regularly. The only reason I'm selling is I brought a newer 2500 and do not need 2 trucks. The tires have plenty of tread remaining. The rear end is the locking/ positive and not too low or high 3:73. The truck has an easy 171xxx miles and has never been abused or mudded. Sounds great with true duels from the manifold back with duel inlet/outlet muffler and hidden duel pipes that I terminated after the axle giving a clean look. The cruise does not work but could easily be fixed due to the simplicity of the system. The air conditioning needs charging and has leek somewhere, again a easy fix. I have all the manuals and 2 sets of keys. These trucks this nice go for a lot more than I'm starting and with these options probably a lot more! This truck has been in western KY since new! I have sold 3 vehicles on eBay over the years and thus far, all were very happy with purchases. Happy bidding and Merry Christmas!

GM files for Z71 Trail Boss trademark

Mon, Jan 26 2015

Try as they might to keep their plans a secret, automakers have their hands tipped through a variety of methods – be they through loose lips, spy shots or patent and trademark applications. That's how we know, in this instance, that General Motors is working on (or at least considering) an off-road machine wearing the name Z71 Trail Boss – the name which our compatriots at AutoGuide.com tell us that GM has registered for use on light-duty trucks. Now if that alphanumeric designator sounds familiar, it should. GM has long used it to designate the off-road packages on many of its body-on-frame trucks from Chevy and GMC. These days you can order a Z71 package on the Chevy Colorado, Silverado, Tahoe and Suburban and on the GMC Canyon, Sierra and Yukon. The package typically includes components like a beefed-up suspension bits, high-capacity air cleaner and underbody protection plates. The Trail Boss designator would seem to suggest something further reaching than a suspension package, though. Just what it would entail we don't know; minds immediately start running toward Chevy or GMC going after the Ford F-150 Raptor, but we'll likely be looking at something closer to the Trailhawk packages Jeep offers on the likes of the Renegade and Cherokee. 2015 Chevrolet Cruze spied on its home turf

Tue, 23 Apr 2013

The next Chevrolet Cruze isn't set to go into production for about another year, and we're just now seeing prototypes of the new compact running around here in the States. Not much more has been revealed since we saw the car blasting through the snow in Europe, but we can still clearly see new design elements like the larger grille, slimmer headlamps and redesigned taillamps.
Our spy photographers worked up a composite image of this Cruze prototype alongside the current model, and here, we can clearly see some big visual changes are in store for the new model. The 2015 Cruze's hood slopes downward more dramatically, the windshield is more heavily raked, and the roofline looks more fluid overall. The next-generation Cruze will ride on the new global Delta platform that will also underpin other General Motors vehicles like the Chevrolet Volt and Equinox.
As for what's under the hood, we expect the normal range of gasoline four-cylinder engines (both naturally aspirated and turbocharged), and the compact's new turbodiesel four should carry over, as well. Have a look at the full brace of spy photos in the gallery above.

Top horsepower-per-dollar cars in 2017

Tue, Feb 17 2015

Bang for the buck. That quasi-scientific statistic is bandied about by motor heads everywhere from classrooms to barrooms, though the truth of the matter is that it's exceedingly complex to measure. A fair performance-per-dollar index would include something like cross-referencing MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) with point-to-point times on a track or driving route, which is obviously hard to do comprehensively. But, for the sheer joy of talking about cars and playing with a big spreadsheet, there's always the horsepower-per-dollar index, which is more straightforward, albeit hilariously flawed. There are vagaries even with this simple formula, of course: MSRP for vehicles can change at a moment's notice, to say nothing of the bottom-line shifting that happens with local deals or showroom negotiation. For this list we're running with the straight MSRP wherever possible, and as recently reported as we can get it. All the vehicles on this list are 2017 models, and all trims are reported where the lowest price and differing power levels intersect. Some choices were made for personal preference and some for sanity, avoiding things like all 48 trim levels of the Ford Transit, all with the same horsepower). If this list were a simple top ten, or even a top fifty, you'd be bored to tears with all the red, white and blue that is represented. Following perfectly with conventional wisdom, American cars really do lead the world where hp/$ is concerned. So, for the sake of variety (and the sheer joy of seeing a minivan 'win' one round of this thing) I've sorted out some top five and bottom five lists for broad power categories. Let's dive in. Less Than 100 Horsepower Okay, okay, this is hardly a category we'll grant you. But we've often tried to click off all the sub-100-hp cars on sale in the US, and making this list gave us an excuse. It also illustrates that none of these smallish vehicles bring cheap horsepower to the table - for that you'll need a motorcycle. The segment-leading Chevy Spark (above) asks just over $139 for each hp, and that Smart Fortwo Electric Drive has hp on sale for about the same price as its very distant family cousin, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (insert your favorite Smart joke here... we know you want to).
