1977 Chevy C-10 Swb Original Big Block 454 In Great Shape on 2040-cars
Opelousas, Louisiana, United States
1977 Chevy C-10 with original big block 454 , turbo hydra-matic transmission , american racing wheels , new cross drilled slotted rotors on the front with new calipers and pads , new stainless steel braided brake lines in the front and back , drum brakes on the rear , edelbrock carburetor , thorley headers , flowmaster mufflers , K&N air cleaner , push button start , tilt steering , new steering gear box , windows were originally power windows but have been converted to manual , still have the switches but not sure what it would take to convert it back to power windows the door panels are still the original panels so the switches would fit right in place , A/C does not work it has all the controls but it does not have the compressor or the bracket for the compressor under the hood , it was like this when i bought the truck . The truck is in great running condition and would make a great project truck for someone . The interior of the truck is in good shape also , it has a full bench seat with no tears blue in color , the carpet is in decent shape with a couple of spots that are wore out but not unsightly the dash is in good shape with only one small area that is cracking , still has original radio but the antenna is not correctly hooked up and does not get a good signal , speakers could use replacing also . The body of the truck is straight and in great condition , the clear coat is peeling in multiple locations and the there is one spot near the back of the bed near the tail light that the paint is chipped but it is not to the metal just the primer. Overall this would be a great truck for an enthusiast , collector , or anyone just looking for a good old truck. I will not be taking care of the shipping so anyone interested in buying the truck will have to schedule shipping themselves or schedule a date to pick it up . I will work with you the best I can as for being here for a desired date and time for you or a shipping company that you hire to pick up the truck . http://youtu.be/rFpvmxc8RdI copy and paste link to watch video.

Bob Lutz says Tesla remains 'fringe' brand
Sun, Sep 28 2014We've said it before, we'll said it again: Bob Lutz gives great quotes. From his toilet-themed opinion of global warming to Toyota's deity status, the man knows how to get your attention. His latest? Saying that Tesla Motors is and will remain a fringe brand. Take that, Tesla fanbois. This, of course, is the same fringe company that prompted Lutz and his former colleagues at General Motors to start working on the Chevy Volt around eight years ago. The same fringe company that has easily outsold the similarly priced (but don't call it a competitor) Cadillac ELR with its Model S. Lutz did clarify that the fringe status will only last until Tesla comes out with a mass-market electric vehicle that has a range of 200 to 300 miles. Lutz was on CNBC talking about the TSLA stock's recent performance, and he pointed out that even Tesla CEO Elon Musk says that the California automaker's stock is overvalued these days. Despite its prevalence around these parts, Tesla is not yet a household brand. But the company is working hard to get a cheaper, long-range EV to market in the not-too-distant future, so this fringe thing may not last much longer than that show Fringe did. The U-2 spy plane needs high-performance cars to help land
Thu, Oct 15 2015Typically, aircraft deploy their landing gear from three main points. Most military aircraft, for example, deploy two gears at the back and one forward, like a tricycle. Some civilian aircraft flip the layout, with two in front and one in back - tail-draggers. The U-2 Dragon Lady is wildly different than any of these. With a 103-foot wingspan but a body that's just 63-feet long, the layout of the U-2 makes a traditional landing setup infeasible. Instead, the U-2 utilizes a pair of wheels, one up front and one in back. With such a bizarre layout, landings are so tough that since the U-2's earliest flights at Area 51, the US Air Force has used high-performance chase cars to guide the pilot down safely. The landing process isn't over there, though. As this video from Sploid shows, balancing out the aircraft to fit the detachable "pogos" – think training wheels for spy planes – is a comical procedure requiring a number of airman using their full body weight to even out the U-2. This video also recaps some of the great vehicles that have served as chase vehicles for this legendary spy plane. They include Chevrolet El Caminos, and the Fox-body Ford Mustangs so favored by the California Highway Patrol. For the last several years, the USAF has utilized products from General Motors, using fourth-generation Chevy Camaros, before switching over to the Pontiac GTO and most recently, the awesome Pontiac G8. It's fair to say that if you're a gearhead in the Air Force, this is the job you want. Check out the video, embedded up top.
