HAVE FOR SALE 1994 CHEVY 1500 EXTENDED CAB 4X4 PICK UP WITH LOTS OF EXTRAS!!

1994 WAS THE LAST YEAR AVAILABLE WITH THE LARGE ROOM INTERIOR, IN 1995 CHEVY PICKUP WENT WITH A SMALLER STYLE INTERIOR WHICH I FOUND TO BE MUCH MORE CRAMPED. ALSO, 1994 WAS THE LAST YEAR THAT CHEVROLET HAD THE 5.7L TBI FUEL INJECTED ENGINE WHICH WAS VERY RELIABLE AND ONE OF THE MOST EASIEST TRUCKS ON THE MARKET TO WORK ON. IN 1995 CHEVY WENT TO A "POPPET VALVE" FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM THAT WAS TOTALLY UNRELIABLE AND MUCH MORE COMPLICATED AND SO CHEVROLET WENT WITH A NEWER DESIGN IN THE NEXT FEW YEARS OF PRODUCTION.

I AM RELUCTANT TO SELL THIS TRUCK BECAUSE I HAVE ENJOYED IT FOR SO MANY YEARS. HOWEVER, I AM STARTING TO ACCUMULATE SO MANY VEHICLES THAT I HAVE TO GET RID OF IT.

CONSIDERING THE AGE OF THE VEHICLE THE INTERIOR IS IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE. HOWEVER THE HEADLINER IS SAGGING A BIT AND THERE IS A TEAR IN THE LEFT SIDE OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT, ALSO A COUPLE OF SMALL STAINS HERE AND THERE ON THE SEATS AND CARPET.

THE TRUCK FRAME, BRAKES, TRANSMISSION, DIFFERENTIALS AND TRANSFER CASE ARE ALL IN GREAT SHAPE, NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER.

THE BODY HAS A FEW DINGS AND DENTS ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE BEHIND THE DRIVER'S DOOR AND A SMALL DING ON THE TAIL GATE. ALSO, THE PAINT HAS STARTED TO FADE A BIT.

TIRES ARE IN GOOD SHAPE, BUT HAVE A COUPLE DIFFERENT BRANDS IN THE REAR COMPARED TO THE FRONT.

THE ENGINE IS IN DESENT SHAPE, HOWEVER IT HAS A SLIGHT TAPPING SOUND ONECE IT STARTS TO GET WARMED UP AT IDLE. THE MOTOR DOES NOT LEAK OIL AND RUNS VERY STRONG AND HAS PASSED THE SMOG INSPECTION JUST A FEW DAYS AGO

AS WITH THE CLIMATE CONTROL; THE HEATER, FAN MOTOR AND VENT CONTROLS ALL WORK PROPERLY. ON THE OTHER HAND THE A/C DOES NOT WORK DUE TO A FAULTY COMPRESSOR.

AS FOR THE EXTRAS...

THIS TRUCK COMES WITH A FULL USED MOTOR WITH INTACT, TBI, DISTRIBUTOR, AND ALL SENSORS. ENGINE WAS RUNNING GREAT WHEN IT CAME OUT OF A 1989 SUBURBAN DUE TO THE OWNER WANTING TO CHANGE THE MOTOR FOR A DIESEL.

WITH THIS PURCHASE YOU WILL GET A USED A/C COMPRESSOR TO REPAIR THE A/C UNIT. ALL THAT IS NEEDED TO GET IT UP AND RUNNING AGAIN IS A NEW ACCUMULATOR AND A CHARGE OF 134A.

ALSO,  THE TRUCK COMES WITH A REMOVABLE LARGE BOOM BOX AND VERY LARGE BASS AMP THAT THAT FITS IN THE BACK SEAT WHICH HAS QUICK DISCONNECT FOR EASY REMOVAL IF WANTING TO USE THE REAR SEAT. BOOM BOX IS WIRED UP TO THE ALPINE C/D RADIO UP FRONT WITH REMOTE. ALSO UNDER THE DRIVER'S SEAT THERE IS A ALPINE 6 DISK C/D CHANGER. TWO SPEAKERS UNDER THE FRONT DASH HAVE BEEN UP GRADED ALONG WITH TWO SPEAKERS REAR PILLARS BEHIND THE FRONT DOORS. 6 SPEAKERS IN ALL WITH BOOM BOX. WHEN BOOM BOX IS DISCONNECTED AND SET ASSIDE THE STOCK 4 SPEAKER SYSTEM WILL WORK WITHOUT BOOM BOX. PROBLEM IS ONE OR TWO SMALL SPEAKER IN THE REAR PILLARS I THINK MIGHT BE BLOWN, AND I THINK THE BOOM BOX AMP HAS LOST SOME POWER. THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT I HAVE A MUCH LARGER AMP WITH MONSTER CABLES AND OTHER ACCESSORIES TO TAKE ITS PLACE THAT I WILL DONATE TO THE SALE OF THE TRUCK.

