Springfield, Ohio, United States
Hello and Howdy, I have up for auction a 1984 Chevy Step Side 4x4. This truck was stored for about 18 years and the good condition shows! This is not a 100% rust free Arizona truck, but very very solid! Cab and bed corners good, floors very solid, doors and fenders very clean. Bed very solid and has original wood and trim! Truck has original front and rear bumpers, no after market bumpers! Truck has about 60,000 miles, but title shows 106. Engine rebuilt and has about 20,000. Its a built 355 with around 400 HP. Truck is lifted 4" with 35 tires on factory 15x10 factory Rally truck rims! Truck has 4" lift kit, duel steering dampners, with large front disc brakes and large rear drums! Heater works great and all lights work! Truck has power windows and locks, but has ground issue, that needs some TLC. Truck has never been wrecked or rolled!! Very very solid old truck! Please ask questions before bidding! I drive truck always and never lets me down. Truck need high CCAs battery! I have no battery to go with truck! I needs 750-900 CCa battery to turn over correct! High compression and high torq starter needs large CCA battery!! It has new flywheel and high torq starter! $250 dollar job that I have in that alone!! Truck needs a 4x4 cross member as it was ripped off! Has 2 wheel cross member now to be drivin! That works fine, but to put front drive shaft back in you will need the correct member! Please E-mail any questions, I know I'm leaving out something, so please ask!

GM Design shows what could have been and what might be
Thu, May 27 2021We periodically like to check in with GM Design's Instagram account to see what they're cooking up. Even better is when we catch a glimpse of an alternate history of what legendary designers from The General's past were thinking, though those ideas may not have made it into production. This week, for example, the account posted some illustrations from George Camp, whose career at GM spanned nearly four decades, from 1963 to 2001. One of the renderings is of what appears to be a 1971-72 Pontiac GTO Judge, but with two headlights instead of the production unit's quad beams. The rear departs from the canonical version most dramatically, with a massive integrated wing. Other bits that didn't make the production cut include large side vents, a gill-like side marker and rectangular intakes below the headlights that wouldn't be out of place on a modern design today. Amazingly, from what we can make out of the date, it appears that the drawing was done sometime in 1965, which makes it quite prescient.      View this post on Instagram            A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) There's also a very aerodynamic interpretation of a Corvette ZR-1. To our eyes it splits the difference between the 1986 Corvette Indy concept and a fourth-generation F-body Pontiac Firebird, so perhaps parts of Camp's work on this sketch did make it into physical form. There's also a radical sports car concept from May 1970 that resembles the Mazda RX-500 concept from the same year, a Syd Mead-looking Cadillac coupe, and an Oldsmobile with a cool take on the company's trademark waterfall grille and elements of the Colonnade Cutlass at the rear. Other recent posts include a FJ Cruiser-like off-road EV, a sleek coupe with the Chevy corporate grille, and a rendering of a Silverado-esque pickup that looks far better than the current production version.      View this post on Instagram            A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) It's pretty easy to lose hours in the account, but it's always fascinating to see GM's visions of what could have been and what might be. GM issues stop-sale for 3 SUVs over incorrect MPG rating
Fri, May 13 2016This week, GM sent a memo to Chevy, GMC, and Buick dealers to tell them to stop selling three SUVS. The 2016 Chevy Traverse, the GMC Acadia, and the Buick Enclave all have EPA window stickers that show higher fuel economy ratings than the vehicles actually have. Unlike other recent – and very public – fuel economy ratings problems from VW and Mitsubishi, it doesn't seem like GM did anything wrong with the testing for these vehicles, it just misprinted the labels. New labels are being printed and should arrive at dealerships this weekend and early next week. After that, the SUVs will be able to be sold and delivered again. The official fuel economy rating for the three SUVs are all the same. The correct numbers for the all-wheel drive versions are 17 miles per gallon combined, 15 city, and 22 highway. The stickers say the SUVs get 17/24/19. The front-wheel driver models were also incorrectly labeled, and the total number of affected vehicles is 59,823. In the memo, GM said the problem was caused by an "inadvertent error," Automotive News says. GM is working with the EPA to solve the issue. We have asked GM for a comment on the mistake and will update this post if we hear back. Related Gallery 2013 GMC Acadia View 16 Photos News Source: Automotive News – sub. req.
