Going ........................................... Going ............................................ GONE!

Up for auction is the following truck:

1995 Chevy Z71 truck.

GOOD POINTS:

350 Chevy Motor With Aluminum Intake & Carb. About 2 - 21/2 Year Old Crate Motor.

Auto Trans Has Been Rebuilt About 10 Months Ago By A Professional Auto Repair Shop.

New Camo Dash Cover.

Kenwood AM/FM CD Stereo With Wireless Remote Control.

New Water Pump (1 Month Old).

Other Misc Newer Parts.

New Inside Door Handles (Right & Left)

WHAT NEEDS DONE:

The Water Pump Went Out A Month Ago And Overheated. Water Does Not Look Like Is In The Oil & Oil Does Not Look Like It Is In The Anti-Freeze To Me, But It Is Smoking With A Anti-Freeze Smell Coming From The Exhaust. I THINK It Needs A Head Gasket, I Have Not Had This Confirmed By A Professional Mechanic Though.

I Took The Door Panels Off To Install The Door Handles & Have Not Put Them Back On Yet. Honestly, As Low As I'm Starting This Off For I Figure The New Owner Can Snap Them Back On The Doors (EZ Job But I Have A Horrible Back Problem).

I bought a brand new battery a week ago and returned it, I couldn't get my old battery back so it will need a battery.

Windshield Has A Crack In It.

I Don't Believe It Will Take Much To Get This In Tip Top Shape And Be Worth About $3500.00! It Ran Strong The Last Time That I Took It Out, Just Smoked.

I Was Getting Ready To Go To The Dump And Empty The Trash Out Of The Back And It Will Be Emptied By The Time It's Sold.

NOTE: This is being sold as-is with NO warranty what so ever. It is being sold as a "fixer upper".

I have never used the 4WD, so I can't tell you either way on how it works.

Sold as-is, as shown in the photo(s).

By looking on eBay a head gasket cost as little as $30.00 with free shipping. It was confirmed by someone that it is indeed a head gasket, thank you.

Consumer Reports declares most and least loved cars [w/video]

Wed, Dec 3 2014

Consumer Reports is crunching the numbers from its annual owner-satisfaction survey, and part of that process is finding out how attached drivers are to their cars. CR simply asks readers of models up to three years old if they would buy the same vehicle again in light of their entire ownership experience, and tallies the results. After looking at the responses for about 350,000 vehicles, it turns out that people really love a certain California-built, electrically powered luxury sedan. That's right, this year's the overall winner was the Tesla Model S with a whopping 98 percent of owners saying they would purchase another one (the Model S also won this award last year, with 99 percent satisfaction). The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray came in a close second with 95 percent of drivers hoping to park another one in their garage. A few models weren't quite so favored, though. The Nissan Versa Sedan was the least loved model among its owners; a mere 42 percent said that they would purchase another. The aging Jeep Compass didn't do much better, with just 43 percent of drivers willing to buy the softroader again. On average, about 70 percent of owners say they would buy their car again, and only four cars ranked below 50 percent in CR's findings. Check out the video above to see some of the winners and losers in a few of CR's categories. If you're a subscriber, you can check out the full list on its website. A car writer's year in new vehicles [w/video]

Thu, Dec 18 2014

Christmas is only a week away. The New Year is just around the corner. As 2014 draws to a close, I'm not the only one taking stock of the year that's we're almost shut of. Depending on who you are or what you do, the end of the year can bring to mind tax bills, school semesters or scheduling dental appointments. For me, for the last eight or nine years, at least a small part of this transitory time is occupied with recalling the cars I've driven over the preceding 12 months. Since I started writing about and reviewing cars in 2006, I've done an uneven job of tracking every vehicle I've been in, each year. Last year I made a resolution to be better about it, and the result is a spreadsheet with model names, dates, notes and some basic facts and figures. Armed with this basic data and a yen for year-end stories, I figured it would be interesting to parse the figures and quantify my year in cars in a way I'd never done before. The results are, well, they're a little bizarre, honestly. And I think they'll affect how I approach this gig in 2015. {C} My tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015 it'll be as high as 73. Let me give you a tiny bit of background about how automotive journalists typically get cars to test. There are basically two pools of vehicles I drive on a regular basis: media fleet vehicles and those available on "first drive" programs. The latter group is pretty self-explanatory. Journalists are gathered in one location (sometimes local, sometimes far-flung) with a new model(s), there's usually a day of driving, then we report back to you with our impressions. Media fleet vehicles are different. These are distributed to publications and individual journalists far and wide, and the test period goes from a few days to a week or more. Whereas first drives almost always result in a piece of review content, fleet loans only sometimes do. Other times they serve to give context about brands, segments, technology and the like, to editors and writers. So, adding up the loans I've had out of the press fleet and things I've driven at events, my tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015, it'll be as high as 73. At one of the buff books like Car and Driver or Motor Trend, reviewers might rotate through five cars a week, or more. I know that number sounds high, but as best I can tell, it's pretty average for the full-time professionals in this business.

Chevy SS prototype spotted wearing Pontiac G8 clothes

Tue, 28 Aug 2012

Do not adjust your computer screen, you are not seeing the rebirth of the Pontiac brand. General Motors has chosen to use a G8 to disguise a test mule for the latest prototype of the forthcoming Chevrolet SS. The G8 was closely related to the Holden Commodore and Vauxhall VXR, the platform upon which the new Chevrolet performance model will be based. It should come as little surprise, then, that GM has opted to use the cladding from the former G8.
Thought the front clip of this mule is pure Pontiac, note the vents immediately behind the front wheel. That is a distinctive design hallmark of the Vauxhall VXR. Also note that this vehicle is right-hand drive, as the Holden and its Chevy counterpart will be very closely related. That likely includes potential drivetrains. The spy photos of this mule also reveal very wide rear tires, and rear wheels that do not match the fronts.
