74 Chevy C10 Pickup Truck Original Low Miles 350 V8 Sbc Factory A/c Long Bed on 2040-cars
Louisville, Kentucky, United States
"Holy Moly" is a 1974 Chevrolet Custom Deluxe C10 with 54,109 original miles, 350 V8 engine, automatic transmission, factory air conditioning, and a immaculate factory interior. The most impressive feature on this truck is the interior. It is all original and looks like it did when the truck was new. The carpet is clean, the seat is not worn and the wood-grain trim around the instruments is perfect. A rare and unique feature on the truck is the factory air conditioning. All of the air conditioning system is intact, but the system would need to be serviced to ensure it blows cold. All of the gauges work and the factory AM/FM radio works well. Please see the pictures in the listing below to get full appreciation for how nice the inside of this truck is. The drivetrain consists of a carbureted 350 cubic inch Chevrolet Small Block and automatic transmission. The engine starts and runs well. It has a very small exhaust leak that goes away once the exhaust system warms up. The engine will slightly smoke when you first start it (if the truck has been sitting overnight) - I am sure this can be corrected by replacing the valve seals. The truck DOES NOT smoke at all when you drive it. This is a minor issue, but want to mention it in the interest of full disclosure. Under the hood is very clean and sanitary. Like the rest of the truck, everything is all original - the factory jack is still in place above the passenger side inner fender. The original, factory hub caps are on the wheels and the tires are in good condition. The exterior is mostly all original. The green paint is all original and in good condition. The white center insert appears to have been repainted at some time. Overall the paint looks very good, but the white portion does have a few bad spots and could stand to be repainted (see photos below). There are only a few small spots of rust on the truck. The largest rust area is behind the rear wheel on the driver's side. It is the only rust spot that would require professional attention to fix. The are small rust spots around each rear wheel opening. I have shown all of these in the photos below. These are the only rust spots on the truck. The inside of the bed is in nice condition and is not dented. The grill is very nice and is not broken. Overall this is a very nice truck and rare to find an original truck in such good condition. 800k car names trademarked globally, suddenly alphanumerics seem reasonable
Tue, 01 Oct 2013What's in a name? This cliched phrase probably gets tossed out at every marketing meeting that happens when a new car gets its nomenclature. We know the answer, though: everything. The name of a car has all the potential to make or break it with fickle customers that are more conscious than ever about what their purchases say about them.
That's giving headaches to marketing folks across the automotive industry. "It's tough. In 1985 there were about 75,000 names trademarked in the automotive space. Today there are 800,000," Chevrolet's head of marketing, Russ Clark, told Automotive News. Infiniti's president, Johan de Nysschen, echoed Clark's sentiment, saying, "The truth of the matter is, across the world, there is hardly a name or a letter that hasn't already been claimed by one car manufacturer or another. You can go through the alphabet - A, B, C and so forth - and you will quickly see that almost all available letters are taken."
What has that left automakers to do? Get creative. In the case of Infiniti, it made the controversial move to bring all of its cars' names into a new scheme, classifying them as Q#0 for cars and QX#0 for SUVs and crossovers. So the Infiniti G, which was available as the G25 and G37, is now the Q50. The FX37 and FX50 are now the QX70.
