Up for auction is my 1985 Chevy C-10 short bed pick-up truck ,I am the 3rd owner of this truck which I was told by the former owner that it was originally a 6 cyl. engine that was swapped out for a low milage Chevy 350 with an edelbrock intake ,I replaced the carb with a new holley 600 cfm added a tune up, which consisted of a new set of Accel 8mm wires ,cap, rotor and a set of AC Delco spark plugs . Truck also has headers and turbo mufflers that exit in front of the rear tires.The transmission is a 350 turbo with a shift kit. As far as the brakes go a new master was installed as well as a new radiator that was replaced about 6 months ago.I also had a new windshield installed,and the rest of the glass is in very good condition.This truck also has a custom grill as well as a rear Lund roll pan.The truck sits on a set of American Racing wheels with P255/70-15 Intimidator Roadking SR tires, the spare tire rim matches whats on the truck. As far as the interior goes I replaced the carpet and installed a JVC CD player with remote control however you will need to replace speakers and there is a small tear on the drivers seat .The body of the truck is in pretty good shape,the front bumper is very clean and the cab corners which seems to be the norm for these trucks to be replaced is really the only bad thing and will have to be done in addition to a paint job.The bed of the truck is in super clean condition as the pictures will show.THE RESERVE IS SET VERY LOW FOR THIS AUCTION AND THE PRICE IS VERY REASONABLE .Shipping is the buyers responsability and payment will be a certified bankers check which once clears I will overnight the title to you .Any question feel free to e-mail me and I will respond as quick as possible. Next-gen GMC Sierra spied with diesel power
Tue, Sep 5 2017The next generation of GM trucks is arriving soon, and we're expecting a huge leap forward over the current lineup. The Chevy Silverado and the GMC SIerra sell extremely well, but haven't done much to move the segment forward in a long time. The Ford F-150 has an all-aluminum body and turbocharged V6 power. The Ram 1500 gained a diesel and coil spring suspension. These spy shots show that diesel may be in the cards for GM. Some quick shots and copious use of flash show what is most likely a tank for diesel exhaust fluid and a diesel particulate filter, both necessary equipment for any modern diesel. It's unclear what form factor that engine will come in, though GM has a number of engines to choose from, including the 2.8-liter inline four that's found in the Colorado and Canyon, though that may be a little light duty for the Silverado and Sierra. Other rumors surrounding the trucks suggest a move to an aluminum cab while retaining a steel bed. That seems like a reasonable move for GM, even if the company was attempting to shame Ford for its move to aluminum a few years ago. Look for more news as early as the Detroit Auto Show in January. 800k car names trademarked globally, suddenly alphanumerics seem reasonable
Tue, 01 Oct 2013What's in a name? This cliched phrase probably gets tossed out at every marketing meeting that happens when a new car gets its nomenclature. We know the answer, though: everything. The name of a car has all the potential to make or break it with fickle customers that are more conscious than ever about what their purchases say about them.
That's giving headaches to marketing folks across the automotive industry. "It's tough. In 1985 there were about 75,000 names trademarked in the automotive space. Today there are 800,000," Chevrolet's head of marketing, Russ Clark, told Automotive News. Infiniti's president, Johan de Nysschen, echoed Clark's sentiment, saying, "The truth of the matter is, across the world, there is hardly a name or a letter that hasn't already been claimed by one car manufacturer or another. You can go through the alphabet - A, B, C and so forth - and you will quickly see that almost all available letters are taken."
What has that left automakers to do? Get creative. In the case of Infiniti, it made the controversial move to bring all of its cars' names into a new scheme, classifying them as Q#0 for cars and QX#0 for SUVs and crossovers. So the Infiniti G, which was available as the G25 and G37, is now the Q50. The FX37 and FX50 are now the QX70.
2016 Chevy Volt sneak peek at CES
Mon, Jan 5 2015Here it is, folks – your first real glimpse at the 2016 Chevrolet Volt. The gasoline-electric sedan will officially debut at the Detroit Auto Show next week, but Chevy gave us a sneak peek of its redesigned Volt at a media event in Las Vegas late Sunday, as part of its CES festivities. There isn't a ton to see here, and sorry about the low quality video (and for us not standing front and center during the reveal). But we can clearly see the car's redesigned front fascia – something recently previewed at a fan event in Los Angeles. Chevy even tweeted a photo of the Volt's new nose on its official Volt Twitter account, which you can see below. The automaker didn't divulge any details about its new Volt, but we already know quite a bit. For starters, the Volt will use a new, 1.5-liter gasoline engine and won't require premium fuel. It'll have more EV range and a bigger battery, too. We'll have a whole mess of information when the 2016 Volt is fully revealed in Detroit in about one week's time.
