1975 Chevy shortbed, original paint and interior. Truck is an original "factory A/C and pwr brake delete" Hard to find! Engine is a 1991 chevy 454 big block with the "good" heads and steel crank. Holley double pumper carb. HiPro Cam. Summit Racing MSD high capacitance ignition. Headman headers with true dual exhaust and twin flowmasters. (sounds awesome!!) Turbo 400 automatic transmission. 12 bolt rear end. 20" "Diablo" wheels and tires. Tread about 40-50% Power steering. Sliding rear window. Locking gas cap. I bought this truck about 8-9 months ago with the intention of doing a total resto and hot rod. Reality is, i just dont have the time, so its gonna go to the highest bidder with "NO RESERVE" so they can play with it. Great truck! When i bought it, in the interest of safety and driveability, I immediately did a full brake job with NEW master cylinder, new wheel cylinders, new front rotors and pads and new rear shoes and flushed the lines. New idler arm and pitman arm. New Battery. New guage aftermarket gauge cluster. Flushed the Radiator. Oil and filter change, and made sure all the lights and systems worked as they should. (except radio) I have put about 3000 miles on it and i can tell you it is a blast to drive and is very dependable!! It always cranks right up, has great oil pressure (38psi when hot and idling) and runs very cool even on the hottest days!!
I bought the truck with the dented front right fender....previous guy bumped into a tree. I pulled the bumper and fender back into place but as you can see...it needs a new fender. a NEW fender can be had for around 160 bucks. has some rust on door sills and top of drivers door where you would rest your arm when window down. all very repairable. The bed and the rest of the truck is really really straight and in good condition!.
SUPER fun truck to drive and sounds so awesome!! ONLY a big block with a cam can give you that loping rumble!!
Ok.....PLEASE bid if ONLY you have the money....your wife knows about it.....you considered the travel and/or shipping cost to come get it.....etc..... This is not a game. Please dont waste both of our time by not following through with the purchase if you are the high bidder. It is being sold with NO RESERVE!!!! High bid wins it! Please ask plenty of questions and come see it in person if you can. Thanks and good luck!! Todd 337-298-5141

Junkyard Gem: 1988 Chevrolet Spectrum Sport Coupe
Wed, Aug 23 2023Before General Motors created the Geo brand for cars built or designed by its overseas partners, the Chevrolet Division put its badges on U.S.-market versions of the Toyota Corolla Sprinter, the Suzuki Cultus and the Isuzu Gemini. Those cars were known as the Nova, the Sprint and the Spectrum, and all became Geos starting with the 1989 model year. Today's Junkyard Gem is one of the last Chevy Spectrums ever sold, found in a Denver self-service yard a few months ago. Midway through 1988, the Chevrolet Spectrum abruptly became the Geo Spectrum and was assigned to the 1989 model year. This car was built in May 1988, making it one of the very last of the pre-Geo Spectrums. The Chevrolet/Geo Spectrum was available as a four-door sedan and as a three-door hatchback, from the 1985 through 1989 model years. For 1988 only, a Spectrum Sport Coupe package, featuring some trim upgrades and these rad decals, could be had on the hatchback. This car was essentially identical to its Isuzu-badged counterpart, the I-Mark. In 1988, the MSRP for the cheapest possible Chevy Spectrum hatchback (the stripped-down Spectrum Express) was $6,495, while its somewhat better-equipped I-Mark twin started at $7,439 (that's $17,128 and $19,617 in 2023 dollars). Meanwhile, the base Hyundai Excel hatchback listed at $5,295 and the Yugo GV cost a hilarious $4,199 ($13,963 and $10,941 in today's money). Power came from this 1.5-liter SOHC four-cylinder, rated at 70 horsepower. A turbocharged version with 110 horsepower was available as well. You could get an automatic transmission in the Spectrum, but this car has the base five-speed manual. This car didn't get the optional air conditioning, but at least it has the traditional Isuzu HVAC control icons featuring blow-dried hair and high-heeled dominatrix boots. Just over 170,000 miles on the odometer. Someone installed a pretty good (for the 1980s) Blaupunkt Charlotte CR148 cassette deck in the dash. This was a necessity if you wanted to enjoy full appreciation of the music of the era. The Spectrum is special! It's as slick as city rain. "I didn't spend a lot of money but with my Spectrum it looks like I did." Joe Isuzu mocked Toyota salesmen when pitching the I-Mark. As was nearly always the case during the 1980s, the JDM ads for the same car were much more fun. They should have recreated this commercial with Spectrums.
Stolen '57 Chevy Returned To Owner After 30 Years
Fri, Feb 21 2014Three decades after it was stolen, a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air has been returned to a Northern California man - in better shape than when he originally owned it. The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports Ian "Skip" Wilson was shocked to get a call from the California Highway Patrol informing him that his long-lost Chevy was taken off an Australia-bound cargo ship. The 65-year-old says the car has had a lot of work done on it since it disappeared from his Lake County home in 1984. It was returned with a monogrammed interior, 17-inch racing wheels, rack-and-pinion steering and a 350-horsepower V-8 engine. The retired mechanic says the two-door was in sorry shape when he bought it for $375 in 1975 with plans for fixing it up. Recharge Wrap-up: EVs poll well in Portland, Tesla seeks office space
Tue, Aug 5 2014In a poll of drivers in Portland, more than 80 percent said they would be driving an EV in the next 10 years if they weren't already. The poll was small and not scientific, with just 218 votes cast, but it does reflect a slice of a certain population with changing attitudes toward electric mobility, and 80 percent is an impressive figure. Additionally, 43 percent of respondents planned to have an EV in the next five years, and only 18 percent said they prefer gasoline-powered vehicles. With EVs in many ways repeating the adoption process that hybrids went through a decade ago, the five- or ten-year timeframe for more widespread use seems only natural. Read more at the Portland Business Journal. San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee parks like an idiot, or rather, his security detail does. His Chevrolet Volt has been ticketed for parking six times since he took office. Granted, those street-sweeping signs are tough to keep track of, but his car has been photographed blocking at a bus stop while grabbing a burrito (who hasn't sinned in the name of a delicious burrito?), and was even caught parked in a crosswalk. The tickets were all dismissed. Read more from the SF Gate. Tesla is looking for office space in Silicon Valley. As the electric car company continues to search for a place to build its $4- to $5-billion battery Gigafactory, it also needs some real estate to expand its operations near its Palo Alto home. Tesla has expanded from 3,000 to 6,000 California-based employees since the end of 2012, and plans to add 500 more by the end of the year. It is currently looking for 200,000 to 300,000 square feet of office space close to its Fremont factory, according to sources in the real estate industry.
