1971 Chevrolet Super Cheyenne Short Box Swb 2wd Hot Rod Classic Nice!!! 72 Nr on 2040-cars
Spokane, Washington, United States
Selling my nicely restored 1971 Chevrolet Short Box pickup. This pickup is one of many I have owned over the years and probably my favorite. This is not your same old blue, orange or red Chevy truck. This truck was an extremely nice original White/Ochre Cheyenne Super with white interior and Air Conditioning. The restoration was completed two years ago and has since had very few miles put on it. It was painted the factory White and Ochre colors. The paint and body are of High quality and show very well. Interior is in excellent, as new condition and also shows very well. Tilt steering wheel with an aftermarket Kenwood stereo system that sounds great. The only blemishes I can find is a scratch in the passenger door jam that happened during assembly. The engine compartment has been detailed and is in very nice restored original condition. The engine is a 350 CI small block with a mild RV camshaft that runs great. It is backed by a newly rebuilt TH-350 automatic transmission. Has factory A/C that needs charged. Truck has full dual exhaust with Flo-Pro mufflers and nice tips. This awesome pickup has a great stance thanks to the Belltech Drop spindles, CPP lowered control arms and drop springs. The rear rides great and has lots of clearance after having the frame professionally c-notched. Has new disc brakes, a rebuilt 12-bolt rearend and drives great. The chassis has been modified. The bed has a brand new bed floor in it that is perfect, no dings like most. It also has a color matched very high quality spray in bed liner. Truck sports factory 8" wide rally wheels with new 255/60/15 in the front and 275/60/15 in the back BFG Radial T/A tires. This pickup is a very nice example of a tasteful restoration that anyone would be proud to Show or just drive and enjoy. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the truck is for sale locally. Buyer is responsible for shipping arrangements. There is a $500 deposit due within 24 of auction end and remainder is due in 7 business days. Payment must be either verified Bank Wire Transfer or Cash. Both will need to clear or be in hand before vehicle leaves. Bid with confidence and please feel free to ask questions or come view the truck. It is located in Spokane, WA 99223. I can be reached at 509-939-6682 Derek |

Ram 1500 bests new F-150 in MT pickup shootout
Tue, Nov 25 2014Ford's 2015 Ford F-150 is a technological tour-de-force, what with its aluminum-intensive construction and its powerful and efficient new 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine option. But now that it's hit the market, it's time to get down to brass tacks and find out how just the latest F-150 actually stands up to its rivals in the hyper-competitive fullsize segment. Motor Trend is among the first to round up the Ford (in Lariat 2.7-liter 4X4 guise here) and put it up against the Ram 1500 Outdoorsman EcoDiesel 4x4 and 5.3-liter-equipped Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71 to find out how Dearborn's new-think truck measures up. The test put the trio through over 1,000 miles of tough driving in California and Arizona in a variety of conditions from just cruising around unladen to hauling a trailer. MT found all three trucks to be competent, but the most praise got heaped on the Ram and the Ford, with the Chevrolet falling a step behind its competitors in many tests. Among the Ford's most-liked features was its 2.7-liter, twin-turbo V6 that helped make the F-150 easily the quickest of the group, with some editors saying the engine felt about the same whether driving around with cargo in the bed or not. There was some minor turbo lag during acceleration while trailering, but that issue affected the Ram, too. The Ram's powertrain was lauded, as well. The EcoDiesel was torquey around town, and the 1500's combination of an eight-speed automatic and air suspension was judged to be the best of the lot. It was the most difficult to get into the bed, though. The Ram also won the fuel economy award by netting 20-miles-per-gallon city and 28-mpg highway in the test to beat its Environmental Protection Agency ratings of 19/27. The Ford's EcoBoost managed 17/22, one mpg off each from the EPA numbers, and using a lot of throttle really depleted its efficiency. As MT notes, however, it would take time for the diesel's mileage savings to pay off at the pump for these two trucks. In the end, the Ram just barely eked out the win, with the title partially earned because of "the Ford's unknown maintenance and aluminum repair costs," according to MT. 1 in 7 Americans say they might buy an EV next, as sales of electrics surge
Wed, Apr 26 2017About one in seven driving Americans may likely purchase an electric vehicle as their next car, according to an AAA poll, meaning that as many as 30 million Americans may pony up for an EV within the next three to five years. While some of the motivation is environmental, survey recipients say that lower maintenance expenses and solo access to high-occupancy-vehicle lanes are also among the factors behind potentially going electric. Take a look at the AAA press release on the study here. The poll indicates that about as many people are planning to buy an EV for their next car as are looking to buy a pickup, which is impressive given that the best-selling US vehicle is the Ford F-150. And things should only improve, as about 20 percent of millennials polled said that their next car would probably be an EV. The results are all the more encouraging, at least among green-car advocates, because gas prices have fallen about 40 percent within the past five years, meaning that there's less of an incentive to go electric from a purely economic perspective. Through the first quarter of this year, US plug-in vehicle sales were up about 63 percent from a year earlier to about 39,000 vehicles. Meanwhile, when it came to AAA's annual green-vehicle awards for this year, Tesla's Model S and Model X took the large car and SUV categories, respectively, while the Chevrolet Bolt and Volkswagen e-Golf were listed atop the subcompact and compact lists. The Lexus GS 450h hybrid and the Ford F-150 took home AAA's best green vehicle in the midsize and pickup truck categories. Related Video:
2016 Chevy Volt will not need premium gas
Wed, Oct 29 2014Buried in the new technical details of the 2016 Chevy Volt released yesterday was a throwaway line about a small but important change that's due to the new 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. The first-gen Volt has always required premium gas but the new powerplant will be happy burning plain old regular. The Volt's chief engineer, Andrew Farah, told AutoblogGreen that the change was due to today's Volt owners explaining they were not happy paying for top-shelf petroleum. "The ability to use regular unleaded was based directly on customer feedback," he said. "Since the range extender is an all-new engine, it was optimized to use regular unleaded at the outset. Using regular fuel will not have effect on vehicle acceleration or other performance factors." As Larry Nitz, GM's executive director of vehicle electrification, told AutoblogGreen yesterday, the new engine is more powerful and quieter than the outgoing 1.4-liter engine that's used in the current Volt. Fuel economy and EV range specs for the next-gen Volt are not expected until the full car is revealed at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