New Corvette Feature Keeps An Eye On Valets

Wed, Aug 20 2014

Face it. If you own a luxury or sports car, whenever you hand the keys to a valet, you imagine the car going on a high-speed joyride like the Ferrari in the 1980s cult movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." Now, General Motors has an option on the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette that takes those worries away. The latest version of the sports car, due out in September, has a feature that records where the car goes with a camera mounted in the windshield trim. It also captures audio in the cabin as well as speed, engine revolutions per minute, gear position and G-force. That all helps the car tattle on any valet who doesn't take a slow, direct route to a parking space. GM says it's the most extensive attempt by an automaker to thwart valet joyriders, although it's not the first. The automotive website Edmunds.com says Hyundai and Mercedes offer "geofencing," a feature that sets a perimeter and then notifies the owner's smart phone if a car goes beyond it. Chrysler has a valet mode that caps engine speed and horsepower, while Audi lets owners limit engine speed for valets. With the Corvette, once the owner activates the feature with a four-digit code, the touch screen tells the driver it's in Valet Mode. But it doesn't warn the valet that he's being recorded. The feature also locks the glove box and a storage compartment in the dashboard and shuts down the infotainment system. Valet Mode started off as a performance data recorder for those who take their Corvettes on the racetrack. GM engineers quickly figured out that it had more uses. "Think of it as a baby monitor for your car," Corvette Product Manager Harlan Charles said in a statement. "Anyone who has felt apprehension about handing over their keys will appreciate the peace of mind of knowing exactly what happened while their baby was out of sight." Data and video from the valet mode can be viewed instantly by the owner on the car's 8-inch color screen when the car is parked, or it can be downloaded to a computer. The system could go into more mainstream models if feedback is good on the Corvette, GM spokesman Monte Doran said. The feature is paired with a navigation system and costs $1,795. A 2015 Corvette starts at just under $54,000. Chevrolet Technology Gadgets

Plug In 2014: VIA makes the case for 'free' plug-in hybrid work vans, trucks

Fri, Aug 1 2014

If you're a fleet manager who's been waiting anxiously for the chance to buy a plug-in hybrid van from Via Motors, your wait is almost over. If you work for the right fleet, anyway. David West, the chief marketing efficer for VIA Motors, took AutoblogGreen for a ride around the San Jose Convention Center in a Via van sporting an Electric Blue paint job as part of the Plug In 2014 Conference this week and gave us an update on how things are coming along. The big news is that the Via PHEV van production is going to start by the end of September. Via can currently build two vans an hour at its production plant in Mexico, or about 16 a day and could easily double that. "That would get us to 20,000 a year with two full lines running," West said. "We have the capacity." "There is no way gas can compete with electric." – David West, Via Motors But they can't sell that many quite yet. By the end of December, around 350 Vans will be made, mostly for a $20-million program from the Department of Energy (DOE) and the South Coast Air Quality Management District that will see the vehicles used by fleets that will report energy data to the Idaho National Lab. Via is also finishing up CARB certification for both the van and the company's plug-in hybrid pick-up truck. About 50 percent of Via's technology in the truck will not need to be tested again, since it's the same as what's in the van, but things like crash tests will need to be done twice. Despite the progress, this is not where Via hoped it would be today. The bankruptcy of battery supplier A123, "took about a year off our timeline," West said. "It's been getting a little slow getting it to market, there have been some challenges, particuarly since we had the country's worst recession right in the middle of this wrap up, but it's inevitable in my mind. There is no way gas can compete with electric." Maybe that's why FedEx has expressed an interest in buying around 5,000 units, West said. FedEx already has some pilot vehicles, just like Verizon does, and PG&E wants to replace all of their gas trucks with electric vehicles, which would be another 3,000 sales, he said. Besides the fuel savings, vehicles like these, with easy on-site power generation, could also work wonders in post-disaster situations, he said, since they could replace the need for generators.

Recharge Wrap-up: NEDC's NOx problems, autonomous Chevy Volts

Mon, Dec 7 2015

The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) found a significant difference in NOx emissions in Euro 6 diesel cars in NEDC and WLTC testing. While 88 percent of the cars tested met emissions standards for NEDC, NOx emissions averaged five times higher under WLTC, with only 27 percent of vehicles under the limit. WLTC is considered to be a more realistic driving cycle, using hot starts and factoring a higher top speed as well as harder and more frequent accelerations than the NEDC. Employees will be able to use a carsharing app to reserve a car, which will then drive itself to the set destination. The project will allow GM to collect important data and experience to help the company more quickly develop autonomous driving technology. The lithium-ion batteries used to power the EV were recycled from other Renault EVs. With the electric Trafic, Carwatt – a company that converts vehicles to use electric power – aims to demonstrate the "circular economy" of batteries, which can provide more value through a longer lifecycle. Read more in the press release below. Carwatt presents a unique automotive application for second-life batteries from electric vehicles. On the sidelines of the COP21 summit, in the Solutions Gallery running from 2 to 9 December 2015 in Le Bourget near Paris, Carwatt and its partners —Renault, Paris City Council, BPI France, the Ales Ecole des Mines Engineering School, and the Bobigny Business Campus — are showing a very special electric Renault Trafic. This prototype vehicle, the only one of kind in the world, is powered by second-life lithium-ion batteries recycled from Renault electric cars. Circular economy at work with electric vehicles When, over time, the batteries of a Renault electric vehicle fall the performance threshold specified for their initial automotive power duty (around 75% of initial capacity), they can still provide valuable service in "second-life" applications before end-of-life disposal at a recycling centre. Experiments are already under way on power storage applications, for example.
