Up for auction is an incredibly rare 1986 Chevrolet Silverado C10 Fleetside Short Box Pickup Truck in wonderful condition. This modern classic looks so vintage but yet offers great utility as well. Completely loaded from the factory this truck comes equipped under the hood with her Chevrolet V8 5.0L Motor, 4-Speed Automatic Transmission With OD, Locking 3.08 Rear End, Dual Exhaust, Rally Wheels, Heavy Duty Power Brakes, Power Steering, Dual Fuel Tanks, Tilt Wheel, Cruise Control, Power Windows, Power Locks, Sliding Rear Glass, AM/FM Cassette and much more. This truck has been more than cared for over the years and has survived intact with her original factory two tone Indian Bronze with Saddle Tan deluxe paint that looks very nice. Mechanically she runs out great and is very strong. She is a daily driver and was used as a light ranch truck here in Arizona. Her body is very dry and her bed for being a work truck by definition is superb. Many new items under the hood including suspension parts below the vehicle make her ride and handle extremely well. She has a heavy duty deluxe chrome rear bumper that can tow anything and her rear Flowmaster duals were ported out the sides and they look and sound terrific. Her interior cab is well appointed and looks impressive. Like new comfortable bench seat that feels great. Deluxe map pockets plus original headliner and sun visors with rear parcel shelf behind the bench you never see anymore. Original glove box that looks brand new. Working factory correct rally gauges and a GT deluxe steering wheel that is very nice plus full shoulder seat belts really make this classic truck super desirable. She is not a show truck and has her usual scratches, wear spots, and a door ding or two. Low reserve so call with any questions and this classic Lee Majors Fall Guy styled pickup should disappear.

Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th
Tue, 15 Apr 2014It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.
Even if GM does close all 5 of those plants, it'll still have too many
Wed, Nov 28 2018DETROIT — General Motors' monumental announcement on Monday that it will close three car assembly plants and two powertrain plants in North America and slash its workforce will only partially close the gap between capacity and demand for the automaker's sedans, according to a Reuters analysis of industry production and capacity data. Sales of traditional passenger cars in North America have been declining for the past six years and are still withering. After GM ends production next year at factories in Michigan, Ohio and Ontario, it will still have four U.S. passenger-car plants — all operating at less than 50 percent of rated capacity, according to figures supplied by LMC Automotive. In comparison, Detroit-based rivals Ford and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will have one car plant each in North America after 2019. The Detroit Three are facing rapidly dwindling demand for traditional passenger cars from U.S. consumers, many of whom have shifted to crossovers and trucks. Passenger cars accounted for 48 percent of retail light-vehicle sales in the United States in 2014, according to market researchers at J.D. Power and Associates. This year, sedans will account for less than a third of light vehicle sales. That shift in turn has left most North American car plants operating far below their rated capacities, while many SUV and truck plants are running on overtime. The collapse in passenger-car demand is a challenge for nearly all automakers in the United States, including Japan's Toyota and Honda, which have the top-selling models in the compact and midsize car segments. Toyota executives said last month they are evaluating the company's U.S. model lineup. But Toyota also plans to build compact Corolla sedans at a new $1.6 billion factory it is building in Alabama with partner Mazda. The obstacles facing GM in its plans to close more auto factories became apparent on Tuesday as U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to block payment of government electric vehicle subsidies to GM. While it is not certain that Trump unilaterally has the power to do that, he made it clear he intends to use his office to pressure the company to keep open a small car plant in Ohio that GM says will stop building vehicles in March.
GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories
Wed, 06 Feb 2013As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.
