I'm selling my Chevy C10 short wheel base to help fund a Corvette project I'm working on.  This truck is in really good condition for it's age, even compared to some of the late-model used trucks I've looked at recently, take a look at the pic.s.

  • Truck has only been driven 6,020 miles since 2008 - very seldom used (was purchased in August of 2008 with 101,767 miles)
  • Truck has SBC 350 w/Holley 4-barrel carb and a very mild cam upgrade - tranny is the standard TH350 (auto), there seems to be a very small leak on the tranny and I believe it's the yoke seal.  I have a spot about the size of a quarter in my driveway from where it sat for a while.
  • Original engine was replaced by previous owner, work performed locally at a very reputable family-owned garage.  Engine was replaced at 92,533 miles, so the new engine only has 15K miles on it.
  • Rims & Tires where upgraded at 104,422 - roughly 3K miles on new tires.  Original Rally wheels are available if buyer would like them to be included in the sale price.  American Racing rims are 7" up front and 8" in the rear
  • Gas tank was replaced about 3 years ago due to old age
  • Mufflers where replaced due to old age around the same time as tank (truck has true dual exhaust to mufflers, has nice deep sound but not too loud or obnoxious)
  • Brakes are nice and firm
  • Power steering is very smooth, no whining or shuttering when rotating the wheel
  • Interior is in really good condition; door panels look good, carpet looks good, no rot or rips, seat still looks good and sits good
  • Console still looks great, gauge cluster looks great and everything works (even the clock still works)
  • Radio was upgraded to a nice Pioneer CD/USB stereo with nice speakers behind seat (I think CD has a remote with it, should be in glove box)
  • Heater fan works, Defroster works, A/C doesn't blow cold
  • All of the glass is in good shape, nothing broken or chipped up - seals are all still tight
  • No rust around the back window (inside or outside)
  • No frame rust damage (see pics for underneath picture or bed and frame)
  • Chrome bumpers still look great
  • Exterior still looks pretty good - it's starting to show some clear peel on the hood and there is some rust starting to come through in a couple spots on the bottom of the doors and some small areas around the rockers - it's not riddled with holes or anything like that, just needs to be mentioned
  • Paint still looks pretty good overall - hasn't been buffed out in several years so there's a lot of gloss to be gained by someone that has the time

I'm open to reasonable offers, but please don't waste your time or mine sending me offers for 1/2 or 2/3 - the truck is for sale, not to be given away.  Obviously there are no warranties (expressed or implied, written or oral), truck is sold as-is.  I will not accept a return or provide any refund - no exceptions.  Buyer is responsible for any and all shipping expenses, I will help load onto transporter for free.  Truck comes with a free and clear title - title in-hand.

PAYMENT:
I require a small deposit of $300.00 to be paid via Paypal within 24 hours of purchase, no exceptions unless discussed and approved first.  Final payment is due within three (3) calendar days of purchase, no exceptions unless discussed and approved first.  If final payment is not made within three calendar days, then the deposit becomes my property and I retain the rights to re-list the truck or sell the truck at will.

By bidding, and/or making an offer, and/or purchasing this truck you are agreeing to the terms above.

2014 Chevrolet C7 Corvette wastes no time zooming into Jay Leno's Garage

Thu, 24 Jan 2013

Where else would you expect the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray to show up first? Although this time it isn't exactly in Jay Leno's Garage, Leno instead playing an away game at Brown's Classic Auto in Scottsdale, Arizona. Nor does Leno drive the car, instead taking an 11-minute walkaround of the new American sports car with General Motors design head Ed Welburn, the same man who recently brought by a string of classic Corvettes to the talk show host's California compound.
It is, admittedly, a love-fest for the American sports car now featuring 450 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, but one that also features admissions about previous Corvette seats like "they were kinda rough," and the explanation that labeling the coupe "Stingray" means not having to call it "the base Corvette." On top of that, Welburn also explains the proper application of the term "dashboard." You can watch it all in the video below.

