1992 GMC short bed step side show truck. This truck was professionally built by a 30 year body shop manager. The work was done in the Spring and Summer of 2010. It was done right and it has 16,769 miles on since restoration. The restoration besides all body work includes: Summit power engine kit with forged pistons 9:72, summit cam kit, all ARP bolts, summit gear drive, new flywheel, summit shorty truck headers, holly 670 street avenger carburetor with electic choke on a Edelbrock air gap intake. B & M truck mega shifter with 2400 stall converter and shift kit. Rally wheels with SS knock offs, 60's on the front and 50's on the rear tires, 342 read end gears. Cowl induction hood, shaved power door locks, shaved rear tailgate.

INTERIOR: Gauges, carpets, leather seat covers, CD player, new grill with smoothed front bumper, and new steering wheel. The paint on the vehicle is Skittle Red Orange by DuPont. Has new heat and air controls panel. This truck is nearly perfect. Runs as good as it looks. Over $25,000 invested. This was a complete bodyoff restoration.

Have all receipts for the overhaul of the 350 engine with Vortec heads and have the receipts for the complete rebuild of the transmission. The engine was rebuilt March 1, 2010, by Engine Rebuilding and Installation Machine Shop in Collinsville, IL. Transmission rebuilt by the same shop. Total engine and transmission cost was $5,681.65.

We've had the truck approximately a year and a half and put on roughly 3,000 miles. The gentleman we purchased the truck from was in his seventies and only drove the truck on nice days or to car shows. We have done the same. Truck has never been out in snow or rain since we've owned it. Taken pictures of undercarriage and it looks as good as the rest of the truck. Same for under the hood and interior. All I can say is that this is a great truck and would make someone proud to own it.

The truck is located in Beloit, WI. Require a $500 deposit is due within 48 hours at the end of the auction. The rest to be paid when truck is picked up within 7 days. If you win the auction and come to pick up the truck and you do not like the truck or the way it looks and thinks it was decribed wrong your $500 will be returned to you. Thats how sure I am that you will like the truck. If you have any questions regarding this truck please call (573) 243-8459.

Sorry about the quality of the pictures. This truck is a whole lot sharper than the pictures show it to be. I'm not good working a camera. You will be surprised the reserve on this truck is very low compared to the actual value of the vehicle.

Best car infotainment systems: From UConnect to MBUX, these are our favorites

Sun, Jan 7 2024

Declaring one infotainment system the best over any other is an inherently subjective matter. You can look at quantitative testing for things like input response time and various screen load times, but ask a room full of people that have tried all car infotainment systems what their favorite is, and you’re likely to get a lot of different responses. For the most part, the various infotainment systems available all share a similar purpose. They aim to help the driver get where they're going with navigation, play their favorite tunes via all sorts of media playback options and allow folks to stay connected with others via phone connectivity. Of course, most go way beyond the basics these days and offer features like streaming services, in-car performance data and much more. Unique features are aplenty when you start diving through menus, but how they go about their most important tasks vary widely. Some of our editors prefer systems that are exclusively touch-based and chock full of boundary-pushing features. Others may prefer a back-to-basics non-touch system that is navigable via a scroll wheel. You can compare it to the phone operating system wars. Just like some prefer Android phones over iPhones, we all have our own opinions for what makes up the best infotainment interface. All that said, our combined experience tells us that a number of infotainment systems are at least better than the rest. WeÂ’ve narrowed it down to five total systems in their own subcategories that stand out to us. Read on below to see our picks, and feel free to make your own arguments in the comments. Best infotainment overall: UConnect 5, various Stellantis products Ram 1500 Uconnect Infotainment System Review If thereÂ’s one infotainment system that all of us agree is excellent, itÂ’s UConnect. It has numerous qualities that make it great, but above all else, UConnect is simple and straightforward to use. Ease of operation is one of the most (if not the single most) vital parts of any infotainment system interface. If youÂ’re expected to be able to tap away on a touchscreen while driving and still pay attention to the road, a complex infotainment system is going to remove your attention from the number one task at hand: driving. UConnect uses a simple interface that puts all of your key functions in a clearly-represented row on the bottom of the screen. Tap any of them, and it instantly pulls up that menu.

More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.

Sinkhole Opens Up In National Corvette Museum, Swallows Eight Cars

Wed, Feb 12 2014

More cars are being moved inside the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Ky. to avoid falling down the same sinkhole that swallowed eight classic sports cars early this morning, Autoblog reported. Museum officials said the hole was discovered when motion sensors activated around 5:45 a.m. The rescue mission can be viewed on the museum's live feed cameras, which weren't working after the sinkhole emerged. A 1993 ZR-1 Spyder and a 2009 ZR1 "Blue Devil," both on loan from General Motors, were among the cars that fell into the sinkhole. The museum owned the other affected Corvettes, which included a 1963 Corvette, a 1984 PPG Pace Car and the 1 millionth Corvette ever produced. The state of the cars at the bottom of the hole isn't known, but trial lawyer and sinkhole expert Ted Corless said the cars may be a total loss for the museum and GM. "Most states, including Kentucky, exclude damage caused by sinkhole activity," he said. "There will be, in all likelihood, a claim made, but a lot of policies would specifically exclude these kinds of damages." Corless has 15 years experience dealing with sinkholes. He said that typically neither the building, nor the cars themselves are protected under their insurance policies. "I would have to say, more likely then not, they're going to have an uninsured loss measured in the hundreds of thousands of dollars." The museum is closed Wednesday while a structural engineer assesses the damage.
