I purchased the truck from my father in law in 05,It had a body restoration in the late 90's but is beginning to show wear. This is not a show truck but is in good condition for a 76 model. The body has rust showing in the passenger door, rocker and inner fender as well as the driver bed behind the wheel and on the front of the hood. The rest of the truck and the frame are in solid condition. I replaced the engine with a fuel injected 350 from a 90 model chevy truck with about 140,000 miles on it. I have only drove the truck 2 times since the motor replacement and it runs good. My plan was to get the 350 running and then pull it and build a 383 stroker so I have not spent a lot of time driving the truck with this motor. I have completely lost interest in the truck and want to sell to finish another project.

Thing that have been replace with the engine swap are new tbi wiring harness from speedway motors , new distributor ,coil ,plugs, wires, knock sensor, coolant temp sensor, iac valve,  thermostat, ceramic coated headers, O2 sensor, electric fuel pump, fuel lines, fuel filters, oil pressure switch, transmission cable. Things that still need done are the transmission cable still needs some adjustment, the throttle body was rebuilt but I think it could use two new injectors. I was going to have a new chip burnt for the ECM but was wanting to wait on the 383 swap. The truck does run and drive I just haven't  because of the big future plans.

Things that have been done since 2006

Dana 70 rear with 4:88 gears and a locker. New seals, brake shoes, wheel cylinders, brake lines.

GM 10 bolt front with new 4:88 gears, seals, bearings, hubs, rotors, calipers, brake pads, backing plates, ball joints, tie rod ends and lockout hubs.

Rebuilt GM th350 with new aluminum pan

Rebuilt 241c transfer case with Off Road Design SYE. New drive shaft in rear and rebuilt front.

Superlift 12" lift with braided brake lines, shocks, dual steering stabilizer, ORD rear shackle flip, ORD front shackles, poly bushing .

Has ORD weld on frame brace, the frame was not broke I had it installed with a new stering gear box and new rag joint.

18x39.5x15 Super Swamper Boggers with almost new tread

15x14 Eaton steel wheels from national tire and wheel.

Other things are a line lock on the front brakes that is currently not wired up, Proform tac, Pionner cd player, ECM and fusses for motor are located in the glove box. The bed is rhino lined. I also have two good doors off of another truck to go with it if you want them. Cab bushings have been replaced with poly bushings. The gas tank has also been replaced.

The bad is the dash has one crack in it, the stitching in the seat is starting to separate in the middle, the rust spots that was mentioned above and the paint is faded and getting in poor condition. The motor may also need some tunning and tweaking.

I have tried to list everything but I know I am forgetting a lot of stuff. So if you have any questions feel free to ask and I will try to get back asap. Do remember this truck is 37 years old and it does show it. If you are looking for a show truck or a perfect look somewere else. THIS TRUCK IS BEING SOLD WHERE IS AS IS WITH NOW WARRANTY. I will require a $500 non refundable deposit within 48 hours of end of auction and the remainder to be paid within 7 days of auction end. Please contact me about payment. Buyer is responsible  for pickup or shipping. I have a uncle in the auto transport business and may be able to ship depending on your location . I can get his contact info to you if you would like. Thanks for looking and please don't bid if you cant afford to buy.

