1986 SWB Chevy Silverado 1500

I challenge you to find a nicer truck from this era that is not a “show” truck.  You will NOT be disappointed in this one.  This truck is very, very, very nice.  Everything is truly in like new condition.

EVERYTHING on this truck is functional and works.

73,770 original miles.  Restoration done about 2,500 miles ago including engine and transmission.

5.7 liter 350 ci V8.  TH700R automatic transmission with shift kit. Runs and drives great.

K & N air filter, Holley carb, Edelbrock intake manifold, MSD ignition, and Thorley headers.  Engine was calibrated in June 2013.

Front brakes are oversized Wilwood 6 piston disc and rears are drums.

Tires:  Falken STZ05 275/55R20 & 305/50R20 with only 700 miles on them.

Boss 338 powder coated matte black 20 x 8.5 and 20 x 10 rims new in September 2013.

It has been slightly lowered front (2 1/2 inch spindles) and rear (2 inch hangars/shackles) and new shocks were put on when restoration was done.  It rides really nice and ride height looks awesome.

Paint was redone with restoration and is in EXCELLENT condition.  No scratches, chips or flaws I can see.  Very quality paint job.

All chrome and trim is in excellent like new condition.

Interior is flawless.  Absolutely no tears, rips or stains to seats or carpet.

PS, PB, PW, PDL, clock, cruise, tilt, A/C (blows cold), cup holder, rear slider, tinted windows, dual tanks, front bumper guards, spray in bed liner, new JVC KDAHDF65 CD player with remote and iPod/iPhone controls, new in dash speakers, new 6 x 9 FOCAL rear corner speakers, new 12 inch Kicker CVT124 sub, new Alpine MRXV70 amp and new VIPER 3305v alarm.

I completed the restoration with new sliding rear window, dash bezel trim, power window switches, passenger power lock popper, interior dome light, volt gauge, left and right door links, starter, hazard flasher, turn signal lever, tires and rims.  (I have receipts for this work)

I will include a car cover as well.

I will do my best to answer any questions.  I did not do the major restoration on the truck (thus do not have receipts for work I did not do) and am not a real gear head.  So I cannot answer too many detailed mechanical questions.

I have a clean title in hand.

I am happy to arrange a pick-up with any shipping company a buyer chooses.

Recharge Wrap-up: EVs poll well in Portland, Tesla seeks office space

Tue, Aug 5 2014

In a poll of drivers in Portland, more than 80 percent said they would be driving an EV in the next 10 years if they weren't already. The poll was small and not scientific, with just 218 votes cast, but it does reflect a slice of a certain population with changing attitudes toward electric mobility, and 80 percent is an impressive figure. Additionally, 43 percent of respondents planned to have an EV in the next five years, and only 18 percent said they prefer gasoline-powered vehicles. With EVs in many ways repeating the adoption process that hybrids went through a decade ago, the five- or ten-year timeframe for more widespread use seems only natural. Read more at the Portland Business Journal. San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee parks like an idiot, or rather, his security detail does. His Chevrolet Volt has been ticketed for parking six times since he took office. Granted, those street-sweeping signs are tough to keep track of, but his car has been photographed blocking at a bus stop while grabbing a burrito (who hasn't sinned in the name of a delicious burrito?), and was even caught parked in a crosswalk. The tickets were all dismissed. Read more from the SF Gate. Tesla is looking for office space in Silicon Valley. As the electric car company continues to search for a place to build its $4- to $5-billion battery Gigafactory, it also needs some real estate to expand its operations near its Palo Alto home. Tesla has expanded from 3,000 to 6,000 California-based employees since the end of 2012, and plans to add 500 more by the end of the year. It is currently looking for 200,000 to 300,000 square feet of office space close to its Fremont factory, according to sources in the real estate industry. General Motors shaking up its marketing... again

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

One of the things that dogs the full comeback of General Motors is the instability of its marketing. That part of the automaker got yet another big shakeup today when GM confirmed what I have been tweeting for a few days - strong rumors that the Chevrolet and Cadillac ad accounts are walking to new ad agencies.
Cadillac, GM's luxury brand, is going into review from Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis and the indications are that Campbell-Ewald, Chevy's old ad shop, will end up with most or all of it. C-E just announced that it was moving from its long-time home in Warren, MI to a new downtown Detroit office next to Ford Field, just blocks from GM.
The other shoe to drop shortly will be the shift of GM's most important brand, Chevy, from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco to McCann-Erickson of Troy, MI. McCann used to be the agency for Buick and GMC, as well as GM's corporate advertising, and has retained some pieces of business over the last few years. Sources have even told us that it was McCann that did a lot of the creative work on Chevy's new ad platform, Find New Roads. (Not to be confused with a former McCann tagline for Saab, "Find Your Own Road.")

Consumer Reports declares most and least loved cars [w/video]

Wed, Dec 3 2014

Consumer Reports is crunching the numbers from its annual owner-satisfaction survey, and part of that process is finding out how attached drivers are to their cars. CR simply asks readers of models up to three years old if they would buy the same vehicle again in light of their entire ownership experience, and tallies the results. After looking at the responses for about 350,000 vehicles, it turns out that people really love a certain California-built, electrically powered luxury sedan. That's right, this year's the overall winner was the Tesla Model S with a whopping 98 percent of owners saying they would purchase another one (the Model S also won this award last year, with 99 percent satisfaction). The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray came in a close second with 95 percent of drivers hoping to park another one in their garage. A few models weren't quite so favored, though. The Nissan Versa Sedan was the least loved model among its owners; a mere 42 percent said that they would purchase another. The aging Jeep Compass didn't do much better, with just 43 percent of drivers willing to buy the softroader again. On average, about 70 percent of owners say they would buy their car again, and only four cars ranked below 50 percent in CR's findings. Check out the video above to see some of the winners and losers in a few of CR's categories. If you're a subscriber, you can check out the full list on its website.
