I am pleased to offer this 1980 Chevrolet C-10 Pick up truck.
It has been in my family for years (approx. 21 years) , now illness forces me to sell this beauty.
This long bed pick up has been meticulously maintained and is presently 85% done.
Originally a 305, A new GM crate 350ci 330hp with 9.5 compression,  motor was installed in 2003 at GM and presently has only 10,000 miles on it.
Driven just enough to be broken in correctly. The replacement value in 2003 was $3,165.00.
This truck is 33 years old and was made in the Canada factory.
Features are 5 newer Dayton 265-75-R15 tires, power brakes, power steering and am/fm radio, ice cold AC, tilt wheel,Velour bench seat. New items are windshield, windows, Mirrors, visors, repaired door panels, gaskets, rubbers, fenders, hood, inner fenders
and new seals on the cab and window and doors, dual cover speakers in front, headliner, belts, hoses, plugs, battery, oil and air filters, U joints, brakes, black & silver wheel well trim, rebuilt bearings and seals in rear. I have spray coated rustoleum in the bed and it does not have any issues I know if.
This also has 2 barrel carb matched to the motor and has a single exhaust to save gas. The body is straight as an arrow, and as you might have guessed by now I have gone through this truck with a fine tooth comb and corrected all of the things listed. As far as being honest and forthcoming I will now list the things that still need attention, but are not necessary. It could use a new paint job... again not necessary. I did just find a heater core leak, I have disconnected it for now. No heat needed in FLA 95% of the time, but heater cores are cheap for this vehicle and I will include one if you are not from Florida.

GM recalls 8,500 Chevrolet Malibu models for rear suspension glitch

Mon, 04 Feb 2013

According to a letter from General Motors to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, flaws in the build process of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu have led to the recall of 8,519 cars. Units built between December 6, 2011 and January 15, 2013 may have been assembled with rear suspension cradles that had insufficient torque applied to certain bolts. That out-of-spec assembly could lead to issues ranging from slight noises to a loss of vehicle control.
The problem was first noticed in December of last year by a GM test fleet driver and eventually tracked back to the improperly torqued bolts on the suspension cradle assembled through July 2012 by a supplier located not too far from the Malibu's Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Since an official NHTSA recall notice has not been issued yet, it isn't clear whether or not Detroit-built Malibus were the only ones affected (the 2013 Malibu is also built at GM's Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kansas). Dealers will fix the problem by inspecting vehicles for proper torque specs, retightening if not within specs and, in some cases, perform a rear-wheel alignment.

Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.

New Chevrolet Silverado to be revealed on Facebook on Thursday

Tue, 11 Dec 2012

There's not much to see here, but if you're one of those waiting for the reveal of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, above is the teaser image that Chevrolet posted on its Facebook page. We've seen the truck in form-fitting camo before, and even less can be made out here beyond those seriously punchy Silverado-esque fenders and the knowledge that the projector-beam headlamps teased previously do indeed work. We'll have to wait until Thursday for a full perusal of the "bold exterior design" and "careful attention given to every detail" we've been promised.
Gathering intel and rumors, magnesium and aluminum contribute to the Silverado's weight loss plan, the purported "High Country" top-tier trim will contribute to luxury pickup truck competition and profit margins and the next-generation small-block V8 will contribute to improved fuel economy. On the engine note, there have been rumors of available V6 engines, and when Facebook user John Jones asked "Where's your answer to that EcoBoost Chevy?", the Bowtie replied "stay tuned on the 13th. We think you'll be pleased...".
Along with the "Raise the Bar" tag, Chevrolet says of the Silverado, "You asked, we delivered." You can watch the reveal live on Chevrolet's Facebook page at 9:30 am EST, this Thursday, December 13. The GMC Sierra 1500 will also be there, and we'll see both in person at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
