1972 Chevrolet C-10 Stepside on 2040-cars
Hollywood, Florida, United States
Beautiful 1972 Chevrolet C-10 Stepside. Up for bid is my '72 Chevy C-10. I bought this truck in Tennessee about two years ago and brought it down here to Big D's Muscle Cars in Sunrise, FL after my mechanic left the truck running perfectly. They removed all the rust and painted the truck Midnight Blue Metallic, by PPG. The interior was also redone: The floor was covered with Dynamat; New carpet, new door panels were installed and the seat was reupholstered with black vinyl. There's a new radio with 2 6x9 speakers, which sit behind the bench seat. The bed was redone with Pine and the strips are also a year old. The wood needs to be refinished now. There's a few dings and scratches here and there and there's a few minor surface rust spots, but overall, the truck is in great shape. There's also a spot of bondo which lifted right above the driver's door. The windshield was replaced, as were the vent windows, weatherstrips and door seals. All the lights works as do most of the gauges (Aftermarket temp gauge is under the dash) I also added a relay switch to the wipers so they run intermittent as well. The gas tank is mounted under the bed. Under the hood sits a crate 350 CC small block V-8, with .40 over, which makes it a 356. This engine has approx. 30,000 miles since it was put in. There's a Holley 4 barrel carburetor, Edelbrock maniforld and a pretty aggressive cam which makes the truck sound pretty damn good. The transmission is a TH-350 automatic and 410 gears. The truck was lowered using lowering spindles; it has power disk brakes on the front and drums in the back; power steering and aftermarket A/C that blows ice cold, especially with this Florida heat. It also has dual MagnaFlow exhausts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LbW1o-r2v4 I added as many pictures as I could and I also added the video so you can hear the engine. I'm also listing the truck locally, so I reserve the right to end the listing early. I've tried to be as thorough as I could with the description, but if you have any questions, feel free to contact me thru eBay, or at (305) 338-2644. Ask for Carlos. Serious Inquiries only. If you're purchasing the truck out of state and need it to be shipped, Uship will usually deliver the truck for under 400 bucks. Happy Bidding! |

Texas sues GM, saying it tricked customers into sharing driving data sold to insurers
Wed, Aug 14 2024Texas filed a lawsuit Tuesday against GM over years of alleged abuse of customers' data and trust. New car owners were presented with a "confusing and highly misleading" process that was implied to be for their safety, but "was no more than a deceptively designed sales flow" that surrendered their data for GM to sell. The suit contends that at no point was selling driving data ever even suggested as a possibility, putting GM in violation of the state's consumer protection laws. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is seeking a jury trial and at least $10,000 per offense (every GM car sold in the state since 2015) and a hefty add-on of $250,000 in cases where the victim was over 65. Texas seems to be flying high after a recent $1.4 billion settlement from Meta over other privacy concerns. This may well be a way to solve any pending budgetary issues in the Lone Star State.
Hot air balloons caught in high winds drag fullsize SUV
Mon, Jul 20 2015A sudden storm front whipped up enough wind to send some hot air balloons flying into the air in Wisconsin over the weekend. One ballon proved so energetic that it was able to drag a fullsize SUV across a field and into a stand of tents. The freak accident occurred at Balloonfest in Waterford, Wisconsin. Spectators were horrified as balloons dragged handlers to the ground and launched with terrified pilots clinging to their baskets. Organizers had started packing up the colorful balloons due to ominous storm clouds when the wind kicked up. "Happened just like that; it was crazy," Nathan Fricke, crew member, told Fox 6. Winds were clocked at 40 to 50 miles per hour. A balloon caught in the wind dragged a large SUV (we think a Suburban or Yukon XL) hundreds of feet and into a cluster of tents on the edge of the staging area where balloons were on display for festival goers. Considering that the SUV surely weighs well over 5,000 pounds, it's lucky that no one was injured in the incident. News Source: Fox6Now Weird Car News Chevrolet GM GMC SUV
Diesel Power finds the ultimate modified oil-burner
Sat, 24 Aug 2013For nine years, Diesel Power magazine has run the Diesel Power Challenge, this year's grindfest being "a week-long torture test that features seven events, nine trucks, 8,000 horsepower, and nearly 15,000 pound-feet of torque." The road to being crowned "the most powerful truck" starts with a dyno run, and then continues through the completion of a CDL-style obstacle course, an eighth-of-a-mile drag race while towing a 10,000-pound trailer, a quarter-mile drag race without a trailer, a fuel economy test in the mountains and finally a sled-pulling test through a 300-foot-long packed-mud pit.
What kind of trucks get into such a fight? Last year's winner, for instance - who upgraded his truck this year to prove he didn't "luck into the win" - drives a 2008 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a 6.4-liter Power Stroke V8 upgraded with a custom intake, Elite Diesel triple turbos and a two-stage nitrous system. Another competitor has a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 powered by a 5.9-liter Cummins inline-six, upgraded with Garrett turbos, dual-stage nitrous, a seven-inch exhaust stack and twin fans built into the bed to cool the Sun Coast Omega transmission. The numbers on that truck: 1,255 horsepower, and 2,063 pound-feet of torque at the wheels. Naturally, as the image above might suggest, things don't always end well.
You'll find all five videos covering this years challenge below. A scene in the dyno video sums it all up perfectly: a competitor leaves his nitrous on too long and the crew is treated to some ominous poppings, he leans out the window, throws both hands up and shouts, "Amer'ca!"
