I have too many toys, so I have decided to sell a few of them.  This auction is for my 1995 Chevrolet K1500 4x4 Silverado.  It is a beautiful truck that needs nothing other than a new home.  It is a very reliable truck that I would drive anywhere with no concerns.

This 1995 Chevy is basically a new truck.  Everything is new.

I have owned this truck for about 4 years.  It was painted just before I purchased it.  There was a fender bender prior to it being painted.  The driver's side cab corner and rocker were repaired.  The driver's door was also bent a bit and was replaced (easier option).  The driver's door didn't get painted on the inside (dark green)...and the rocker is still in primer.  I wasn't worried about it since I planned to use bedliner to paint the inside of the doors and the rockers on both sides.  I have not had the time to do that yet.  I do have a couple of cans of blue paint that would match that I am including in case you want to paint it blue again.  I also have a little extra paint from when the truck was painted (both colors).  The body was rust free when it was painted...and it is still rust free.  It looks nice with the medium blue paint and dark blue fender flares and Super Sport stripes on the hood.  I don't drive it in the winter.  From how clean the underside is, I would say it saw very little winter driving.  It is clean enough to eat off of...still has original paint underneath.  The body and paint still look great.  The truck is nice enough to take to shows.  It is not perfect in every way, but it is a 1995 Chevrolet and is very nice for the age.  I don't drive it off-road (too pretty).  It is a pavement pounder.  It would be a very capable off-road toy if so desired.

The truck is all decked out.  The cowl hood is a nice steel hood.  The truck also has a sun roof.  There are tons of other extras -- Ranch Hand bumpers (front and rear), aftermarket tail lights, HID headlights, new horns, roll bar with KC Lights (never used), another pair of KC Lights on the front bumper (never used), blue windshield wipers (dual blade), vent shades, chrome diamond plate bed caps, chrome on the lower body, big whip CB antennas, chrome door handles, chrome tailgate handle, chrome fuel door cover, wiper huggies (help the windshield wipers work better), tinted windows, fender flares, rubber bed mat, etc.....way too much to list.

It is not just pretty...everything is great mechanically, too.  There is so much to talk about...I will try to cover the basics.  The truck shows 221872 miles on the odometer.  I have driven it a little over 4000 miles since I purchased it.  During that time, everything has been gone through.  The engine was supposed to have been replaced before I purchased the truck and had low miles on it.  The 350 engine has been tuned up (belts, hoses, plugs, wires, etc.), had the timing set, and has been thoroughly checked over.  If anything needed replaced, it was replaced.  It has a new throttle body spacer (Helix Power Tower)...K&N cold air intake system...a new battery...and so on.  The truck runs great.  I never use the AC, so I am sure it needs to be recharged (if you want to use it).  The radiator is new.  The headers were just installed...with new true dual exhaust.  It sounds great with the Flowmaster Super 44 mufflers and Magnaflow tips.  The truck has 3.73 gears and has no problems at any speed whether driving it in town or on the highway.  The front differential has been replaced.  The 4-wheel-drive actuator is new.  The steering gear box is new.  The whole front end has been rebuilt (ball joints, control arm bushings, tie rod ends, etc.)...and it has been freshly aligned.  Basically everything in the front end is new.  The transfer case has been flushed and inspected.  It is in good working order.  The transmission is new (overdrive).  All u-joints in the truck are new.  The rear end has new axle shafts, bearings, seals, etc.  All brakes are new -- pads and calipers in the front, shoes in the rear, etc.  Everything has been gone through.  It is like a new truck.

The Silverado is lifted with big tires.  It is like a monster truck.  The truck has a 4" suspension lift and a 3" body lift (7 inches of lift) and new 35" Dick Cepek Crusher tires.  The tires are similar to Super Swamper Boggers but last a lot longer.  They are great tires.  The tires are mounted to nice polished aluminum wheels.  The tires make the nice hum sound going down the road.  It is like music to my ears.

The interior is very nice for a 1995 Chevrolet truck.  The interior is blue and is very clean.  There are a couple of cigarette burns on the seats (from a previous owner - I don't smoke).  There are a couple of cracks on the dash, too.  There is minimal wear on the driver's seat.  Other than that, it is nice.  The truck has power windows and locks.  It has a Sony CD player, Sony 6.5" speakers in the doors, and a nice setup under the back seat with 2 10" Kicker subs powered by a Kicker amp.  The stereo system is basically new and sounds great.  All gauges work properly.  Everything works fine.  There are other extras, too -- pedal covers, steering wheel cover, nice floor mats in the front and back, new inside door handles (with visors and power window switch covers to match), etc.  There are many new parts...too many to mention.

This truck rides like a Cadillac going down the highway.  Even on bumpy streets in town, it still rides nice (especially for a lifted truck).  It is a nice looking truck.  It runs, drives, and sounds great.  Everyone compliments me on the truck.  I will regret selling it, but I have too many toys.

I will be happy to show you the truck if you would like to give it a personal inspection.  Also feel free to ask questions.  I may have left something out (too much information to mention on this truck).

Thanks and Happy Bidding.

Cadillac CT6 production ceases January 2020 as part of D-Ham layoffs

Fri, Dec 6 2019

General Motors filed paperwork under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act with Michigan's Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity this week, detailing events to come at the automaker's Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Starting February 28, 814 salaried and hourly workers at D-Ham, as its called, will be laid off. The 753 workers represented by the UAW will begin receiving offers in January to relocate to facilities in Michigan and Ohio, or buyout offers. As the 4-million-square-foot plant winds down through April 3 to a skeleton crew, the Cadillac CT6 ceases production in January 2020, and the last Chevrolet Impala comes off the line on February 28. The loss of the CT6 represents the end of Cadillac's latest brief, and highly regarded, adventure into flagship sedans. It might also mean the end of the 4.2-liter Blackwing twin-turbo V8 engine, at least for the moment. Both casualties are calamities. The death of the Impala closes the door on a nameplate in production for 52 years since 1957, having started off as a top-tier trim for the 1958 Bel Air known as the Bel Air Impala, once advertised with the line, "Lets you know you're the boss." As part of the new four-year labor agreement with the UAW, GM is keeping D-Ham open to build a new line of battery-electric vehicles, ultimately investing $3 billion and tripling employment to 2,225 workers when fully operational. The agreement described the coming EV as a "van" that would commence production in late 2021, but various reports say what's actually coming is a range of premium EVs in pickup and SUV bodystyles under the program codename BT1. The easy predictions put an electric GMC Sierra and Cadillac Escalade among the EV fold, but not until 2023, according to auto industry forecaster LMC Automotive. Before that, LMC claims an electric van will debut in late 2021, along with a battery-powered rebirth of the Hummer brand in pickup and SUV forms, also in late 2021.

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.
