1972 Chevy C10 Deluxe: First offered in 1960, Chevrolet introduced a new body style to truck fans which was more light weight and featured an independent front suspension that gave it a car-like feel.
The "Glamour Pickups" are hands down the all time favorite with Chevrolet pickup collectors. First for their refined, handsome styling but also for their drivability, quality engineering and excellent power. It was in the Glamour
Pickup Era that Chevrolet pickups made the major transition from being merely utilitarian to high-styled "personalized" pickups.
After being purchased in Alabama in late 1971, this C10 spent almost its entire life in California. We purchased this truck from CA owner in 2014 and it currently is titled in TX. It is an unmolested, numbers matching, rust free truck that has never seen a day or snow or salty roads in its life. This exceptional C10 short bed fleetside was beautifully restored to factory specs in 2008 and looks as good, if not better, than it did in 1972. The interior is flawless with a perfect and uncut dash, a working original radio, new factory seat covers, door panels, and carpet. The factory original medium blue & white paint combo shows very nicely, the chrome and trim look as good as new, the bed is excellent and the undercarriage is clean and rust free. This C10 needs nothing and we wouldn't hesitate to jump in it and drive it anywhere. It starts easily, shifts smoothly, stops like it should, and does great at highway speeds. Features and options include; 307 V8 (2bbl), 3 Speed Transmission, Power Steering, Disc Brakes, Two-Tone Paint, Chrome Bumpers & Mirrors, Rubber Bed Mat, Rubber Floor Mat, Factory Radio, 15" Factory Wheels and thick BF Goodrich Radial T/A Tires! Documentation accompanying this truck includes; original Warranty Card & Booklet, Owners Manual, Emissions Manual, and the Registration & Title copies. As you will see from the video and photos below, this is an exceptional classic Chevy that can be purchased for only $24,988! With the ""Buy it Now"" option you can own this beautiful C10 now and receive FREE SHIPPING * to your driveway. Not only is shipping free but we will handle all of the shipping arrangements and provide complete cargo insurance while in transit. Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face. But Docherty is optimistic and says she has a plan for the brand. We recommend heading over to Ward's for a closer look at the full read.
GM to make most cars LTE hotspots for 2015
Mon, 25 Feb 2013General Motors isn't the first automaker to deliver in-car Internet access, but a proposed plan announced today could make the technology more widespread than any of its competitors have offered. By the 2015 model year, most Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac and GMC products in the US and Canada will offer 4G LTE mobile broadband access. Initially, GM will just be pairing with AT&T to deliver this service, but additional carriers will be revealed in the future.
Current in-car Wi-Fi hot spots are limited to 3G, but GM says that 4G LTE is 10 times faster than 3G service and will allow for full Internet access, including streaming video for entertainment as well as services like real-time traffic updates and navigation driving directions. There is also no need for a paired smartphone with this new system, which should make it easier to use, and GM and AT&T will also be working together to develop new apps for customers.
Buyers can expect to start seeing 4G LTE in their cars starting next year, and GM is already planning to expand the service to other global markets as well. All of the information from GM's announcement is posted in a press release below.
Recharge Wrap-up: EVs poll well in Portland, Tesla seeks office space
Tue, Aug 5 2014In a poll of drivers in Portland, more than 80 percent said they would be driving an EV in the next 10 years if they weren't already. The poll was small and not scientific, with just 218 votes cast, but it does reflect a slice of a certain population with changing attitudes toward electric mobility, and 80 percent is an impressive figure. Additionally, 43 percent of respondents planned to have an EV in the next five years, and only 18 percent said they prefer gasoline-powered vehicles. With EVs in many ways repeating the adoption process that hybrids went through a decade ago, the five- or ten-year timeframe for more widespread use seems only natural. His Chevrolet Volt has been ticketed for parking six times since he took office. Granted, those street-sweeping signs are tough to keep track of, but his car has been photographed blocking at a bus stop while grabbing a burrito (who hasn't sinned in the name of a delicious burrito?), and was even caught parked in a crosswalk. The tickets were all dismissed. Read more from the SF Gate. Tesla is looking for office space in Silicon Valley. As the electric car company continues to search for a place to build its $4- to $5-billion battery Gigafactory, it also needs some real estate to expand its operations near its Palo Alto home. Tesla has expanded from 3,000 to 6,000 California-based employees since the end of 2012, and plans to add 500 more by the end of the year. It is currently looking for 200,000 to 300,000 square feet of office space close to its Fremont factory, according to sources in the real estate industry.
