1973 Chevy Short-bed Fleet Side Only 12031 Original Miles When I Bought It. on 2040-cars
Salisbury, North Carolina, United States
This truck was bought new locally and used as a farm truck. It only has 13037 miles on it.That's the real actual mileage. It still has the original build sheet attached to the inner fender on the driver side under the hood.It was ordered with Heavy Duty suspension all around, that's why it sits up high. It's a two wheel drive. The drive line is a 6 cylinder 250 ci one barrel carb. She cranks up and runs good.No smoke-no noises. Transmission is a Heavy Duty fully synchronised 3 speed-column shift that operates like new. The rear is a Heavy Duty 12 bolt either posi track or limited slip.It spins both back tires in gravel..The chassis is excellent, only surface dirt,no rust. The cab has rust in the following-rockers inner and outer- floors- bottom of the doors-bottom of the fenders-over all four tires-the front of the bed.The steering column is in need of bushings etc.,The old truck fires right up and runs and drives good. In fact I had a tag on it for a while. Only drove it local. It came with manual disc brakes-wind shield washer-radio antenna in the windshield-manual steering-dual wide load mirrors. Somebody changed the steering wheel ,and I don't have the original. I bought it to build a Hot Rod but decided to leave it alone after realizing the miles are original. I painted all the rusty places with black paint,so you can see where the rust is.Look at the pics carefully. The radio is also missing.Except for the steering wheel and radio,it is factory stock, even the rims are original. It would make a sharp truck restored back to showroom condition,no doubt about that.Serious bidders only please.Paypal account required.Buyer is responsible for all shipping cost. I will help load it on a transport.$500 deposit, non refundable, within 24 hours of auction close. The remainder to be paid before or during pick up of vehicle.Any checks must clear the bank before release of the title or the vehicle. I have a clear title in hand. You can drive it away if you like. Thanks for looking. You can call for more info-704-433-7330.
On Nov-26-13 at 10:30:40 PST, seller added the following information: It is advertised locally,so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.Thanks. |

Chevy shows much-improved 2014 Corvette interior in new video
Mon, 11 Feb 2013If you want a closer look at what went into designing and building the interior for the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, we've got just the thing. General Motors has released a new video detailing the cabin's evolution from conception to execution, complete with commentary from Ryan Vaughn, performance car interior design manager with Chevrolet. The quick clip details how manufacturing, engineering and design within General Motors worked together from the first sketches to ensure no compromises had to be made later down the line. How novel.
With plenty of hides traced with contrast stitching and available real carbon fiber trim, the cabin looks to be a few hundred miles ahead of the C6. Given how readily critics derided the previous generation for its cabin, the C7 should make writers work a little harder to find something to complain about. Check out the video below for yourself.
Who sold the most heavy-duty pickups in 2012? PickupTrucks.com investigates
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Domestic manufacturers enjoyed a good year for heavy-duty pickup sales in 2012. PickupTrucks.com has taken a close look at exactly how those sales broke down between each manufacturer and between three-quarter and one-ton pickups. Ford sold some 67,786 F-250 Super Duty models last year with the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD falling just behind at 56,359 units. The Ram 2500 HD came in third at 41,918, while the GMC Sierra 2500 HD earned itself fourth place with 27,616 deliveries. While Ford held onto the top spot in the one-ton market, Ram easily nailed down second place by selling more 3500 HD models last year than General Motors sold Silverado 3500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD trucks combined.
So, did GM manage to sell more trucks than Ford with its two brands? Very nearly. Ford sold a total of 119,338 heavy-duty pickups to GM's 111,555. Ram, meanwhile, moved a distant 77,583. But perhaps more interesting is the diesel take rate in this segment. PickupTrucks.com says 80 percent of all domestic one-ton trucks roll from the dealer lot with a turbo-diesel under the hood. Head over to the site for a closer look at the breakdown.
Chevy Bolt wins 2017 Green Car of the Year
Thu, Nov 17 2016We knew that a plug-in vehicle was going to win the 2017 Green Car of the Year award this year, given that all five finalists have a way to charge up. And when Ron Cogan, the editor and publisher of Green Car Journal, announced the winner – the 2017 Chevy Bolt EV – he said that the car itself represents one of those times in the auto industry when everything is about to change. Similar to the invention of the starter motor, things are about to get different. For now, though, the fact that the Bolt EV won an award sounds like the same old thing all over again. Just this week, it was named Motor Trends Car of the Year and to the Car And Driver Top 10 list. The other four finalists for Green Car of the Year included the Toyota Prius Prime, the Chrysler Pacifica, the Kia Optima (including hybrid and plug-in hybrid models) and the BMW 330e iPerformance. Last year, the winner was the 2016 Chevy Volt. Did Green Car Journal make the right selection this year? See the award ceremony below.