The USPS needs 180,000 new delivery vehicles, automakers gearing up to bid

Wed, Feb 18 2015

Winning the New York City Taxi of Tomorrow tender was a huge prize for Nissan, even though the company is still working through the process of claiming its prize. The United States Postal Service has begun the process to take bids for a new delivery vehicle to replace the all-too-familiar Grumman Long Life Vehicle, and that will be a much larger plum for the automaker who wins it, perhaps worth more than six billion dollars. The Grumman LLV is an aluminum body covering a Chevrolet S-10 pickup chassis and General Motors' Iron Duke four-cylinder engine. The USPS bought them from 1987 to 1994, and the 163,000 of them still in service are a monumental drain on postal resources: they get roughly ten miles to the gallon instead of the quoted 16 mpg, drink up more than $530 million in fuel each year, and their constant repair needs like the balky sliding door and leaky windshields have led the service to increase the annual maintenance budget from $100 million to $500 million. A seat belt is about as modern as it gets for safety technology, and the USPS says that assuming things stay the same, it can't afford to run them beyond 2017. Last year it put out two triage requests for proposals seeking 10,000 new chassis and drivetrains for the Grumman and 10,000 new vehicles. The LLV is also too small for the modern mail system in which package delivery is growing and letter delivery is declining. The service says it doesn't have a fixed idea of the ideal "next-generation delivery vehicles," but it listed a number of requirements in its initial request and is open to any proposal. Carriers have some suggestions, though, saying they want better cupholders, sun visors that they can stuff letters behind, a driver's compartment free of slits that can swallow mail, and a backup camera. The request for information sent to automakers pegs the tender at 180,000 vehicles that would cost between $25,000 and $35,000 apiece, and it will hold a conference on February 18 to answer questions about the contract. GM is the only domestic maker to avow an interest, while Ford and Fiat-Chrysler have remained cagey. Yet with a possible $6.3 billion up for grabs and some new vans for sale that would be advertised on every block in the country, we have a feeling everyone will be listening closely come February 18. We also have a feeling the LeMons series is going to be flooded with Grummans come 2017. News Source: Wall Street Journal, Automotive News - sub.

GM opens military discount to 21M veterans and their spouses

Thu, Apr 7 2016

May marks the start of National Military Appreciation Month, and General Motors is getting into the spirit by expanding its military discount program to, well, just about everyone. That includes a total of 21 million military veterans and their spouses, along with the current slate of active duty, reserve, and National Guard members. The discount can slash thousands of dollars off the price of a new Buick, Chevrolet, or GMC vehicles, with Automotive News listing an $1,100 discount on the top gas-powered version of the Malibu, the Premiere. Those that want a bit more spice can get $1,700 off the price of a last-generation 2015 Camaro SS, while truck buyers will enjoy $3,000 off the Chevy Silverado All Star. That's just a start, though, since the military discount can be paired with other GM incentives. The discount doesn't apply to everything, though. Some are understandable – none of Cadillac's vehicles are included in the deal, nor is the Corvette Z06. You'll also be unable to apply the discount to a range of base-level trims, like the Chevy Cruze or Equinox L, the base Colorado, or the entry level GMC Acadia, Canyon, and Terrain. A full list is available at GM's dedicated military discount website. GM's expanded discount plan runs from today through May 31. Autoblog fan favorite car ads from Super Bowl XLIX

Mon, Feb 2 2015

Super Bowl XLIX is in the books, and the New England Patriots emerged victorious. Of course, if you're like us, the big game wasn't so much about the battle between the east coast and west, so much as a fight between the world's automotive advertisers. We collected and collated all of last night's new ads and put them together for you to vote on. And yes, we're limiting this year's contest to last night's new features. That's why you aren't seeing Dodge's epic Wisdom among our collection of commercials, and it's a similar story with Chevrolet's Truck Guy Focus Group series, which highlights the new Colorado. You can still vote for your favorites. We won't be closing the voting on our Super Bowl page, so while the winners and losers are correct as of this writing, it's entirely possible that there could be some changes in the rankings as time goes on. So, without any further ado, here are the winning ads based on your voting. Nissan: With Dad Fiat: Ready For Action Jeep: Beautiful Lands BMW: Newfangled Idea Mercedes-Benz: Fable NASCAR: America Start Your Engines As for those ads that failed to impact you, loyal readers, Toyota was the absolute, undisputed loser. The Japanese brand ran four ads in total – two for Toyota and two for Lexus – and all of them have negative tallies as of this writing. Lexus' Make Some Noise and Lets Play and Toyota's One Bold Choice and My Bold Dad both had very weak showings among the commercials that aired, although they weren't alone. Neither Mazda nor Kia scored particularly well, despite featuring celebrity magic act Penn and Teller and former James Bond, Pierce Brosnan, respectively. Chevrolet was the winner of the losers, as of our writing, recording the fewest downvotes for its audience-punking The Big Game ad. If you want to take a second look at the losing ads, you can head back to our Super Bowl page for the complete collection. But for now, head into Comments and let us know what you think of the results.
