I have up for sale my 1986 Chevrolet c10 Silverado. It is in excellent shape and has always been taking care of. It is white in color and is very strait and shines real nice. It has a new grill and trim. Bumpers and strait and dent free. It has a nice removable bedliner installed along with some nice bedrails. The truck has an aftermarket set of wheels with Chevrolet logo spinner caps. It has very nice tires, 235/70/15 front and 275/60/15 rears. The have a lot of tread remaining. I'd rate the exterior at least an 8/10 at minimum.

Moving onto the interior, we have a nice original maroon seat, carpet, dash, door panels, etc.... Every piece of the interior is original and in near mint condition. The dash has no cracks and all the other pieces look next to new. Electric windows. It's very quite while driving and the doors open and close just like they came from the factory. It does have an aftermarket cd player which sounds real nice. All the gauges are nice and work except the battery gauge. It needs to be hooked back up. Even the clock works!!!! It does have a/c heat, but a/c needs charged.

The truck is powered by a 305/th350. It is all original except for a 1406 Edelbrock carburetor that I just recently installed. I bought the carburetor new and has maybe 200 miles on it. The rear gears are 273 and the truck is not very powerful at take off but is great for cruising on the highway or interstate. It does get great mpg to be a v8 in my opinion. ALL the brakes were previously done and all new bushings and steering components. The truck handles and brakes like you would not believe.

So what makes this truck so unique? Well overall I would rate the truck at least an 8/10. It's hard to find a truck like this n the condition this on is in. It's rare to see one where the clock works or the original dash isn't cracked. It even has the original jack in place along with the original spare. It does have dual gas tanks. Pictures do NOT do justice. I purchased this truck through an older man who purchased it through another older man. Comes with original service manual and maintenance records. If you need to contact me the please call or text 256 595 1822!! I can send more pictures and answer any questions. The auction is No RESERVE but I have the magic number in my head that I'm willing to let it go for. Thanks again for looking!!!!

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.

Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction

Sun, 17 Feb 2013

It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.