GM executive chief EV engineer says reducing cost of plug-in vehicles is 'huge priority'

Mon, Mar 17 2014

As we know, another major automaker investing heavily in electrified vehicles is General Motors, and it's doing things much differently than rivals BMW, Ford or Nissan. The Chevrolet Volt extended-range EV is a modest seller at its $35,000 sticker price but a huge hit with owners. The Chevy Spark BEV, still in limited availability, puts smiley faces on its owners and drivers. The just-introduced Cadillac ELR, a sharp-looking, fun-driving $76,000 luxocoupe take on the Volt's EREV mechanicals, has admittedly low sales expectations. With this interesting trio in showrooms and much more in the works, the third vehicle electrification leader I collared for an interview at Detroit's North American International Auto Show (see #1 and #2) was Pam Fletcher, GM's executive chief engineer, Electrified Vehicles. ABG: Why do your EREVs need four-cylinder power to extend their range when BMW's i3 makes do with an optional 650 cc two-banger? "We designed [the Volt and the ELR] to go anywhere, any time" - Pam Fletcher PF: I get that question all the time: why not something smaller? You don't really need that much. You use the electric to its ability, then you just need to limp. But we designed those cars to go anywhere, any time, and we don't want their performance to be compromised. If you're driving through the mountains, we don't want you to be crawling up grades, or to be limited on any terrain. So it's optimized to be able to travel literally the biggest grades and mountain roads around the globe at posted speeds. Because what if you can't? Another good reason: when the engine is on, you have to run it wide open throttle, max speed, most of the time. And while we can do a lot with acoustics, and the ELR has active noise cancelation, a small-displacement, low cylinder-count engine at high speed, high load all the time isn't something you want to live with. That's how we came up with the balance we did among the key factors of performance, NVH [noise, vibration and harshness] and range. ABG: Where you go from here? Is the range-extender engine due for an update? PF: We know and love the current Volt, and there is still a lot of acclaim about it, so we think it's a good recipe. But we are heavily in the midst of engineering the next-generation car, which I think everyone will love and be excited about.

Weekly Recap: GM plans massive new paint shop at Chevy Corvette factory

Sat, May 23 2015

General Motors is laying out some serious green to maintain the Chevy Corvette's expansive color palette. The automaker is breaking ground on a new paint shop this summer that's part of a $439-million investment to upgrade the 34-year-old Bowling Green, KY, factory that builds the Stingray. The massive new structure will total 450,000 square feet, nearly half the size of the current 1-million square-foot facility. Construction is expected to take two years and won't impact Corvette production. The upgrades include new robots that save paint and create a better finish, longer, more efficient ovens to bake in the finish, and LED lighting. There's also a dry scrubbing booth technology with a limestone handling system that eliminates waste. GM has invested $135 million in the factory in last four years for the changeover to build the C7 and to relocate its Performance Build Center to Bowling Green. The improvements continue to modernize the Kentucky factory, which has become a tourist attraction in its own right, as more than 56,000 enthusiasts visited it last year. The upgrades are part of a $5.4-billion investment GM confirmed in April that will remake its US footprint in the next three years. The Bowling Green expansion underscores GM's continued commitment to the Corvette, which sold nearly 38,000 copies around the world last year, an eight-year high. "With this major technology investment, we can continue to exceed the expectations of sports car buyers for years to come," North American manufacturing manager Arvin Jones said in a statement. OTHER NEWS & NOTES Takata recall hits 34 million vehicles The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration expanded the Takata airbag recall to an almost unthinkable 34 million vehicles on Tuesday. The recall is part of an agreement reached by the two sides where Takata admitted some of its airbag inflators have a defect, and the deal compels the company to comply with all future regulatory actions and investigations. Takata's airbag inflators were produced with "a propellant that can degrade over time" and lead to ruptures, NHTSA said. Six deaths have been attributed to the flaw worldwide. Investigations conducted by Takata, automakers, and others have not determined the exact cause of the inflator problem, but NHTSA said moisture appears to alter the propellant's chemical structure. It then ignites too rapidly, creates too much pressure that ruptures the inflator, and blasts shards of metal at passengers.
